UK Foreign SecretaryWilliam Hague said onTuesday the situation ineastern Ukraine was "verydangerous", and praisedthe Ukrainian governmentfor acting "veryresponsibly throughoutthis crisis".

Thousands of Russiantroops are reported to bedeployed along the borderbetween Ukraine andRussia, and Kiev fears anycrackdown on pro-Russiangroups who have seizedbuildings in about 10towns and cities acrosseastern provinces thatform the heartland ofUkraine's heavy industrycould trigger an invasion.

However, Ukraine'sacting President,Olexander Turchynov, hasannounced the start of an"anti-terrorist operation",telling parliament it hadbegun in the "north ofDonetsk Region" onTuesday morning and wasbeing conducted "stage bystage, in a responsible andweighed manner". MrTurchynov said the aim ofthe operation was to"protect Ukrainiancitizens, to stop the terror,to stop the crime, to stopthe attempts to tear ourcountry apart".

The extent of theoperation was unclear atpress time butunconfirmed reports

Former police inspector antonio “Billy the Kid” GonzálezPacheco appeared before the High Court last week, to continuefighting extradition to argentina. The 67-year-old, who faces13 torture charges filed in argentina by a group of Spaniards, appeared in court wearing a motorcycle helmet to hide his facefrom the photographers. His lawyer said González Pachecofeared for his safety because he has been followed andthreatened by people.

The court only allowed the cameras to take photographs of himfrom behind. Former Guardia Civil officer Jesús muñecas is alsowanted in argentina on murder charges. Buenos aires Judgemaría Servini opened an investigation against the two menbased on the universal justice doctrine. Victims of the Francodictatorship filed a case in the South american country aftercourts in Spain refused to deal with their complaints. duringthe hearing, High Court prosecutors stated their opposition tosending the two men to argentina, arguing that the statute oflimitations of the charges they face has run out. Billy the Kidgot his name from his habit of spinning his pistol on his fingerwhile interrogating his victims.

a loophole in the government’s reforms of the universal justicelaw forced High Court Judge Javier Gómez Bermúdez to releaseeight suspected drug traffickers last week. He also shelved theentire case, which involved the investigation of a 12-ton haulof hashish that was seized on march 16th from a boatintercepted in international waters.

The eight crew members of the vessel were from Syria, andwere arrested by Spanish customs officers. Earlier in the week,High Court judge Fernando andreu had to let another eightsuspected drug traffickers free. They were the Egyptian crewof a fishing vessel caught in march carrying nearly 10 tons ofhashish. The government has been harshly criticised by humanrights groups, the opposition and legal experts for restrictingthe use of the universal justice doctrine after officials werepressured by other countries with relation to ongoing HighCourt investigations. The loophole in the new law limits judges’ability to investigate and send to trial boat crews caughtcarrying drugs.

'EU would acceptindependent Catalonia'Despite repeated warningsto the contrary from EUofficials, advisers to theCatalan regionalgovernment said onMonday that the"European Union wouldsooner or later admit anindependent Catalonia asa member state forpolitical and economicreasons".

The NationalTransition AdvisoryCouncil said there is aloophole in currentEuropean andinternational legislationthat would help Cataloniajoin the EU. Fifteen people died andnine more were injured in12 road accidents duringthe first weekend of theEaster break - more thanhalf the total number ofdeaths seen during all ofEaster week last year, theDGT national trafficauthority reported onMonday.

Last year was the firstsince 1962 with fewer than30 deadly car crashes

registered over the Easterbreak.

Roads at worst since 1985

The president of theSpanish Road Association(AEC), Juan FranciscoLazcano, told reporterslast Friday that “Spanishroads are facingunprecedenteddeterioration, and only asudden change of tack inthe 2015 budget can

prevent a debacle”. He waspresenting hisassociation's latest report,Study on investment inroad maintenance, whichsays the situation of thecountry’s roads are “theworst” since 1985, whenthe association conductedits first study.

By extrapolating theconditions found on the3,000 road sections thatwere analyzed, the AEC

concluded that it isnecessary to replace330,000 road signs, repaint road surfacemarkings along 52,000kilometres ofthoroughfares and review82 per cent of roadwaylights.

The association warnedabout the seriousconsequences of pavementdeterioration for roadsafety, and said the cost of

repairs growsexponentially with everypassing year. “Every eurothat is not invested in time

on pavement maintenancebecomes €5 three yearslater, and €25 by the fifthyear,” Lazcano warned.

Police have seized tens of thousands of illegal guns and knives, inwhat the china Daily newspaper said is the largest-ever haul of itskind. More than 10,000 guns and 120,000 knives were confiscatedafter a four-month investigation, and 15 people suspected ofbelonging to a criminal network were arrested. The police startedinvestigating after a suspect in an armed robbery in Guiyang city inGuizhou province told them about his supplier. The gang'sdistribution network for the weapons included at least 27 provinces, the newspaper said.

Private gun ownership is illegal in china and certain knives areclassified as "controlled".

Du chuang, a public security official from Guiyang, told thenewspaper that the illegal arms ring was a family-run business. Thesuspects even "gave out their business cards all over china", he said.

The military has admitted it committed "some excesses" duringweeks of political unrest that have left more than 40 people dead.Strategic command chief vladimir Padrino said 97 officers and policestaff were being investigated for "cruelty and torture". "Thatrepresents only 0.4% of the force," he told venevision television.Security forces have been accused of human rights abuse during thealmost daily anti-government protests, which have left at least 41people killed and hundreds more injured on both sides. Thevenezuelan opposition and human rights activists accuse the securityforces of repression and using heavy-handed tactics. But Gen Padrinoinsisted the security forces were acting "in accordance with the ruleof law". "no soldiers have received orders to hurt anyone, harass orend the life of a venezuelan," he said. Last week, President nicolasMaduro met opposition leaders in crisis talks aimed at quelling morethan two months of protests. a Utah woman has been accused of killing six of her own babies aftertheir bodies were discovered in cardboard boxes at her former house.Megan Huntsman, 39, gave birth to the babies between 1996 and2006. Seven bodies were found by police at the house and it isunclear why she has only been charged on six counts. Her estrangedhusband, Darren West, discovered the first body in the garage beforealerting authorities. Police spokesman Michael roberts said: "Wedon't believe he had any knowledge of the situation." When askedhow the husband could not have known his wife had given birth toseven children, he replied: "That's the million-dollar question.amazing." Mrs Huntsman had moved out of the house around threeyears ago. She had three daughters, a teenager and two adults, whohad continued to live there. They did not seem to know their motherwas pregnant or notice anything suspicious, neighbours said.

Police spokesman FrankMba said 16 luxurycoaches and 24 minibuseshad been destroyed. Theexplosion happened ascommuters were about toboard buses and taxis to goto work in central Abujaon Monday.

Investigators believethe explosives may havebeen inside a vehicle. Theblast ripped a hole 4ft deepin the ground of NyanyaMotor Park, some 10 milesfrom the city centre, anddestroyed more than 30vehicles, causing

In a statement, thepolice said they were on"red alert" and hadincreased surveillance at"all vulnerable targetswithin Abuja". No grouphas taken responsibilityfor the attack, butNigerian PresidentGoodluck Jonathanblamed the radicalIslamist group BokoHaram. Britain revealsplans for threenew garden citiesThe British Governmenthas announced plans forthree new garden cities totackle a chronic housingshortage.

The Chancellor has saidone would be created andnow Deputy PrimeMinister Nick Clegg hasannounced that there willbe three.

It is a radical solution toan old problem and aprospectus will invitecouncils to bid for thefunds available.

Each city will have atleast 15,000 homes, butthe new cities will not beimposed on communitiesand must have the fullsupport and backing ofcouncils, have transportlinks and be commerciallyviable.

The money will comefrom an existing £2.4billion pot for thedevelopments throughto 2020. Theannouncement followsconcern that the averagefirst time house buyer isnow aged over 30.

Mr Clegg said theGovernment was keen toget to grips with theproblem becausesuccessive governmentshad allowed an urbansprawl which bred localresentment and did notsolve the problem.

Concentration in threecities would allow betterprovision of infra-structure and wouldprotect the countryside atthe same time.

After hours GP planis extendedBritish Prime MinisterDavid Cameron hasannounced that a plan toensure that patients cansee family doctors outsideworking hours has beenextended across Englandso that 7.5 million peoplewill have increased access.

It means 1,147 doctors’surgeries will be able toaccommodate patientswith late night and

weekend appointments. The project has been rolledout over many moresurgeries because of thehigh level of interest.

Mr Cameron alsoannounced plans toimprove care for peopleover the age of 75. It willbe proactive and designedto keep patients in theirhomes and out of muchneeded hospital beds.

Plea for better stroketreatmentWhile the health service inBritain is charged withproviding free healthcareto all at the point ofdelivery, there areanomalies in the waytreatment is provided

which give cause forconcern from time to time.

For example, a newstudy from King’s CollegeLondon and Guy’s andThomas’ NHS Foundation

Trust found that poorerpeople who suffer a strokeare more likely to receiveinadequate care.

Patients from poorerareas were less likely to beadmitted to hospital, lesslikely to be given a key testonce in hospital and lesslikely to be given essentialdrugs.

In highlighting theinequalities in care theresearchers are calling onpolicy makers to providebetter care wherenecessary to improve theprognosis of stroke.

The latest Social RealitySurvey by the Centre forAndalusian Studies showsthat the people ofAndalusia are satisfiedwith life in their region, towhich they are deeplyattached, and have nocomplexes about being"different".

They said Andalusiawas different because of itspeople's "open andwelcoming nature", itsclimate and wide variety ofscenery. They are alsohappy with their lifestyle(working to live ratherthan living for work) andfeel they have struck abalance between work andrelaxation.

They are proud of their

cultural and historicalheritage and the region'sgastronomy. They do nothave an identity crisis, feeling as much Spanishas Andalusian.

The small minority (lessthan 10 per cent) who saidthey would like to liveelsewhere were usuallyyoung people who hadgone to university.

According to the SpanishLaw each individual livingin Spain for more than 183days a year is a taxresident in Spain, andshould pay taxes in Spainfor their worldwideincome.

Many foreigners livingin Spain permanently, (formore than 183 days ayear), do not pay any taxesin Spain, or submit annualincome tax returns. Somedo not submit them out ofignorance of the law, andothers because they areafraid of paying hightaxes, etc., Whatever thereason, it is important tobe aware that ignorance ofthe law is no excuse, A Taxdeclaration must besubmitted annually, andtaxes should be paid whenapplicable by all taxresidents in Spain.

Up until now, theSpanish Inland Revenuehas not been controllingthe situation of thoseforeigners living

permanently in Spain, despite the fact thatauthorities have alwaysbeen aware of thisimportant group of people. Now, the situation haschanged, due to thefinancial crisis, theSpanish Governmentintends to tighten up itscontrol of all foreignersliving in Spain to ensurethat they pay taxes wheredue. This way they wouldavoid thousands of peoplereceiving free healthservices without payingtaxes, and consequently, not having the legal rightto get them. The SpanishGovernment has decidedto be stricter with the legalrequirements that allowpeople to get SpanishHealth Cards. Unlike inthe past, now it will not beenough to just registerwith the local Town Hall,(called “Empadronamiento”)in order to get treatment.

Therefore, NOW is thetime to formally become atax resident in Spain by

submitting your annualincome tax return for thetax year 2013, This shouldbe done during the monthsof May and June 2014.

This could beadvantageous as it wouldallow foreign residents to:-

-Confirm to the Spanishtax authorities withoutdoubt, that they, the taxresident, is living in Spain, and paying taxes whenapplicable.

-Have the legal right toreceive a health cardwhich allows access to theSpanish Public healthsystem.

-Avoid the 3 %withholding tax when areal estate property issold. This tax is applicableto foreigners who sell aproperty and cannot provethat they are a taxresident in Spain.

-Benefit from theinheritance tax

advantages, and theallowances applicable totax residents in Spain (i.e.no inheritance taxesbetween spouses on themain home).

-Be considered a taxresident in Spain, thusavoiding the annualincome tax applicable tonon-resident foreignerswho are owners of a realestate property in Spain(tax form 210).

It is important tomention that mostforeigners living in Spainare pensioners with lowmonthly pensions, so theyshould be aware that theyprobably will not have topay any income tax inSpain as the result of theirtax return would mostlikely be zero. However, itis still recommendable tosubmit an annual taxreturn, (even if the resultis zero and no tax has to bepaid), to enable them to beable to take advantage ofthe above points.

CONCLUSION: If youare foreigner livingpermanently in Spain (formore than 183 daysbetween 1st January 2013and 31st December 2013) Iwould strongly recommendthat you submit an annualincome tax return duringthe months of May andJune 2014, for the tax year2013. By doing so,confirming to the SpanishTax Authorities that youare, without doubt, a taxresident in Spain, you willavoid any potentialproblems, or fines, and willhave all the legal rightsthat the Spanish Lawsrecognizes are due to allindividuals residing

legally in Spain and dulymaking their Taxdeclaration here.

He announced that theAssociation intends tocreate eight commissions, one for each Andalusianprovince, to "X-ray" thestate of the roads andmake sure that the Junta'sbudget allocation of €557million for road works wasused where it was mostnecessary.

The re-housing of 17squatter families who hadbeen evicted early lastweek from a buildingcalled La Utopía in Sevillesparked a 48-hour-longcrisis in the Junta deAndalucia's coalitiongovernment.

Socialist PremierSusana Diaz decided thefamilies could not beallowed to jump the queueof around 12,000 familieswho are on the waiting listfor subsidised housing andtook the housing portfolioaway from coalitionpartner, the Communist-dominated United Left

(UI, Izquierda Unida). TheUI threatened to leave thecoalition, which wouldhave forced Diaz to callearly elections two yearsahead of time.

IU national coordinatorCayo Lara flew in fromMadrid to support hisparty during tense talksbetween the two partners, which ended with Diazbacking down andhanding the housingportfolio back to the IU.

By that time, only eightfamilies had been re-housed and the IU agreedthat the other nine

families should join thewaiting list.

Both parties claimedtheir alliance had not beendamaged but one Socialisthighlighted the mistrustinherent in the coalitionwhen he said: “It’s not aquestion of eight families, but rather the concept, thevalues. Andalusia is notVenezuela, and we can’tlet anyone who bangs onthe door just walk awaywith a new house.”

He was referring to arecent statement by IUleader Diego Valderas, who is deputy premier,

that it would wonderful ifVenezuela's brand of 21stcentury socialism could beimplanted in Andalusia.

Other areas ofdisagreement include theradical anti-eviction lawapproved last Septemberbut paralysed by theConstitutional Court, andthe plan to pay the lightand water bills of theregion's poorest families.

The Land Bank isanother IU project bywhich land standing idlewould be given to theunemployed. The IU isalso trying to push a new

tax law through theregional parliament whichwould introduce a hugetax hike for the region'srichest families.

The Socialists do notagree wholeheartedlywith these proposals buthave to go along withthem to keep the coalitiontogether.

Memo fromMadridMartin DelfínWrites for the English language version of

The LocalVoice

Muriel Pilkington

Ihad planned to analyse theregional government's latestcrisis - with the Socialists and

their coalition partner the UnitedLeft taking pot shots at each other -but I decided it was too weighty atopic for Easter Week. And this iswhere the risk comes in. By nextweek, regional premier Susana Diazmight have brought forward theelections - as I was going to predictshe would - but that's a risk I'll haveto take. It's Easter week after all,and one can assume that all the polswill be at the beach or wherever bythe time you read this, and myprediction will still be valid by thistime next week.

Then I remember AdolfoSuarez and how he pulled afast one over on the

military during Easter weekend in1977. After legalising the tradeunions and political parties whichFranco had banned, he'd promisedthe military he wouldn't legalise theonly banned party left - theCommunist Party. But he knew thetransition from dictatorship todemocracy wouldn't be completeif he left the Communists out inthe cold so he waited till all thegenerals and other top brass hadgone to the beach before decreeingthe party's legalisation on EasterSaturday.

He had to be sneaky about itbecause most of the topmilitary men at that time

had actually fought in the Civil Waralongside Franco, who hated theCommies with a passion. And whenyou look at what they did in Russia,Eastern Europe and China, you can'treally blame them.

The front page of a weekly paperis another high risk area and Idread having to decide what to

put on it because I know that byWednesday morning it will make melook a fool. This week, it's theUkraine again, where there's astrong possibility of World WarThree breaking out. Russian andUkraine troops are on the move evenas I write - but will probably only goas far as trying to outstare eachother across the border (I hope). Thisweek I felt like starting eachsentence with "at press time" - thosethree little words that would let meoff the hook if that crazy Putindecides to take on the whole worldovernight.

Iremember years ago when I wasworking at the Town Crier I rana story about a bomb attack in

Iraq which killed enough people tomake it newsworthy. By the time thepaper was on the street there'd beena few more bomb attacks and thenumber of casualties was hideous, making my earlier version lookridiculous. I decided there and thento ban all bombings anywhere in thenon-Western world from the paper.I'm not being discriminating becausethe sad truth is it's impossible tokeep up with the slaughter going oneven as I write in Africa and Syriaparticularly as well as too manyother parts of the world.

After typing that last sentence Irealised journalists faceanother type of risk - betrayal

by their computers. I thought I hadtyped "slaughter" but when I re-readit, it turned out to be "daughter".Now this could be a simple typo - I'dtyped "d" instead of "s", which arenext to each other on the keyboard, coming up with "dlaughter" and thecomputer decided I meant daughter. This happened the other week in theMijas story, when it looked as ifFrench troops were invading Malagain February 1937.

I'm sure the author of the articlewrote "Franco's" but hercomputer decided she'd really

meant French. I can't rememberwhich programme I was using butsome years back I had to read overarticles and translations verycarefully because the programmekept changing words in such a waythat they couldn't be simple typos.Computers have minds of their ownand that's a risk we must alwaysbear in mind.

To end on a more cheerfulnote, it looks as if all thereligious processions here in

the south of Spain are not going to berained off this year. For someyears now I've ended up weepingafter watching on TV the genuinegrief of people in Sevilla or Malagawho the rain robbed of the joy ofparading their thrones through thestreets.

Just a reminder - the processionsin Malaga are considered to beon a par with those in Sevilla,

or even better, which is somethingwe can be collectively proud of,whether we're religious or not.

Enjoy them!

Cold facts on murder

Last week, the United NationsOffice on Drugs and Crimes(UNODC) released its global

study on homicides committed indifferent countries. And not sosurprisingly, there are no statisticalsurprises. The Americas – UnitedStates and Canada included –continue to take the dubious prize ofthe region where most of the world’smurders take place. The Europeancontinent is ranked below Africa andAsia and only above Oceania when itcomes to the number of violent deathsper inhabitant. The 166-page report, filled with colourful, easy-to-followgraphics, makes an interesting readand does contain some astonishingconclusions, some of which knock overmany of our own personal theoriesabout why so many violent deathsoccur in one place rather thananother.

There were close to half a millionmurders that took place acrossthe globe in 2012, most of them

intentional homicides. Theresearchers found complexoverlapping patterns ofcircumstances, motivations andrelationships that drive people to kill. They split these deaths into threecategories: homicides related tocriminal activities, interpersonalrelationships, and social conflicts. Ofthe 437,000 murders that took placein 2012, 36 per cent were committedin the Americas. Europe onlyaccounted for five per cent of thattotal figure, which is not a startlingfind. Since the 1950s, the Americas’murder rate has always been five toeight times greater than that ofEurope.

However, researchers foundthat in some countries in theWestern Hemisphere, such as

Uruguay and Costa Rica, and inEurope – Sweden and Finland –murders based on interpersonalreasons are significantly higher thankillings committed related to criminalactivities. And the long-time generalacceptance that easy access tofirearms in some countries primarilyaccounts for high murder rates inthose nations is also debunked in thestudy.

“Not all high homicide areas areassociated with a high prevalenceof firearm homicide. For example,

some sub-regions with relatively highhomicide rates, such as EasternEurope and Southern Africa, have arelatively low share of homicides byfirearm, while others, such asSouthern Europe and NorthernAfrica, have lower homicide rates but

higher shares of homicides committedby firearm,” the study shows.

But firearms play a big role ingender violence crimesregardless of the country the

murders take place. “Studiesconducted in high-income countries, which tend to have lower levels ofhomicide, have shown strongcorrelations between gun availabilityin the home and female homiciderates, but a slightly weakercorrelation with male homicide rates. As a result, having a gun in the homeplaces women at a higher risk ofvictimization, particularly in thehome, where they are more likely tobe killed by their intimate partners orfamily members.”

While UN researchers foundthat the growing use of crackcocaine in the United States

has become a predominant factor inmany murder incidents, this isn’t thecase in countries like Spain andBritain where there is also a high useof the drug but similar levels ofviolence have not been reported. Yetthey found that in Britain, Swedenand Finland it was alcohol that wasusually the driving force that pushedpeople to commit murder.

The report also colour shadesregions across Europe wherethe murder rates are the

highest. In Spain, Asturias gets thedarker blue out of all of Spain’s areaswhere the homicide rates was thehighest in 2012 (between 2.5 andseven per 100,000 inhabitants) whilethe rest of the nation reported lessthan one per 100,000 murders thatyear. Algarve, the southernmost partof Portugal, also reported a homiciderate of 2.5 per 100,000.

With some nations andjurisdictions beginning toflirt with the idea of

legalizing certain narcotics, it will besome years before the United Nationsor any other international lawenforcement agency can determinewhether this move will help reducethe number of violent deaths incertain areas. But any type of policythat aims to curb violence and redirectmoney to social programmes that hasbeen squandered on ineffective anti-drug actions will always be a welcomemove.

Action Group explains

“Financial Passports”:

Many if not most financialadvisers are notauthorised directly inSpain but some areauthorised in their hostcountry and allowed underEuropean law to offeradvice in other Europeannations such as Spain. This is known as“passporting” financialadvice.

For example a UKfinancial adviser, providedthey have applied to theUK Financial ServicesAuthority (FSA) and beenapproved by the FSA canpassport advice into Spain. What this means is that isit the UK Regulator that isresponsible for policing theactivities of your financialadviser and handling anygrievance you may have.

Types of Passport

There are two types ofPassport Authorisation:

1. The InsuranceMediation Directive (IMD)Passport (registered withDGS in Spain)

Many financial advisers‘passport’ advice intoSpain under the InsuranceMediation Directive(IMD).

This means the FSA

will passport the UKadviser and notify theSpanish Insurance andPensions Regulator the LaDirección General deSeguros y Fondos dePensiones (DGS) that youradviser is working Spain. The firm will be listed bothon the FSA and the DGSwebsite as doing this.

a. IMD: PermittedAdvice and ArrangingActivities

Insurance basedproducts such as:Insurance Policies, LifeInsurance Investmentssuch as InsuranceInvestment Bonds, LifeInsurance, Pensions andAnnuities

b. IMD: Offices andAdvisers Living In Spain

If your adviser is‘passport’ authorisedunder IMD they willgenerally not be living inSpain or have an office orbranch but some may do soor try to give theimpression that they do.Having an office or branchmeans your adviser reallyshould be passporting intoSpain under MIFID.

One of the most popular devices usedto restrain dogs when taking them outfor a walk is the retractable leashotherwise known as the Flexi. Manyowners, however, wonder if such a leashis appropriate or even safe to use. Well, the answer is ,No.Before using a retractable leash, makecertain you’ve got one that’s strongenough to handle your dog. Dogs thathave a tendency to bolt or take offrunning after perceived prey shouldnever be restrained with a retractableleash. Aside from those dangers, thereare other things to keep in mind whenusing one of these popular leashes.

What You Need to WatchOut For· Prickling leash burns. Retractableleashes, especially the thin stringvariety, can very easily cause leashburns. This could happen when you letyour pooch race past you with theretractable line zipped up across yourbare skin. Unwarranted injuries, however, can be prevented if you try theflat, tape style retractable leash.Entanglement or strangulation. Notonly can retractable leashes burn us,they can also get twisted around a dog’sneck or legs. Worse, if your pooch panicsand jerks the moment they get hog-tied;it could cause the leash to pull eventighter. Although you can loosen thecords that have wrapped around hisneck, the situation could quicklybecome life-threatening.Fatal accidents. There are times whenour dogs dart away all of a sudden, andwith a retractable leash on him, yourdog might dart even farther, faster.Nevertheless, it’s the reeling that’s aserious issue here. It is possible that Fidomay spot a squirrel or anythinginteresting across the street, andsuddenly take off after it. If you’re notalert enough, his abrupt behaviour andan un-sturdy retractable leash could puthim smack on the road, right in front ofa speeding car.

Other Things You WouldNever Want to HappenThe leash drops. Because these leashesrarely have a wrist strap and aresometimes heavy and bulky, droppingthem is a regular occurrence. What’sworse, if you drop the handle, the lackof tension can send the heavy handlehurdling toward your dog. Not onlycould the heavy leash handle smackyour dog in the head, if your dog isspooked by the leash handle zippingdeafeningly toward him, he may take offrunning.· The cord is grabbed. If you grab thecord/tape while it is being pulled fromthe handle, you might suffer fromimmediate injury like cuts and burns.· The cord wraps around you. Poorhandling can also cause the cord/tapeto twist around you or someone else’sfingers resulting in deep wounds, orworse, amputation.· The collar breaks or comes off your dog.The moment this occurs, the leash couldretract at top speed while the other endof the line whips around at the same fullmomentum leading to serious injuriesto face, teeth, and eyes. This leash is not normallyrecommended by professional trainers.

Celia Says FERAL CATSMany of us are tempted to feed the catsthat hang about towns and resorts. Itseems so hard not to help them survive. Some of us may have groups of cats orindividuals that we feed regularly. If youare a cat feeder, the kindest thing of allis to try and get your cat or catsneutered. You can also set up a cat café,ie a place where feral cats can regularlyeat and drink. For an example of whatcan be done for stray cats, read the storyof the Twinkle Trust(www.twinkletrust.org ) which has beenrunning this kind of scheme inFuerteventura, the Canary Islands.

Anna Says Grooming yourdogDogs need grooming. Most peoplegroom their dogs at home, but it is a verygood idea to sometimes do these thingsduring your walk. When we walk our dogs it is all aboutexercise and we want our dogs to havefun. It is however important to be closeto your dog even during a walk, grooming is a great way to make yourdog relax and stay close to you for awhile during the walk. Stop and cuddleyour dog a little when you are out, stopand do some training and stop and dosome grooming. This way you are taking the walktogether and you become an importantpart of the walk for your dog.

Nazlie says: Heatstroke inDogsHeatstroke in Dogs - Dogs can sufferfrom heatstroke. Heatstroke can be avery serious, life threatening conditionfor any dog and if it is suspectedimmediate action is required. No dog, animal or person should ever belocked into an unventilated car. Even ifthe car is parked in the shade, the sunmay move to an unshaded position overa period of time, leading to very hightemperatures inside the vehicle. If a dogis locked in a vehicle, even in spring orautumn, there is a serious chance thatit may die of heat exhaustion. This isbecause dogs are unable to cope withvery high temperatures even for shortperiods of time.Recognising the symptoms of heatexhaustion in your dog are important, your dog may start to stagger and drool;stretch out and pant. If you suspect heatexhaustion immediate action must betaken to save the dog’s life. In mild casesof heatstroke, moving the dog to a coolventilated area may be sufficient. Inmore severe cases however, the dog canbe cooled using a water spray (e.g., aplant mister or in severe cases a hosepipe with a misting spray). Never soakthe dog too quickly as this is likely tolower the dogs body temperature tooquickly which can result in its death. Analternative method of cooling is to coverthe dog with wet towels until it showssigns of recovery. It is important for you to take your dogto see a vet for a health check-up afterit has recovered from heatstroke. Please remember that heatstroke can befatal to dogs and that you should neverleave your dog alone in a parked car. Theconsequences can be disastrous.

A fab night out with PAD in La CalaFriday night was a nightto get out the Easterbonnets and make our wayto the PAD Easter dinnerand dance at Howie’s(formerly Mijas Playa)restaurant in La Cala deMijas.

Drinks and canapéswere served on the terraceas we gathered on a lovelywarm spring night. Dinnerwas served and we wereentertained by 2 live JazzSax players. Service wasattentive but not

overbearing and afterdinner we had the EasterBonnet competition thatwas won by Greta whoseprize was a big Cadbury’sEaster egg. Her bonnethad a huge bunny and lotsof Easter themed items on

it such as chicks in a nest, puppies and kittens. Otherbonnets had springflowers, a butterfly, chicksand bunnies and eggsgalore including one witha fresh egg on it - the ladymoved VERY carefullywith that on her head!

The competition wasfollowed by an auctionincluding prints, rugs, aMulberry leather handbagthat fetched €150 and thechance to have your dog onthe PAD 2015 calendarthat was bought byPaulibe and a beautifulwooden yacht that raisedan amazing €800 makinga total of over €1000 forthe charity for the nightthat will help enormouslywith funds so, thanks toall who put their hands intheir pockets to help theanimals.

Later we were expertly

entertained by PeterBrooks who sangeverything from PhilCollins numbers tosmooth Lionel Richieand the Driftersnumbers while wedanced until aftermidnight.

Jo and John, Billand Hazel, Tony, Emilyand Bernie joined us onour table and made thewhole evening anextremely pleasant one.

Right now PAD islooking for homes formany dogs and cats butthis week’s Pet Of TheWeek is Canela (picturedabove) Canela is a realsweetie!! Yet anotherinnocent victim in thisnever ending recession. She is 6 years old, only 26cm tall and weighs about 4kg. She is fine with otherdogs, cats & children.

Canela lived in anapartment so no problemthere either.

Can you offer her theloving home she deserves? If you would like to meether , call Lisa 658 351 642

A cultural day in Mijas Part ree

This week we have the lastin the series of articlestelling you all about afabulous cultural day outthat can be had in MijasPueblo.

Carromato de Max(Max´s Covered Wagon)was inaugurated in 1972 byProfessor Max born inBrihuega, Guadalajara.

His real name was JuanElegido Millán – ahypnotist by profession buttook on the artistic name ofProfessor Max. He was aself-taught magician andapparently very wellknown and also hadstudied medicine. A trueBohemian and passionateadventurer he travelled allover Europe and Africadeveloping his passion forartists of the ancient worldand amassed a greatcollection of miniatures, some say as many as30,000. Not being able tohouse them all in one place,he inaugurated his“museum” in Mijas with360 pieces – of course at thetime it was considered tohouse “freaks”!

He spent most of histime in Africa and he wouldrecall anecdotes of what hehad to do to obtain certainminiatures. On oneoccasion it was impossibleto gain access to the

Jovaros Indians buthearing of the walking paththat the Chief of the tribewas to take and knowinghim to be a Sorcerer, hearranged a hypnoticsession with members ofthe tribe - the Chief was sotaken aback by it all thathe offered him anything hewanted in exchange for thesecrets of his session. Itwas here when he obtainedthe shrunken head of awhite man –the mostvaluable in the Museum.

Sadly he died in a caraccident in 1975 and the“Carromato” passed to hisinheritors who came to anarrangement with theMijas Town Hall – they inturn gave the managementof the installations toAFESOL a non-profitorganisation helping thosewith mental illness. Therefore the entrance feeof €3 is destined tofinancing projects andactivities of the association.

Apart from theshrunken head (which isreally not freakish) you willsee the Titanic, the TajMahal, each painted on agrain of rice and the SevenWonders of the Worldpainted on a toothpick! There are also dresseddesiccated fleas, writing ona strand of hair, a bullfightscene painted on the head

Sony Studio has steppedup to the plate with itsSpring blockbuster super-hero offering to remindMarvel they aren’t theonly kids on the block.Sony’s latest Spidey moviepremiered last week andwill set worldwide boxoffice tills ringing.

This second in theSpiderman rebootconfirms that Brit actorGarfield has more thancomfortably filled thePeter Parker/Spidermanshoes once worn by TobeyMaguire. As ever, theheart of the Spidermanstory revolves around theinternal conflict Peterfaces – his ‘normal’ teenageawkwardness, hopes andanxieties, pitched againstthe extraordinaryresponsibilities of asuperhero.

Here he is developinghis relationship withGwen (Emma Stone, rumoured to be Garfield’sreal-life girlfriend), and allis not going well. But of

course one of theresponsibilities of being asuperhero is protectingyour fellow New Yorkersfrom the bad guys andthat can be a distractionfrom everyday activities. His friend Harry Osborn(DeHaan) is about toinherit the poisonouslegacy of Oscorp, themulti-million dollarcompany linked toSpidey’s protaganists, from his father and is wellon the way to becomingthe Green Goblin.

In the meantime mildmannered Oscorp employeeMax Dillon (Foxx) isaccidentally turned by oneof the company’s secret

research programmes intosuper villain Electro andthe stage is set for someamazing battles and bigset piece special effectsextravaganzas.

Both Harry and Maxare layered characters. They are not simplycypher bad guys but havebeen badly damaged bytheir lives so there is anemotional complexityunderpinning theblockbuster special effects. The script delivers somegreat humour too. Themovie has found favourwith most of the critics soa definite must-see forSpidey and super-herofans.

Dear Kay,

To get a natural lookplease exfoliate first, particularly on elbows, knees and ankles.Moisturise with a goodquality lotion and apply athin layer of tanning lotion.

Wait a few hours orovernight, build it upgradually until you get thecolour you want...don't beheavy handed and if indoubt get it doneprofessionally.

cuticles around my fingernails that I am having tocut, more and morefrequently. What can I do?

Maureen, Mijas Costa

Dear Maureen

When you cut cuticles itis like cutting hard skin, they will grow back evenmore.

So please try to resist theurge and use a nail oil, thenjust push them back gently.Very quickly you will seethey become soft again andyou should only need to trimany hangnails, continue

Hi Sue,

I have a beauty question, when using the Guniotshimmer self tan on myface, is it ok to exfoliateonce a week or will it gopatchy? Thanks

Jackie, Torreblanca

Hi Jackie

Yes it is a really good idea to

exfoliate once a week whenusing self tan as it preventsa build up particularly onnecks and other crevices. Isuggest a good cleanser andtoner, apply a hydratingmask, and some moisturizerbefore applying self tan. Youwill always get a betterresult on hydrated skin

Hundreds of millions ofpounds may have beenwasted on a drug for flu thatworks no better thanparacetamol, according to areport by the UK-basednon-profit organisation, theCochrane Collaboration, which specialises in healthcare issues. The UK hasspent £473m on Tamiflu, but the CochraneCollaboration has claimedthat the drug did notprevent the spread of flu orreduce dangerouscomplications, and onlyslightly helped symptoms.

The antiviral drug Tamifluwas stockpiled from 2006 inthe UK when some agencieswere predicting that apandemic of bird flu couldkill up to 750,000 people inBritain. Similar decisionswere made in othercountries. Drug companiesdo not publish all theirresearch data. This report isthe result of a long fight forthe previously hidden datainto the effectiveness andside-effects of Tamiflu. Itconcluded that the drugreduced the persistence offlu symptoms from seven

days to 6.3 days in adultsand to 5.8 days in children. But the report's authors saiddrugs such as paracetamolcould have a similar impact. On claims that the drugprevented complicationssuch as pneumoniadeveloping, Cochranesuggested the trials were sopoor there was "no visibleeffect". Another justificationfor stockpiling was to slowthe spread of the disease togive time for a vaccine to bedeveloped. The report'sauthors said "the case forthis is simply unproven" and

"there is no credible waythese drugs could prevent apandemic".

It also claimed that thedrug had a number of side-effects, including nausea, headaches, psychiatricevents, kidney problems andhyperglycaemia. The report'sauthors told reporters: "Wethink the whole £500m hasnot benefited human healthin any way and we mayhave harmed people.

"The system that existsfor producing evidence on

drugs is so flawed and opento misuse that the public hasbeen misled."

The pharmaceuticalcompany Roche, whichmanufactures Tamiflu, said"we disagree with theoverall conclusions" andwarned they could"potentially have seriouspublic health implications".Its UK medical director, DrDaniel Thurley, said theCochrane group had usedthe wrong statistics, which"systematically underestimatethe benefits" of the drug, and

used "unorthodox" methodsto analyse the side-effects.The Department of Healthsaid Britain was recognisedas "one of the best preparedcountries in the world for apotential flu pandemic" and"our stockpile of antivirals isa key part of this.

The World HealthOrganization, which classesTamiflu as an essentialmedicine, said: "We welcomea new and rigorous analysisof available data, and lookforward to consideration ofits findings after it appears."

Simon Cowell yawned andthe Britain’s Got Talentaudience looked suitablyshocked in Saturday’sopening episode of the showas a diminutive 79 year oldsporting a saucy salsa dancetook to the stageaccompanied by a tallSpaniard half her age.

Judge David Walliamscommented that the pairreminded him of a LittleBritain sketch, and then themusic started....and from aslow start Sarah ‘Paddy’Jones suddenly was hoistedonto the shoulders of herpartner Nico Espinosa, swung between his legs and

twirled around like afeather.

Cowell had buzzed almostimmediately but was rockedby the step up in pace andthe audience went wild –and judge Amanda Holdenused the new ‘golden buzzer’to ensure the Britishgranny, who lives in Gandianear Valencia, automatically went throughto the semi finals.

Later show producers wereforced to defend theappearance of Paddy, whoback in 2009 won Spain’sequivalent show Tu Si QueVales, and who forced her

way into the Guinness Bookof Records in 2010 as theworld’s oldest acrobaticsalsa dancer.

They said that none of thejudges knew who Paddy andNico were – so the disdainfullook on Simon’s face musthave been genuine then. They added that the show isopen to all comers, includingprofessionals and those whohave appeared on otherreality shows. Paddy went toNico’s dance school after herhusband David died – andthat’s where it all started.

now called Howie’s served avery good quality meal and itwasn’t at all “canteen like”which is what you get at a lotof restaurants when you goto a function. Theentertainment was first ratetoo! Thanks PAD - goodnight out!Editor says: Yes it was andthey raised around €1000!

Each week for almost fiveand a half years I havewritten a different article

about astronomy. I have coveredeach of the planets individually,as well as the Sun, the Moonand the asteroids. We’ve hadseveral eclipses over the last fiveyears both lunar and solar andI’ve explained how and when towatch them. I have told ofvarious meteor showers thatoccur throughout the year andexplained what causes them. We’ve gone through galaxies, nebulas, red giants, whitedwarfs and even telling scarystories about black holes. I evenran an April fool joke one yearsaying that there would bereduced gravity on the Earth onApril 1st, and that small petsshould be kept in their cagesuntil it was over. I don’t knowhow I got away with itsometimes.

In 271 issues of The News I havetalked about the stars and how theywere formed and how they will die,

the different types of stars and howthey got their names. I’ve pointed outthe various constellations and how torecognise them, you should also be ableto navigate by the stars by now!

Ihave pre-warned about sightings ofthe International Space Station andI had half of Spain believing that if

they waved at the astronauts then theywould lean out of the window and waveback. And how we all miss the launchesof the Space Shuttles and catchingglimpses of it when it was docking withthe ISS. As the 40th anniversaries ofthe Apollo moon landings came round Iwrote a synopsis of each mission and Idid an obituary to Neil Armstrong andSir Patrick Moore when they died.

Do you remember ourdisappointment when ‘TheComet of The Century’, Comet

Ison, fizzled out last Christmas andbecame the damp squib of the century.

I’ve covered flying saucers, astrology, crop circles and E.T. and I evenoffered an explanation for The Star

of Bethlehem, I don’t think I’ve left astone unturned.

But all good things must come topass. I’m back in Liverpool nowwith my wife Marilyn and three

lovely granddaughters’ Chloe (9), Olivia(6) and the bully of them all Emily aged2. I’ve gone back to working in myprevious life as a maintenanceelectrician.

I’ll still be coming back and forth toSpain to do presentations in theEnglish speaking schools and I will

maintain my websitewww.costadelstars.com keeping you upto date with any astronomical events.I’ve even been invited to go to theSahara desert in October to do a seriesof talks under the pitch black skies; Iknow I’m going to get lost with so manystars to see!

My friend Lee Osborne iscontinuing to run theastronomy society that I formed

back in 2007 atwww.astronomycostadelsol. He holdsobserving sessions and regularmeetings and is doing a grand job of it,I highly recommend that you go alongas they are really nice people and havesome fantastic equipment.

Kym Whickham at The News hasbeen a lovely editor and hasbasically given me a free rein to

write whatever I wanted to. Throughher newspaper she has turned me, ahumble Scouse electrician, intosomething of a minor celebrity and I amvery grateful to her.

Ihave had a lovely time writing foryou each week and I hope that youhave enjoyed reading my column as

much as I have enjoyed writing it.

Keep watching the skies and asBuzz Lightyear has been knownto say, ‘to infinity and beyond!’

Thank you and goodnight.

It was the defending worldchampion's second win atthe Circuit of TheAmericas following hisdebut MotoGPsuccess in 2013.However,Marquezdescribed histriumph as a'different kindof race' as heled from theend of theopening lap -when JorgeLorenzopulled in toserve hisjumpstartpenalty, fifth on the grid, Lorenzoshot away so early that hehad time to pause, thenwith the damage alreadydone cut his losses and re-accelerate away before thered lights went out. "I wasn't thinking and

was distracted and I madea big mistake in the start,"said the Movistar Yamaharider. “When I arrived forthe start I had a lot ofmosquitoes on my helmetso I took a tear off, which Inever do and for sure thisdistracted my focus alittle”. Marquez gave his

supporters a heart in themouth moment as he

almost tucked the front ofhis Repsol Honda at thefinal turn. Team mateDani Pedrosa came insecond over 4 secondsback. The fight for third was

closer with AndreaIannone holding the finalpodium place for much ofthe race before StefanBradl and AndreaDovizioso burst past withsix laps to go. Dovizioso,Bradl and Bradley Smiththen spent the closingstages dicing for third. Struggling with 'flu,

Dovizioso clung on toclaim Ducati's firstMotoGP podium since

2012. Dovizioso's team-mate Cal Crutchlow pitted for a new rear tyre thensuffered a big accident atturn two and wasimmediately seenremoving his glove andchecking his right handbefore being carried awayon a stretcher.“I'm really happy with

the victory. We did adifferent kind of race – Inever led a race from thefirst lap until the endbefore,” said Marquez."When I saw Jorgeovertake me off the line atfirst I was a little worried, but then I saw that he hadjumped the start. “It was

difficult to keep theconcentration and I lost alittle bit of concentrationon the last lap because therace was too quiet, so for

my mechanicsand my family Ijust went slowon the lastcorner!" headded.“Anyway,

we are sohappy forthe 25 pointsbut I knowthat thenext raceswill be alittle bitdifferentbecause

this is one of my favouritetracks and for that reasonthis victory was a little biteasier than the other ones.

Bradley Smith put thedisappointment of hisopening round fall behindhim by finishing a careerbest fifth, as the topYamaha rider, in Sunday'sAustin MotoGP round.

It was a clever race bythe Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider, who responded todecreasing front tyre gripby backing off - anddropping to ninth - beforecharging forwards in thesecond half of the race.

Too easy for Marc Marquez

Marc Marquez admitted he struggled to maintain his concentration as hestormed to a routine victory in the Austin MotoGP.

Stefano Domenicali hasstepped down as Ferrariteam principal following apoor start to the 2014season.The new power unitregulations this year offeredFerrari a chance to end RedBull's dominance, butMercedes is well clear of therest of the field and Ferrarihas only managed a bestresult of fourth in Australia;with Fernando Alonso andRaikkonen finishing 9thand 10th respectively inBahrain. Domenicali hasnow opted to resignfollowing the poor start tothe season, and said he hadtaken the decision to try and"jolt" the team in to success.

"There are certainmoments in the professionallife of each of us where ittakes courage to maketough decisions,"Domenicali said. "It's time toimplement a major change."Again, I take responsibility- as I always have - for thesituation we areexperiencing. It is a choicetaken with the desire to dosomething to give a jolt toour environment and for thesake of this group, which areclosely linked. I sincerelythank all the men and

women of the team, thedrivers and partners for thewonderful relationship wehave had in these years."Iwish you all that you canquickly return to the levelsthat Ferrari deserves."

Marco Mattiacci - CEO ofFerrari North America - hasbeen named as Domenicali'sreplacement.Ferrari has notwon a drivers' championshipsince Kimi Raikkonen in2007, with its lastconstructors' title followinga year later. Domenicalitook on the role of teamprincipal from Jean Todt in2008 and has seen the teamtake 20 victories in thattime. Alonso missed out onthe drivers' championship atthe final race of the seasonin both 2010 and2012.Ferrari president Lucadi Montezemolo was presentat last weekend's BahrainGrand Prix but left the raceearly with both cars unableto challenge for the podium, and has since vowed to“leave no stone unturned toget where we need tobe.“We'll work day andnight to improve, and we'lltake the decisions that weneed to take,” Montezemoloadded.

Beginner PokerA number of people havesaid they do not understandthe game of poker soreading my articles meansnothing to them, so thisweek lets go through thebasic rules of TexasHold'em.Texas Hold'em is

arguably the most popularform of poker. It is widelyconsidered to have the moststrategy of all poker games, yet the rules are quitesimple. Here is how a handof Texas Hold'em is played:1. Hole Cards. Each playeris dealt two cards face down.2. The Flop. Three cardsare dealt face up on thetable.3. The Turn. A fourth cardis dealt to the table.4. The River. Finally, afifth card is dealt to thetable. The five cards on the

table are community cards.Your hand is formed bytaking the best poker handyou can by using any fiveout of the seven cards (5community + 2 hole cards). But remember, all theplayers have access to thecommunity cards. Whenplayed for money, there is around of betting after around of cards is dealt (so four rounds of betting intotal).

Example Hand1. Hole Cards: You aredealt AsQsYour opponentchecks to you. You decide tobet with this hand and oneplayer calls.2. The Flop: The board isAd10c9s Right now, youhave a pair of aces. Youmake a bet and the otherplayer calls.3. The Turn: 10s comes onthe board. You know havetwo pairs, aces and tens. Beaware that if your opponenthas a ten in his hole cards,he now has a three-of-a-kind. However, you also nowhave the potential of hittinga flush if the river card isanother spade. Again, youbet and the player calls.4.The River: 2s comes onthe river. The final board isAd10c10s9s2s You nowhave a flush. You make abet and your opponent calls.5. Showdown: You showyour flush. Your opponentshows Jd10d so he hasthree-of-a-kind. You win.

Now the dealer deals againand we start a new handand repeat the flop, turnand river.

If you really want tolearn the game there is nosubstitute than playing thegame to gain experiencehowever if your playing formoney it is going to cost you

to learn. Now if you want toplay for money you willlearn more quicker than freeplay, I do advise if playingfor money make sure thebankroll you have you canafford to lose and do not playwith the rent money.

I will always advise newplayers to start on line, ifyou live in Spain for me888.es offers the best overthe rest. Sign up with thesite of your choice but do notdeposit money what everfantastic bonus they mayoffer, wait till you have someexperience the depositbonus will still be there at alater time and you may justnot lose it. Spend time onthe free play, it is wild andvery loose because it is notreal money, so you need toplay like it is real moneyand in this mad cyber pokerworld when you start to win,but not until you start towin regular you may be justready for the world of realmoney poker.

Remember start off withthe micro stakes becauseyour going to lose money atthe start and do not move upto higher stakes until youstop depositing and arewinning on a regular basis.Good Luck!

different,” a teary-eyed Watson, who hadproduced surprisinglydisciplined golf for most ofthe week, said before beinghelped into the covetedgreen jacket by last year’sMasters champion AdamScott of Australia.“After giving away that

jacket last year, I wanted itback. I told Adam we couldjust swap it back and forthevery year. I never lovedgreen so much,” added theAmerican, who became the17th player to win theMasters more than once.Spieth, at 20 aiming to

eclipse Tiger Woods by

becoming the youngestplayer to win the Masters, had to settle for a share ofsecond place at five underafter signing off with a 72,finishing level with SwedeJonas Blixt (71). “That was fun, but at the

same time, it hurts rightnow,” Spieth said. “Iwanted to get in contentionon the back nine Sunday, but didn’t come out on top.“Although it sits a little

hard right now, I’ll be backand I can’t wait to be back.It was an incredibleexperience. It was so muchfun, it really was. Even if I

didn’t show it there on theback nine, it was.“I took it all in, standing

ovations for both of us toeach green. It was a dreamcome true. Hats offobviously to Bubba, because when he’s drivingthe ball well out here, he’svery tough to beat.”

Malaga’s Miguel AngelJimenez, at the ripe age of50 and aiming to surpassJack Nicklaus by becomingthe oldest Masters winner, finished a respectablefourth after also carding a71.

Bubba Watson withstood a charging early challenge from playing partner JordanSpieth ( who had 4 birdies in the first six holes ) to clinch the Masters for a secondtime in three years with a three-shot victory at Augusta National on Sunday.

Malaga fail toimpress awayAthletic Bilbao's AritzAduriz struck early in bothhalves to lead Athletic to a3-0 victory over Malaga inLa Liga on Monday.Aduriz took his goal

Bilbao’s six-point gap onfifth-placed Sevilla as theBasque club push towardsa berth in next season’sUEFA Champions League.Bilbao sit fourth in the

La Liga table – whichincludes a spot in thequalifying stages of theChampions League – with62 points.Malaga were behind

after just three minuteswith Aduriz rising at thenear post to head MarkelSusaeta’s corner pastCaballero.Bilbao dominated the

first half but were unableto get past Malaga’s

defence again until theopening minute of thesecond when Susaetamade a move down theright and his low crosspicked out Aduriz, whoscored with his first touch. The goal was Aduriz’s

ninth in seven games andcompleted his secondbrace in succession. In the 62nd minute,

Malaga were well andtruly beaten as Herrera’sstrike from the edge of thearea slipped throughCaballero’s hands and intothe net.Malaga struggled

throughout the 90 minutesto get into the game andfinished having had onlyone real shot on target, nota good performance at allfrom Bernd Schuster's sideThis loss put an end to
