Company 10plus provides a comprehensive service for micro and small entrepreneurs, such as caterers or owners of local shops and hair salons, on less “web” developed markets, solving their problem of not having enough time for creating attractive and prompt websites and placing them on various introduction and evaluation portals, where users search for and rank this type of providers. Most entrepreneurs are aware that they have to have web presence, but they usually have neither the time nor the knowledge for that. Company 10plus sees the biggest potential for marketing their solution in the Balkans, in South American countries (Colombia, Venezuela, Peru), in Turkey, Armenia, Russia and Georgia.

The down payment is done via a website, mobile app, self-service or POS terminal. Payments are done with a mobile app, where the credit is saved on a virtual user profile, and the leftover money is returned directly to the user’s bank account.

Using a sensor, the mirror detects the presence of the user and suitably adjusts the displayed content, which can be monitored and administered remotely. The interactive digital mirror aims to help advertisers solve the problem of “immunity” to ads that users see on numerous internal and external, classic and digital displays. It makes the user interact more with the medium, and shows key information when the user actually approaches the screen. At the same time, the advertisers can reliably quantify an ad campaign’s reach, same as in web advertising, as well as get the option of buying ad space based on the number of views, not only in time-limited intervals.

After choosing their tourist destination on the TravelStarter platform, the user gets insight into family tourist stories that have big potential, but lack the resources for financing ideas. Guests and travellers supporting individual projects become part of a genuine local story and get a meaningful experience, and at the same time receive a reward worth from five to two hundred euros. This can be an overnight stay in a hostel they helped open, a traditional home-cooked dinner in a bed&breakfast their support helped renovate, or living and wandering around under the wings of a provider who will be able to enrich their programme by using their contributions.

The Viar solution is designed as a web cloud platform that transforms the architect’s plan into a virtual app for smartphones. The phone is inserted into purpose-made virtual reality glasses. Phone sensors detect movements (accelerometer and gyroscope), the phone screen displays two pictures (one for each eye), and the phone lenses zoom the screen picture and the visual angle.

Company ZP aplikacije created the solution ZeroPass, which solves the problems of storing, protecting and recovering computer passwords and keys for everyone who uses passwords but doesn’t want to constantly re-insert them, forget them or give control to a third person. ZeroPass safely stores passwords, transforming them into a mathematical procedure. The passwords are divided into several parts, and storage is distributed between the user and the company server. By using this hybrid method, they’re the first ones on the market to eliminate the possibility of a guessing attack, despite the fact that ZeroPass servers don’t actually ever see the user’s passwords. They’re also the first to offer password and key recovery and inheritance, which is why their solution is exciting for users in the bitcoin and crypto world.

Start:up Geek House is powered byInitiative Start:up Slovenia

Start:up Slovenia Initiative implements national programmes for encouraging entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial activity within three target groups: entrepreneurial teams in the phase of designing their entrepreneurial idea, start-up companies, and companies undergoing fast global growth.

These national programmes go back several years, are recognised as established national brands, but most importantly they link to and complement each other content-wise, which provides assistance and support to companies in all growth phases - from designing the idea to presence on international markets.

This comprehensive and systematic support to start-ups is developed and implemented in a partnership with various organisations from the support and business environment. It encompasses the following elements:

• Financing, namely grants, equity and debt financing from public, private and “mixed” sources. Each start-up company can acquire up to approximately 320,000 EUR of public funds for its growth and development.

• Substantive support and mentoring in the form of educational programmes, mentoring, consulting and administrative support, entrepreneurial training and networking. The network of mentors includes over 100 reputable entrepreneurs, businesspersons and managers, who advise and mentor companies.

• Unified promotion of programmes and companies, including attracting talent to Slovenia, which includes transparently and publicly selecting programme participants, monitoring and promoting them, and thus effectively monitoring the spending of public funds.

• A suitable infrastructure (business premises) in the form of co-working facilities, incubators and technology parks, the primary purpose of which is to establish a community and environment with the appropriate values encouraging talent, technology, tolerance and transparency.

Key milestones in 2014:
