PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS God's prophet Malachi challenges us to test God in our tithes and offerings, and "see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it." (Mal 3:10). Indeed, that feeling you have from knowing you gave God a tenth of your earnings speaks for itself, and the success of
the ministry at St. Paul is directly impacted by our ability to sustain ourselves and expand our resources. Giving brings good cheer and blessings (Acts 20:35), which God loves (2 Cor 9:7). While as Christians we are not compelled by the law to give as a requirement of salvation or church membership, it is still true that the one who sows sparingly will reap sparingly (Matt 25:14–30; 2 Cor 9:6), the worker deserves his wages (1 Tim 5:18), and tithing (giving 10% of your income) is the standard Biblical precedent (Gen 14:20; 28:22; Lev 27:30, 32; Num 18:24, 26, 28; Deut 12:6, 11, 17; 14:22–24, 27; 26:12; 2 Chron 31:5–6, 12; Neh 10:37–38; 12:44; 13:5, 12; Amos 4:4; Mal 3:10; Heb 7:2–9). Imagine it. If every member of St. Paul gave 10% of their income to the Lord, how blessed we would be, both personally and corporately! Not only could we pay our regular bills with ease, but we would be able to double, triple, quadruple our ministry opportunities. We would be able to expand our staff to in-clude more variegated experts, like a Family Life director, a deaconess, even a second pastor. We would be able to sustain bigger outreach projects, better support Albion Interfaith Ministries, create awareness through professional advertisement. We would be able to offer our workers—both here and at Little Lambs—wages more closely aligned with their skills, education, and cost of living. We would be able to update and renovate our properties without worry. The sky would be the limit. Imagine it. In 2013, you bought, renovated, and opened Little Lambs of Jesus Preschool & Childcare Center for fewer bucks than our endowment fund receives in interest in less than half a year. Not a dime from the regular tithes and offerings went towards it. Now, the Center is bursting at the seams and op-erating with barely the need for any financial assistance from the church. But more can be done. More can always be done. Imagine if we took God at His word and tested him on our tithes and offerings. If Little Lambs is an indication of His blessings without our tithes and offerings, imagine what He might do with them! Again, thank you. I realize that some have financial difficulties (so much the better that the Biblical stan-dard is a percentage rather than a base amount). Some people are more likely to give to a specific pro-gram or cause, rather than a plate moving past them on a Sunday morning. Some people desire to give but lack the fiscal organization skills or discipline. The Stewardship & Outreach board is aware of these issues and has been discussing plans to better assist you in your faithfulness. This letter is one of those plans. Each Sunday, when I take the collection plates from the ushers, I turn towards the altar and I raise them up to God and I mutter this simple prayer: "Lord, let this be a proportionate offering and a pleasing sac-rifice through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen." You can do it. Test God with your tithe. Watch your spiritual life improve. Watch your trust in Him and His provision improve. Watch your congregation improve. Blow the roof off that budget. Encour-age, plan, vote, volunteer, grow, grow, grow. Let's put our money where our mouth is. Let's tithe together. -Pastor

Little Lambs of Jesus Preschool & Childcare Center Hello from the Center,
One word describes the way things are going up here lately...BUSY! Now, don't get me wrong,
busy means that we have plenty of things going on. And we do. We have many children to care
for, cleaning to do, papers to file, dishes to wash, laundry to do, toys to sanitize, and the list goes on. But, busy also means that we are still short on staff so many of us are filling in the
gaps. We are trying to anyways. We are sad to report that Ms. Katie will soon be leaving us for a job with Lakeview schools. As of now, I do not know
the exact date. To say she will be missed by the kids, their families and our staff would be a great understatement. We
love her and we wish her the best. Our center will not be the same without her and all of her creativity. However, I am very happy to report that Chelsea is returning. Yes, she is!!! My heart leaps with joy in knowing she will once again be
loving our babies and filling our center with her happy self! She will return to the infant room and resume her role as lead caregiver. She will also be returning to us 3 months pregnant! NOW that is great news too! I get to love on that
baby so it's all good. God, I thank you for answering yet another prayer in sending us Chelsea. :). Sarah Siscoe is back and working 2 days a week while also taking a load of college courses. I love having her back, she's awesome! Thanks
God for her too. We have hired Ammie Miller to help in Katie's room on a part time basis. She will come with lots of
experience and I know she will do fine. Things are a changin'. Please, please, please keep our efforts to hire good Christian workers in your prayers. We know God has this all planned out, and we must be patient. THAT is not easy!
We continue to search for ways to accommodate our demands for growth. ALL rooms currently are full with no relief in sight. Good? Yes. Bad? Yes. Prayers needed? Yes!
Both preschool classes recently had "donuts with dads". Dads came and spent some quality time with their child and
enjoyed donuts and cider too! They are heading to the apple orchard soon for a fun field trip, weather permitting. We have room for a few 4 year olds still but the 3 year old class is full. Really full :)
Our toddlers continue to try and "rule the roost". Those little bodies are some of the most energetic things I've ever seen. They love to run, scream, throw, and cause quite a ruckus, and they do it very well. However, those little people
are some of the most loving children you'll ever meet. Ask Ms. Kim how great it feels when they stop in the office on their way in or outside, and give her a huge hug. Kim's face tells it all! They are an amazing group of God’s little lambs.
Truly a blessing to our center.
Thanksgiving is coming up. A time to reflect on all things we are blessed with. For many, it's our families and our health among other things. While I am very thankful for all of those things, I am most thankful for my faith. In saying
that, I must also say that I am extremely thankful for my parents, especially my mom, who brought me up in a home filled with faith and love. There has been no greater gift given to me than my faith, thanks mom for showing me the
way. Because of my faith, I realize how important it is to share that with others so that they too can know Jesus. So,
thank you God for Little Lambs of Jesus Preschool & Childcare Center. Here, we share Jesus. There can be no greater gift to be thankful for
than that. None. In Him,
Dana & Jenny

Our annual Fall Festival on October 10 went very well. A big thanks to those who helped and donated food and crafts. The proceeds will go to help with the 50 food baskets St. Paul distributes to the needy at Christmas.
The German Dinner was well attended. We don’t have the profit figured yet. Thanks to all who helped in any way.
Don’t forget to turn your clock back on Saturday night, October 31 so you won’t be early for church on November 1.
The Family Fun Night for kids of the Center and St. Paul Sunday School was a huge suc-
cess. I hope no one ate too much candy and got a tummy ache. I think the adults who gave out candy and other surprises had as much fun as the kids did. Thank you to all
those who worked so hard to make the night a great one for our little trick or treaters. The parents had a great time, too.
Are you a stamp collector, or do you know someone who is? We have a 4ȼ Lincoln
stamp from 1962 in very good condition in the church office. Come and get it!
We sure have had some beautiful sunrises and sunsets. God blesses us so very much. To HIM be the glory!

Healthy Babies Day—Thank you for the many items of clothing, diapers, gas
cards, and snacks that were donated to Healthy Babies Day, held on September 26 for the Albion community. Fifty plus baskets were given out to moms and dads that
came. Thank you to Elaine Seedorf and Marilyn Shultz for helping at our booth and giving out free clothing. Becky Eric-son did a wonderful job with her booth on Breast Feeding and information. Becky had a Lactation Specialist from Alle-
giance Hospital join her. Thank you, many moms benefited from coming to your booth on that day. Sara Beilfuss and
mom, Michelle had childcare in the school gym so moms and dads could go through all the booths offered. Thank you for all you did.
The Kid-to-Kid Shop is getting more business. The more publicity we get about our shop the more business we get.

Thank you to everyone who helped with the German Dinner. It takes
many, many people to put this on.
St. Paul has proven once again it is a great congregation with lots of love and energy. It’s a
pleasure to be a part of that.
Your congregation helped so much in so many ways to
make this years Healthy Babies Day a huge success. I know Sandi Mauntel has written you a thank you note,
but I would be amiss if I didn’t write one as well. We appreciate what you did for us, we appreciate what
you do for our community.

RE: Estate of Jon K. Jenkins
I am the Personal Representative for the estate of my
husband, Jon K. Jenkins, who died on March 8, 2015. Jon’s Last Will and Testament contains a bequest to the
Endowment Fund of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Albion.
Jon and I moved to Albion during the first year of our
married life (1970). Jon appreciated the formal structure of the liturgy; I was acquainted with the Missouri Synod’s
firm commitment to Scripture and had, in the course of my studies in music studied the structure of the Mass
and its contribution to the history of music. I thank God for the time we were given to hear God’s Word under
Pastor Eugene Lauterbach’s instruction, and I appreci-
ated being part of the choir for a time. May you continue to be upheld by God’s grace in your
work and witness in Albion.
Sincerely, Alix Jenkins This contains excerpts from the letter received on 9/24/15.
Our heartfelt sympathy to the families of:
Robert & Naomi Siscoe, father & stepmother of Bob Siscoe who passed away on October 17 & 16.
Ben Sloan, father of one of our former Little Lambs Bentley Sloan who passed away. Ben is survived by his wife and 3 small children.
Nick Fuentes Sr., friend of Cookie Kreger and family.
Our prayers are with you in your time of sorrow.
Thank you all for the month of October.
Pastor Appreciation Month overwhelmed me with gifts and cards, pleasantries and love. A special
thanks to my preschoolers, who filled a laundry basket with my favorite junk food!
—Love always, Pastor
