EL PALACIO REAL DE ARANJUEZ This castle is two-century work in

Once a hunting lodge for Charles I, and later expanded to a palace by Phillip II in the 1560’s.Now used as a summer retreat for

Europeans.

A range of different architects took a roll in the building of this structure.

SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA CATHEDRAL Despite its Baroque façade, the present

cathedral is mainly Romanesque.

Construction began in 1060 in the reign of Alfonso VI and was completed in 1211.

The arches over the side doors represent the Last Judgment, with Christ in the center.
