UNCOVER THE TRUTH Uncover The Truth is an initiative to encourage St Andrew’s young girls to grow in their faith. As a youth team we have a passion to see young men and women be confident in who they are in Christ. Below is a short testimony from Anna Chu who recently shared her journey of faith at Uncover The Truth: Being a Christian did not mean much to me when I was young. I grew up in a Christian family so I went to church every Sunday, and prayed and read the Bible daily. It almost felt like a routine. Growing up changed my perspective on things and I started to realise how much God had impacted my life. Both my sisters and I were born with eczema, a type of skin allergy; we also have plenty of food allergies and asthma. Having eczema means that we have really sensitive skin that gets easily irritated. God gave us two amazing parents who loved us the way we are; they have patience to take care of us, despite all our needs. Having eczema causes plenty of scarring, as a teenage girl there are moments when I feel self-conscious about my appearance. But God understands, He knows that I struggle, and He understands what I’m feeling and helps me through it. My spiritual life grew so much when I became a youth worship leader two years ago. It feels amazing when you find a personal connection with God. I did not know what I was doing at first. I had some troubles along the way and there were times when I doubted myself. I never saw myself as talented because there were people who were much more skilled than I am. But God does not care about these things. God gives us each gifts and we should use them to glorify Him no matter what. Growing up in a Christian family is something I am very grateful for. I learnt that God actu- ally hears my prayers. There have been times when I desperately needed His help, I prayed and He’d either immediately show me the way or I’d find it myself. I knew that God existed and all I needed was to find Him. In times when I felt alone and struggled, Matthew 28:20 is the verse I go to for comfort, “… And surely I am with you, to the end of the ageTo summarise my thoughts, I will end this with a quote from Nicky Gumbel: God is the reason why even in pain, I trust; In confusion, I believe; In betrayal, I hope; and in fear, I never give up.Anna Chu Life at St Andrew’s Enquiries or Sign-ups?
