The Pooka, an Irish creature, snatches

Oscar and takes him on a ride of his life!

The Pooka was flying so fast, that Oscars

eyes were tearing up. They flew high up

in the stands, going higher and higher! The Pookas eyes were glowing, lighting

their way. The Pooka would not tell

Oscar where he was taking him! He

finally lands and Oscar sees that they are

at his moms, and he sees her crying

    through the window.

curse of the Red Sox. His mom sends him

off to his dads for a while. There he finds

out about cursed creatures and more

secrets about his dad. He felt like an

    in with his dad.

I truly did love the book. It tells the story about a boy andmagical things that happen at Fenway Park while he is stayingat his dads for the summer. I never felt lost or confused whilereading the story and I think the story flowed very well. Some

of my favorite parts are the ones that you know can neverhappen. For example, flying on a Pooka, seeing an entire otherworld with cursed creatures that come out in the night, or justtrying to believe in the impossible. I agree that this should beon the Sunshine State Book list, as it is not only a make believebook, that allows your mind to imagine the impossible, but also

brings forward real life issueslike race. There is a ball playerwho was not entered into the Hall of Fame because he is blackand had made a mistake. The story is so exciting you couldmake a movie out of it. Jaden Smith would make an excellentOscar!! They could even get Steven Spielberg to direct it andthe action scenes would be like something off of Harry Potter!

We are each an orphan Keeffe Egg pg 92

I like this quote because every creature that is involved with the curse is anorphan. It is a big part of the story.

Orphan, find baseball to break curse Oscar pg 97

This quote is when Oscar finds out what the message was and how to break thecurse. I felt it was an important part; leading Oscar on his way.

I throw myself at your mercy Fedelma pg 122

This quote is important because it shows that auntie Fedelma does not want thecurse to be broken so she will do anything in her power to stop Oscar fromsucceeding.

Do I looked cursed to you? Weasel-Man pg.148

This quote shows that some cursed creatures like being cursed and do not reallybelive it is a curse but more of a gift and they do not want it to be broken.

Not alone, Not by myself Oscar pg. 318

The quote is important because it shows that the Red Soxs can win now that the

    curse has been lifted.
