one day he realised how much deeply he loved that girl. he was just 14 years. but madly in love with his school mate Rashmi.

Rashmi was a year juniour to him. She was very attractive. she had an aura whichmade every individual look at her. She was

the envy of her class. She was from a business family. Her father Shri RajKumar

Kewalramani was a well known builder. Her

mother Gita Kewalramani a famous socialite.Sushmit was one of the class toppers. He was a good orator and a famous athlete.Rashmi too was fond of his various

achevements and unmatched academic record. Sushmit had a good fan following in his school and society. His teachers had great

expectations from him. He was a great cicketer. A good batsman. He had recenty equalled Sunil Gavaskar's under 15 record of

    highest run in the series.

Though a good orator, still he was a shy person. He was good team player but after the match or school he always loved to be

alone. He ived wth his maternal uncle who was a doctor. He had no father and hismother stayed in his ancesteral poperty to

look after his grandfather and grandmother. since he was two years old he was brought up by his uncle and aunt for whom he

had high regards. Sushmit was always aware of his responsibility. His family was

    orthodox and conservative. Though Sushmit

was very open minded still he never did any thing to annoy his gaurdians.

But one day while he was in school, this incident happened. He was called by hishistory teacher for some important work. he

was a student of class ninth and the history teacher Miss Lydia D'Costa was a class teacher of class eight for girls section.

Rashmi was her favorite student as well. His maths teacher had allowed him ten minutes to attend Miss Lydia and be back to

his class. Sushmit was in hurry as he had to walk from one building to another. So he had to run. The moment he reached the

door of class eight he was struck by a wooden duster that came flying from the class. It hit him hard on his forehead.

Sushmit had faced many bouncers on the field but was taken by surprise by this and was in agony. He found himself sitting on

the floor atthe door of class eight. The noise in the classroom suddenly went topindrop silence. Miss Lydia came running at

the door from another class. She had been attending one of the student of another class. She picked up Sushmit and helped him

to her chair. She made him sit there. In the entire class Sushmit was the only boy. A sheep among the group of the Jackals.

But currently the Jackals were silent and trembling as Miss Lydia was known forher discipline. She asked one of the girl to

get a glass of water. Then turning towards the class she questioned as who threw

the wooden duster on Sushmit. A tall and

beautiful girl stepped forward. She was the class monitor. Her face showed thatshe was sorry for what happened and it was

unintentional. This girl was none other than Rashmi. This was Sushmit's first encounter with Rashmi. He was watching her

first time. He had heard about her beauty but never imagined that she could be so beautiful. Sushmit felt his heartbeat go

fast. Rashmi was standing in frontof him saying sorry and he was lost on her fac

    e. Miss Lydia sensing what Sushmit was

feeling immediately shaked Sushmit and ased him to forgive her and with a smiletook Sushmit out of the class and told him

that she will speak to him tomorrow.

After this incident Sushmit always seemed to be lost in thoughts. He was presentin the class but absent minded. Miss Lydia

sensed this and decided to speak to him. She always liked Sushmit for his well manners and achievements. This was the first

time too that she was not angry on a boy who was in love. Usually she never supported such response from other boys if she

found them loittering in front of her class. But somehow she decided to supportSushmit. So after her lecture was over in

Sushmit's class she asked him to see her in staff room during interval. Sushmitunaware of the reason went to the staff room

during interval. Miss lydia along with another lady teacher who also happened tobe her fast friend Miss Carol, welcomed

Sushmit and the three sat in one corner. Making it look like a routine feed backsession, Miss lydia asked Sushmit as what he

felt about Rashmi. Sushmit was dumb struck and did not know what to say. But then Lydia made him comfortable and got the

confession from horses mouth. Miss Lydia promised him that she will help him provided he again became attentive in the class.

Sushmit was on top of the world. After the school he was in very happy mood.He was sure that with Miss lydia on his side,

Rashmi would not say no. He reached home early. But then he realised that the mo

od in the house was not good. His uncle was

home early. Already two bags which were packed was lying in the room. His uncle

made him sit with him and told him that they

were leaving to his native place. His mother had met an accident and lost her leg. Now he could not stay here any longer

because she and his grandparents needed him the most.

    Sushmit had no other options.
