   Inten-onal  Grounding/Illegal  Forward  Pass  •  Rule  7-­‐5-­‐2a,b,c,d,e  Inten3onal  Grounding  is  R  call  ONLY  Illegal  Forward  Passes  –  U  –  Flanks  –  R  Pass  Interference  •  Rule  7-­‐5-­‐6,7,8,9,10,11  Make  it  BIG  –  common  sense  Obvious  intent  to  impede  Flanks  and  BJ  make  the  call  in  their  area

Pass  Coverage  •  Forma3on  keys,  as  play  develops  zone  coverage  

•  Ball  is  in  air,  look  at  receivers  in  your  zone  •  Primary  official  rule  on  play  •  If  two  officials  throw  a  flag,  discuss  foul  before  approaching  Referee  

•  BJ  get  acknowledgement  when  in  goal  line  coverage  

•  Make  eye  contact  on  plays  between  officials  before  signaling   5  

Referee  –  5  Man  

•  Before  snap  behind  and  to  the  side  of  QB  passing  arm;  look  through  to  opposite  tackle  

•  Count  A  players  and  signal    •  Observe  all  blocks  behind  NZ  •  Stay  with  passer  at  all  3mes  •  Rule  on  inten3onal  grounding,  illegal  forward  pass,  forward  or  backward  pass

Umpire  -­‐    5  Man  

•  Before  snap  take  normal  posi3on  •  Count  A  players  and  signal  •  Check  player  numbering  and  ineligible  receivers  •  At  snap  move  towards  LOS  keeping  B  and  A  lineman  in  front  of  you  

•  Assist  with  illegal  forward  pass  beyond  line  •  Assist  with  short  passes  down  the  middle

Line  Judge  &  Linesman  -­‐  5  Man  •  Before  snap  line  up  off  of  sideline,  count  B  players  and  signal  •  Determine  if  wide  receivers  are  on  or  off  LOS  and  signal  •  Determine  strength  of  forma3on  and  know  keys  •  At  snap  read  tackle  for  run  or  pass  •  If  pass  stay  on  LOS  un3l  receivers  have  gone  10-­‐12  yards  

downfield  •  If  quick  pass  to  your  side  rule  if  backward  or  forward  •  Punch  if  backward  &  towards  you  on  quick  throw  from  QB  •  As  pass  plays  con3nue  maintain  this  coverage  and  officiate  

your  zone

Back  Judge  –  5  Man    

•  Before  snap  deeper  than  the  deepest  defensive  back,  at  least  20-­‐25  yards  beyond  B’s  LOS  

•  Never  outside  of  the  hash  marks;  always  keep  all  players  in  front  of  you  

•  Count  B  players  and  signal  •  Determine  strength  of  forma3on  and  know  keys  •   At  snap  read  3ght  end  for  run  or  pass  •  If  pass  observe  ac3on  on  the  widest  receiver  on  the  strong  side  

•  As  pass  play  con3nues  your  zone  is  deep  middle  to  each  sideline
