In the celebration of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), we are reminded that Jesus’ enduring real presence in our midst strengthens us as we give witness to him; The Eucharist means Caring. Therefore we cannot receive the Eucharist and remain indifferent towards the poor; those without food and those without drink. Receiving the Eucharist, we become one with Christ, sharing in his life, his purpose and mission. By saying ‘Amen’ when we receive Holy Communion, we are in professing our faith that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, our Lord, our God and our Savior, that He is truly present in the Holy Eucharist. We believe in everything he says as God’s truth and wish to live our lives according to his teachings in order to follow his example of sacrificial love, by sharing and caring for each other and becoming good and active members of his One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church to which we belong. We also want to say ‘Amen and Praise the Lord’ that on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at 10:00 AM; Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral, Our seminarians – transitional Deacons - Xavier David Bilavendiran, Augustin-Khoi Duy Le, Preston Fred Quintela, Nicolas Ramirez, and Clark Steven Sample, will be ordained to the Sacred Order of Priesthood through the imposition of hands and invocation of the Holy Spirit by His Eminence Daniel Cardinal DiNardo. You are cordially invited to come and pray for our seminarians; our new priests. I myself plan to attend the ordination and ask for blessings from newly ordained priests. HOLY DOOR PILGRIMAGE
As you know, Pope Francisco inaugurated the Year of Mercy last
December. On Saturday, June 4, a group of parishioners of St.
Thomas More will go on, “pilgrimage” to the Holy Door at Our
Lady of Guadalupe Church, located at 2405 Navigation Blvd (near
downtown Houston). We will assemble at 11 AM outside Our
Lady of Guadalupe Church; process through the Holy Door, and
pray. We invite all parishioners to join us on this pilgrimage. For
