Victor-Farmington Club Activities By Dave Luitweiller

WENSDAY - Judy and I picked our guests up at Karen Parkhurst's residence and we were off for our first stop of the morning, a tour of "The Furniture Doctor" operation on Rt. 5 & 20 in Bloomfield. (Photos 1, 2, 3). Our goal was to provide the Marsiglia's with an example of a small business operation in our local area. The owner, Tom Baker, a former Sodus Rotarian, provided a very inter-esting tour of his business which includes furniture restoration, antiques, clock repairs, etc. The business is far more extensive than we imagined. Tom employs a team of skilled craftsmen, both at Bloomfield location and other areas. Next stop the Canandaigua National Bank (CNB), Victor Office, (Photo 4) where the bank manager, and V-F Rotarian, Kelly Coch-rane, provided our guests with a presentation of the role of CNB as a community bank. Kelly also provided some historical informa-tion on the bank and produced some bank ledgers from circa 1880's for examination. A tour of the bank concluded the visit. Next to Victor Central School where we met up with Canandaigua Rotarian John Spare and his guests, Governor Elect David Drake (NZ) and his wife Carol Sherry Laskey from VCS provided us an informative tour of the sprawling VCS campus - with a student population in excess of 4,200 - including both primary, JR HS and Senior HS (Photos 5 & 6) Thursday we had lots of snow so the Marsiglia's decided they wanted to purchase some snow boots and warm socks - so - we were off to East View Mall. (Photos 7& 8) At the end of day took the Marsiglia's to our home for a few hours relaxation and 'down time' prior to the evening events. Both Juan Carlos and Maria quickly became pals with our dog, Daisy May. (Photo 9) Other activities - Finger Lakes wine and food at Mc Ghan’s Pub in Victor, Guest speaker at our Rotary Club - Victor-Farmington, & A good bye dinner at Schooners in Canandaigua on Friday .

Letter from Deanna

TO: Milt Matthews Governor-Elect Hospitality Program Alumni Dear Governors-Elect and Family Members: It was a pleasure working with you those many months as we all prepared for your visit to D7120 in January. I enjoyed meeting you at the Airport and then becoming more acquainted during your stay. I do hope that one day we will meet again. Congratulations on becoming Governors of your districts, and I send best wishes to each of you for a successful 2011-2012 year. Yours in Rotary, Deanna
