The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

We showed you a clip of the film previously because in the story,

the characters first live in London during the

Blitz and then they are evacuated to a house in

the countryside.

Looking: 1. How many children are there altogether? What are their names? 2. Why did the children decide to explore the house instead of exploring

outside?3. What kind of clothes were inside the wardrobe that Lucy explores?

Clue: Find at least one piece of evidence to show:

1. Peter is happy to be at the Professor’s house2. Edmund thinks his older sister Susan is bossy3. The Professor’s house is large4. Lucy is curious

If possible, we’d love it if you could wear some sort of 1940’s-

themed costume. This doesn’t have to be anything fancy –

even just a white shirt will do! Here’s

some inspiration but you could do your

own research…

The Fifth Pillar of Islam: Hajj

Your task is to think of one place that you would like to make a journey to if you could – it should be a place that could help

to make you be a better person. Could it be the North Pole to see the melting ice caps and help you to then think about how you could help to protect the environment? Or

perhaps to a country where you have a family member living who could teach you some important things?

1. Why have you chosen this place? What makes it special to you?

2. Who would you go with?3. What would you take with you?

4. How would you get there?5. What would you do when you got there?

6. What would you think about?

Answer these questions in your book in full sentences and

then find or draw some pictures of this place to add to your work.

The fourth Pillar of Islam is Hajj: At least once in their lifetime, every good Muslim (as long as they are healthy enough to travel) should make the long journey to the city of Mecca which is a very

important holy place for Muslims.

Once a year, Muslims go there to pray together with their fellow Muslims to show that everyone is equal in the eyes of Allah (God). This happens during the month of Dhul Hijjah, the twelfth month in

the Islamic calendar.
