theatre season:
EL GRANDE DE COCA COLA By Ron House and Diz White JUNE 17-29
A ridiculously wonderful show. The action takes place in a terrible part of Trujillo, in a nightclub, which isn't too far from terrible itself. A local impressario, Senor Don Pepe Hernandez, has announced in the local newspapers that he is going to bring an international cabaret to Trujillo. Eventually he succeeds, and we see the cabaret within the cabaret as it unfolds. Deliriously funny . .. refreshingly lunatic . .. muy refresco!
PRIVATE LIVES By Noel Coward JULY 1-13
Gorgeous, dazzling, fantastically funny. Elyot and Amanda, once married and now honeymooning with new spouses at the same hotel meet by chance, reignite the old spark , and impulsively elope. After some days of being reunited, however , they again find their romance alternating between passions of love and anger. Into this situation come their aggrieved spouses .. . Frothy fun for everyone!
DEATHTRAP By Ira Levine JULY 15-27
Two-thirds a thriller and one-third a devilishly clever comedy! Sidney Bruh!, a successful writer of Broadway thrillers, is struggling to overcome a "dry " spell which has resulted in a string of failures. A possible break in his fortune occurs when he receives a script from a student in a seminar he has been conducting at a nearby college--a thriller which Sidney recognizes as a Broadway hit. Suspense mounts steadily as the plot begins to twist and turn with such an abundance of thrills and laughter, that audiences will be held enthralled until the final, startl ing moments of the play!
