The pillars of Islam are basic rules that every Muslim must

follow…

One of the jobs of a pillar is to support or hold something up…

The pillars of Islam support or hold up our religion, Islam.

If we do not follow the pillars of Islam, it could cause us to be unsuccessful

Muslims,or in some cases, to not be Muslims at all.

What are the pillars of Islam?

The Shahadah is the first pillar of Islam

ال اله اال الله

د رسول ممح There is no true God but Allaah and Muhammad is the true”الله

Messenger of Allaah.”

Muslims testify (say):

Salaat:Prayer

There are five required (wajib) prayers that Muslims must

pray each day…..

Muslims pray:

Salat al Fajr, at dawn

Salat al Zuhr, at midday

Salat al Asr, in the late afternoon

Salat al Maghrib, at sunset

Salat al ‘Isha, in the evening

Zakah is a pillar of Islam

Zakah is food or money that we give to those in

need

Sawmu Ramadan is a pillar of Islam…

Sawm means fast, to give up food or drink during daylight hours.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.

Sawmu Ramadan is fasting for the whole month of Ramadan

Hajjis a pillar of Islam…

Hajj is a trip to the Kabah that every Muslim must make at least once in

his life, if he is able to.
