Many Parker students participated in READ WITH THE GAMECOCKS . Students logged pages read. Our
fourth graders read 3995 pages and 23 of our second graders participated. All total 16,000 pages were read. Students who turned in their reading logs received vouchers to attend a soccer or volleyball game. These games are being held on October 7, October, 20, and November 2. Thanks to all the students who participated and to all the parents who supported them.

Family Reading Night W.E. Parker and the Edgefield County Library hosted Family Reading Night on Thursday, September 27 at the Edgefield Public Library. Parents and students joined faculty and staff for a fun evening of reading for the whole family.
Students and parents enjoyed finding “just right” books to read and take home. Mrs. Covar and Mrs. Olsen shared stories with the children. The teachers helped parents choose “just right” books for their children. Some parents signed up for library cards and many families checked out books. W.E. Parker gave each child who attended a book to add to their home library collection. Everyone who attended had a fun night of reading.
