Although not required, these people are ordinarily nominated from among the college Liaison Group to ensure a synergy across our work. As there has recently become a vacancy on the University Council, the Liaison Group has also agreed to nominate the Revd Dr Tim Macquiban as one of those two members (alongside the Chair of the Southlands Liaison Group). The appointment is formally made by the university, and as such this nomination does not act as confirmation, but is required for the university to take action.

The Council is therefore asked to approve the membership of the Southlands Liaison Group and the Southlands Methodist Trust as listed above, and to approve the nomination of Tim Macquiban also as a member of the University Council, for ratification by the university in due course (see resolution 81/2).
