Dear Friends,

I am looking forward to our upcoming Parish Mission, which will be held for three straight evenings next

week — November 13, 14 and 15. Simply put, a MISSION is just a time of prayer for us as a parish family to

stop and grow closer to Christ.

The format for Monday and Tuesday evening will be a short prayer service, mission talk and Benediction

of the Blessed Sacrament. On Wednesday evening, we will conclude with a Mass.

I often say that my role as Pastor is to help everyone in our large family grow closer to Christ. I need to

do that personally and encourage you to do that as well. That is my mission and why we are having a MISSION!

These three days of prayer will help us individually and as a family focus on our own personal relationships with

Christ and His Church.

If you can only come one night, do not miss out. Invite your family and friends to join you. We all have

many commitments and obligations, but every once in a while we all need to take time for what is most

important. Allow God to work in your life. Come and listen to His call and invitation.

Saint Joseph, Pray for Us!

CYO Service Project This weekend, November 4 & 5

The Saint Joseph CYO program connected with St. Joseph Regional Catholic School in Baytown, TX (just outside of Houston). This school was hit hard by Hurricane Harvey and needs sports equipment and supplies to restart their CYO program. The CYO board has decided to reach out in three ways: • All of our previously used uniforms will be donated to

the school. • The money raised from the 50/50 at the Beef and Beer

last month will be donated to the school's sports program (over $600).

• Finally, this weekend, November 4 and 5, our CYO teams will be outside of church accepting free-will donations to help support the recovery at St. Joseph, Baytown. We appreciate your prayers and support.

Our children are so much more than young athletes. They serve the world through service and are the present and the future of our church. We are very proud of the hours of service they contribute. (Note: If any parishioner has the means to assist with shipping the uniforms to Baytown, TX, please contact the CYO Board through the parish website.)

Ancient Order of Hibernians The Ancient Order of Hibernians is America’s oldest Irish Catholic Fraternal Organization founded concurrently in the coal-mining region of Pennsylvania and New York City in May, 1836. The Order can trace its roots back to a series of similar societies that existed in Ireland for more than 300 years.

Today the AOH exists in America, Canada, Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland, however, while the organizations share a common thread, the American AOH is a separate and much larger organization. Active across the United States, The Order seeks to aid the newly arrived Irish, both socially and economically. The Order has also provided a continuing bridge with Ireland for those who are generations removed from our ancestral homeland. The AOH sponsors many programs associated with promoting our Irish Heritage such as the IRISH WAY PROGRAM, SCHOLARSHIPS and NATIONAL HISTORY DAY sponsorship.

We invite all Catholics of Irish birth or descent to seek admittance to the FINEST Irish Catholic Organization in the World — all we would ask is for you to live our motto of: “Friendship, Unity, and Christian Charity”.

The AOH in Chester County is looking for new members to join its ranks. The division meets monthly at the Knights of Columbus hall in West Chester, 110 Market Street on the 3rd Sunday at 1pm.

If you are interested in joining, please email James Farry at [email protected] or Mick Dunleavey at [email protected] to receive an application.
