FROM THE PRESIDENT’S PEN
It seems as though Mother Nature has finally transitioned from a long Winter into
Spring and surely Summer can't be far away. Spring in the Reserve always shows off
with an abundance of flowers, flowering trees and shrubs and wildlife and this year,
long after the Polar Vortex of January, is no exception.
There are several transitions taking place with our Board that I want to tell you about.
Jane Anderson has stepped down as President after three years. Jane has done an
exceptional job leading the RHA through many changes that has put the neighborhood
on solid footing for the future. Jane has agreed to be available on a "once in a while
consultant basis" and I am grateful for that. Her shoes will be tough to fill.
Pat Chaloupek is leaving us as Chairperson of the Common Grounds Maintenance
Committee after many years of service to the RHA in different capacities, including
President. Pat has done a wonderful job in the years I have known her and also leaves
big shoes to fill. I'm happy to report that Mary Jane McGinnis, who has also served
the RHA for several years, is taking Pat's position and will do a great job.
Melanie Miguel is stepping down as editor of our newsletter after this issue. Melanie
has published the RHA newsletter for ten years and has done a fabulous job. Melanie
also maintains the RHA website which has been recently updated. It looks GREAT and
if you haven't looked at the website lately, please do. Melanie is going to continue to
maintain the website.
As you see any of these three dedicated RHA volunteers around the neighborhood,
please thank them for their years of service to the RHA. Also if you would like to take
over the publication of our quarterly newsletter, please let me or another board
member know of your interest.
Have a GREAT Summer! Ed Ambruster, President RHA

GOURMET GROUP
The Reserve Gourmet celebrated the much awaited spring weather
with a “Spring Celebration” in April hosted by Bernhard and Vicky
Nann. Grillmeister Bernhard fired up his amazing grill and we were
treated to a spectacular roast lamb feast. Delicious appetizers, sides
and desserts were prepared by all those in attendance and it was a
great evening to once again visit with neighbors.
Watch your email for news about future events. If you are interested in joining the
group, please contact Joanne Weiler via email at [email protected].
Good times and great food are always on the menu!
GARAGE SALE
Any Reserve neighbors who are interested in holding a garage
sale June 19-21 are encouraged to contact Mary Jane McGinnis
by June 10 at either [email protected] or 330-416-
4760.
Participants will share in the cost of ads placed in the local
papers. Signs will be placed at the entrances to The Reserve. The
sale will be scheduled for Thursday, June 19, 9-4; Friday, June 20,
9-4; and Saturday June 21, 9-noon. A preview for residents only
is scheduled for Wednesday evening, if you are interested. Please
place balloons on your mailbox during those days while you re open.
SPEEDING IN THE RESERVE
An important reminder to everyone that children will soon be out
of school. We’ve had several complaints from neighbors about
speeding through the neighborhood – so please be cautious and
obey the 25-mph limit within The Reserve. And be extra watchful
for children playing near on in the streets.
THE RESERVE TIMES
The Reserve Times is almost paperless. Only residents without a computer and new
neighbors are receiving hard copies. To receive a hard copy, or to receive your copy
via email, you may – for the time being - phone Melanie at 330.241.4406 or email at
[email protected]. Remember, you can always view past and present issues on
our website.

BOB’S LIST
Don’t forget to check out Bob’s List when you need a repair person! Bob Morrow has a variety of
names and references for painters, electricians, plumbers, roofers, etc. Bob is always updating his
list. You can help by giving new recommendations and by letting us know if you are aware of a person
or company on the list that is no longer in service.
You can contact Bob directly at 330.725.5893 or [email protected]. Bob’s list can be found on our
website at www.medinareserve.com.
NEW NEIGHBORS
When neighbors notice that someone new has moved in next door or across the street, and after they greet
and welcome them, please give Maureen Wickey, our New Residents Chairperson, names and contact
information at 330.764.3103 or [email protected] . She will get a packet of RHA information
to them so they will be put on our lists to get Association news.
Welcome to new residents in The Reserve!

CHAIRPERSONS NEEDED
The Association is currently in need of two chairpersons: Community Relations and Communications (formerly
Newsletter, along with E-Mailings). The Community Relations person is a liaison between The Reserve and The
Township (complete job description can be found here)
The newly created position of Communications Chairperson will be responsible for creating the quarterly Reserve Times
and sending out E-Mail Blasts. If anyone is interested please contact Melanie at 330.242.4406 or [email protected]
. She will explain everything in detail and help you get started.
EMAIL BLASTS
Some new regulations for e-mail blasts were implemented at the last board meeting. E-mails will be sent out for the
following: safety related issues and to keep residents informed on various events and other matters of importance.
Residents are free to inform their neighbors of their own personal events, such as garage sales, etc. by giving the
information to the communications chairperson to be placed in the next edition of The Reserve Times.

WEBSITE
The RHA website contains a wealth of information along with event photos and other fun things. You can view
newsletters going back to 2005, all documents such as deed restrictions, articles of incorporation, job descriptions,
mailbox assembly instructions, and a complaint form. It also contains Bob’s List of Utilities and Bob’s List of
recommended handymen, plumbers, electricians, etc. There is a classifieds area where you can list items you have for
sale, along with their photos. A section on the Board of Directors shows the names, phone numbers and jobs of
everyone on the board. Township information is given. The site contains photos from events from the past year, along
with wildlife sightings, curb appeal winners, etc. The Neighborhood Watch, implemented a few years ago is described.
Events are announced and Kudos are given. Also, check out our newest photo in the slideshow on the home page. It is
a magnificent field of poppies planted by Barbara Mahdinec of 3577 Reserve Drive.
MAILBOX FLAGS
Resident, Dennis Reese has provided us with the opportunity to show our patriotism all year long. He says:
“A group of community veterans will supply and install an American flag on every Reserve mail box "FREE" for those
who want to display it throughout the year. We would like to install as many as possible prior to July 4th. Replacements
will be made "FREE" throughout the year when requested or when the flag becomes too tattered. An email to
[email protected] indicating your name, address and phone number will get you on the Install a Flag List.”
Thank you, Dennis! We appreciate your hard work, and those of the community veterans.
RESERVE DIRECTORY
The Reserve Directory is at the printer. We will be distributing the new versions in early June. Volunteers to deliver to
each home are welcomed – just let Susan Cooper know – [email protected] .
CURB APPEAL AWARD
The winners of this edition’s The Reserve Times are Jack and Susan Connelly of 3539 Hunting Run for their simply
awesome display of spring tulips. The number of tulips and the colors were amazing! Unfortunately, the bulbs have
already stopped blooming. Hopefully you caught the view in person.
