School/Business Partnerships for 2016—2017

Welcome Back! Partners In Education would like to welcome back all of our students for the 2016-2017 school year! We are so excited to once again be apart of your educational journey and can’t wait to see what you accomplish this year!

We would also like to thank our current and new partners for offering up their sup-port to our Clark County schools and students! Without your support and dedica-tion Partners In Education would not be able to successfully support education.

We fully believe that 2016-2017 school year is starting out on a positive note and we look forward to seeing what successes it holds!

Volunteer of the Year - John Adkins John Adkins was nominated by Ellen Hoffman, the principal at Conkwright Elementary. Mr. Adkins began working in the Clark County School District in 1972 and he served the district in many capacities, including teacher, Director of Pupil Personnel, football coach and principal of George Rogers Clark High School. Mr. Adkins returned to the school setting by volunteering at Conkwright Elementary. He has dedicated his life to improving the educational opportunities of the students in Clark County. Please join Partners In Education in thanking Mr. Adkins for his service to our students.

Director of the Year ~ Bruce Manley Bruce Manley has served on the Partners In Education Board since its inception and served as the Board Chairman from 2012 to 2015. This included an additional year beyond his requirement to help make the transition to a new director easier. Mr. Manley currently serves as the Campus Director for BCTC Winchester Campus. It is obvious that he is dedicated to bettering not only Clark County as a whole, but also bettering the educational opportunities of our students. Thank you to Mr. Manley for his years of support to Partners In Education.

Partner of the Year ~ Kentucky Bank Kentucky Bank has generously donated office space to Partners In Education since the inception of the program. Three years ago they became the sponsor of the GRC bank and have stayed actively involved with helping our high school students in this capacity. In addition, Kentucky Bank made a donation to Shearer Elementary to help disadvantaged students be able to purchase books. The staff at Kentucky Bank is always willing to support PIE and most recently was the first to volunteer to support our new Bucks for Books program with a donation. Please join Partners In Education in thanking Kentucky Bank for their ongoing support.
