The Standard for People Management

A framework for high performance

The framework describes the criteria to achieve the Investors in People Standard.

The framework is comprised of nine indicators: the drivers for performance through people. Measurement against these people management indicators determines the performance of an organisation and the level of accreditation achieved.

Investors in People accreditation levels

Underpinning the framework is the Investors in People performance model. This allows detailed measurement from ‘Developed’ to ‘High Performing’ against each of the nine indicators.

Investors in People Accredited All nine indicators at ‘Developed’ level.

Investors in People Silver All nine indicators at ‘Developed’ and any seven of the nine indicators at ‘Established’ level.

Investors in People GoldAll nine indicators at ‘Developed’ and ‘Established’ and any seven of the nine indicators at ‘Advanced’ level.

Investors in People Platinum All nine indicators at ‘Developed’, ‘Established’ and ‘Advanced’ and any seven of the nine indicators at ‘High Performing’ level.

Stage 1 DevelopedThe principles and practices in place are communicated. People and leaders know what is expected of them.

Stage 2 EstablishedPeople and leaders are engaged in implementing the principles and practices.

Stage 3AdvancedPeople and leaders actively drive positive outcomes, taking ownership of the principles and practices.

Stage 4 High PerformingThe principles and practices are fully integrated with wider activities. People and leaders take accountability for delivering consistently positive results, always with an eye for improvement.
