Mail Bid Auction Closing Friday April 13, 2018

ULF STRÖM

Conditions of Sale The highest bid by e-mail, post (sorry NO fax) or telephone received until 15 minutes after the last bid past 8 PM US Eastern Daylight Saving Time on Friday April 13, 2018 (2.00AM/02.00 Central European Daylight Saving Time, Saturday April 14, 2018), see also Advice to Bidders, shall be the buyer of each lot, at a maximum of 10% over the second highest bid, or reduced to estimate if there is only one bid over estimate. Please note there is always a backlog of bids at the close of auction, which I have to attend to, before I can close the auction. Bids below estimate will not be reduced. Bids are accepted by lot numbers only. In the case of two identical bids preference is given to the first received. The auctioneer shall have the right to refuse any bid or bids. All bids should be made out in even US Dollars. No bids from minors are accepted. Prices, in US Dollars, are estimates for guidance only. Lots can realize prices above or below estimates. All lots are subject to any reserve price that may be imposed by the seller. All lots are subject to a buyer´s charge of 12.5% on the price realized. The actual cost for shipping as Registered Air Mail Letter Post or insured Air Parcel Post, will be added to all invoices. Payment is due immediately upon receipt of invoice. I always accept the following methods of payment: wire transfer, bank draft drawn on a Swedish bank and cash (by registered air mail); any other method of payment, such as PayPal, upon agreement only. Please note I am not set up to accept credit card payments. Please read the payment instructions sent together with the invoice carefully. If any buyer fails to comply with this, the lot or lots in respect of which the failure is made may at the discretion of the auctioneers be resold by public or private sale. No lots are delivered without full payment of invoice. All items cataloged with greatest care and reflect the generally accepted opinion when the catalog is printed. However, the auctioneer act solely as agent and shall not be responsible for any default by either the buyer or the seller or for any action or claim which may arise in respect of any lot. Requests for adjustments must have been received within 4 weeks after the auction. When settlements are sent to the consignors, no returns will be permitted for any reason. Buyers accepting commissions from other parties do so at their own risk and will remain responsible to the auctioneer for full settlement according to these conditions. By making a bid in this sale the bidder acknowledges his acceptance of these Conditions and shall be bound by them. The parties agree to submit any litigation arising from the sale to the jurisdiction of Stockholms Tingsrätt, which they consider now and henceforth as solely competent in the exclusive application of Swedish law. Advice to Bidders Please send your bids sooner rather than later, as bids are recorded in the order that they are received. If you are late with your bids use e-mail or telephone. All high bids are handled in the strictest confidence and will not be disclosed to anyone. Normally bidding will continue MANY hours past the time given above. If you are bidding on lots you REALLY want, please make sure you enter your maximum bid, leave a phone- or mobile phone number you can be reached on at all times, or monitor your e-mails. It is important to realize that I will try to obtain the lot bid on for the lowest possible price, at a maximum of 10% over the next highest bid, and I fully appreciate the fact that the bids given are the maximum figure that the bidder is prepared to pay for any lot. I am happy to handle bids for customers who are interested in a number of lots but only wish to spend a limited amount of money. Enter your bids in the order you want them, mark “Lots entered in order of priority” and clearly state your limit of winning bids. In a similar way if you wish to bid on a choice of two, or more, items, clearly mark your bids ”either/or...”. PLEASE E-MAIL YOUR BIDS TO MAKE SURE THEY ARRIVE BEFORE CLOSING DATE; POSTAL SERVICES ARE OFTEN VERY SLOW. Please remember to give full details as to how the lot is to be dispatched, unless you accept I send as insured registered air mail or for bulky or heavy lots as air parcel post. All other methods of shipping at the risk of the purchaser. Successful bidders will be sent an invoice immediately following the closing date. Front cover illustrations: Lot 39. Amsterdam 1928. IOC Badge with brown International Federation ribbon and orange cockard.
