Imagine No Malaria

It is hard to imagine that Malaria claims so many lives when it is preventable and treatable in 2014.

United Methodists have imagined a different reality. Our global church has joined with other denominations and health organizations to IMAGINE NO MALARIA.

For 8 years, we have intentionally focused our attention and resources to end deaths caused by Malaria. $60 million has been contributed and made a huge impact on saving lives.

You are invited to join this effort by making a contribution that will be used to provide bed nets to protect children and families from mosquito bites in sub-Sahara Africa.

Perry UMC will join with other churches in South Georgia in collecting an offering to be taken to our Annual Conference session in June.

Prepare yourself and your family to make a gift at the communion rail on May 4 and June 1. Every $10 contributed will provide a net that will save a family.

How many nets will PUMC be able to contribute? Wouldn’t it be great if we could reach a goal of 100 nets?

Baccalaureate Sunday

On Sunday, May 11, 2014, we will have our Baccalaureate service during our 11:00 a.m. worship service. A luncheon honoring the 2014 graduates and their families will be held in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.

Congratulations to the Senior Class of 2014.

From the Music Department…..

Many thanks to all who participate in our music ministries. Holy Week, Easter, and the spring musical programs have been

inspiring and uplifting. We have been richly blessed by the harmonies and musical sounds heard in choir voices, soloists,

handbells, and instrumentalists. Thanks to Sheryl McDaniel for her consistently outstanding work at the piano.

The support of our staff and congregation offers great encouragement and affirmation of our music ministry.

Blessings,

Jane

We celebrate our sweet mamas this month and

we sure do have some amazing moms in the

Children’s Department. Since September 9th

of last year, a group of moms have gathered

each Monday for a connectional Bible study

and various mission projects. It has been a

great time of fellowship and encouragement

and many new friendships have been made. This group will

celebrate our time together by going to see the new faith film

coming out Mother’s Day Weekend, Mom’s Night Out, on May

9th. If other mothers would like to join us, please contact Krissy

for details. Thanks to all the moms, past, present, and expecting,

who support our children’s ministry here at Perry UMC!
