Message in a Bottle Log Book
These positions were taken by the satellite tracker which was contained within the capsule. A signal was sent every two days.
The signal reached our website from where we could up load it onto our map.
We did not expect the capsule to travel so fast, or to reach land so quickly. Because of this the battery in the tracker had a lifespan of 18 months!
So we will be launching the capsule again in November 2010 when we travel back across the ocean from Canada to Britain.

How do ocean currents affect climate?
• Six cities are marked on the map in green? What do you notice about how the cities are paired?
• Use the worksheet for each city to draw a graph showing: - temperature throughout the year. - rainfall throughout the year
What effect do ocean currents have on each city?
What are the similarities and differences?
Exploring the climate…..THE COLD NORTH
Name…………………….

What do you notice are the differences between the two cities?
Name…………………….Exploring the climate…….THE SOUTHERN TROPICS
