• UK health and fitness industry is the largest in Europe - nearly 6000 operators nationwide

The Origins
• 2008 Andrew Lansley in opposition set up a Public Health Commission looking at a potential ‘Responsibility Deal’
• Chaired by Dave Lewis, Unilever, the PHC produced a report ‘ we’re all in this together’ in May 2009
