PASTOR’S NOTE

“Christ has liberated us to be free.”

Galatians 5:1

Thomas Jefferson, who is credited with writing the Decla-ration of Independence, wrote: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are creat-ed equal, that they are en-dowed by their Creator with certain unalienable [natural or God-given] Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” Our freedom comes from God and not from government. Jesus Christ has given us both civ-il freedom and spiritual free-dom. Celebrate our nation’s 243rd year of independence by thanking God for our freedom and liberty.

During the month of July, I will bring a series of messages titled: “The Choice of Free-dom.” We will look into God’s Word and discover what God says about our freedom as both citizens and His servants.

There will be no Wednesday evening activities during Ju-ly so that our workers can take a break, and everyone can en-joy time with their families.

We will begin collecting items for the Georgia Baptist Chil-dren’s Home. This is a prac-tical mission project within our state that helps at-risk youth. Details will be in the bulletin and on the screen.

Thank you for your faithfulness in giving and in prayer. In case I haven’t told you lately—I love being your pastor!
