TEACHING PHILOSOPHY The Links at Brunello Teaching Professionals will help golfers reach their goals, emphasize the
individual’s unique set of skills and use each players own strengths and weaknesses to plan appropriate
instruction, practice and play. Instructors will analyze golfer’s swings and pay close attention to ball
flight - teaching to the individual, not a model.
APPROACH The Links at Brunello Golf Academy offers professional golf instruction taught by a select team of PGA of
Canada Professionals.
A wide variety of programs are available to satisfy any golfer, beginner and up.
Our Professionals tailor their instruction to fit the student and their goals using all resources including
video; launch technology; training aids; drills and equipment fitting.
The Golf Academy’s commitment to player improvement and development goes beyond the lesson tee
with personalized practice plans and follow-up notes or video and picture emails to provide instruction
day to day or with a program for an entire season and beyond.
The end goal for each student is to develop maximum consistency, creating solid shots and a lifetime of
enjoyment from the game of golf.

PROFESSIONAL STAFF:
Trevor Macpherson, Senior Teaching Professional
Trevor brings to The Links at Brunello a wealth of professional and personal experience in the
golf industry.
15 years PGA of Canada
Born in northern New Brunswick, Trevor grew up playing Restigouche G&CC.
Graduate of Saint Francis Xavier University
7 years in California working and playing out of Las Positas.
12 years at The Links at Montague.
Trevor enjoys playing the guitar, fishing and spending time with his wife and 4 beautiful kids.
Floyd Otto, Senior Associate Professional
Floyd has golf experience in a variety of regions and courses, working and competing in New
England, Ontario and now Nova Scotia. He comes to us from Beacon Hall where he spent the
last 4 years.
Born in Concord New Hampshire, Floyd grew up playing Beaver Meadow GC.
Graduate Dalhousie University.
Floyd has 8 years in the PGA of Canada and is a member of the PGA of America (13 years) and is
certified in Golf Operations.
When not at the golf course, Floyd enjoys spending time with his Wife, son and dog.
Steve Larisey, Associate Professional
Teaching comes naturally to Steve coming to The Links at Brunello with a background in
education and instruction both in, and out, of the golf industry. Working as a school teacher and
coach, Steve embraced differentiated instruction of varied learning styles.
15 years PGA of Canada
Born in Dartmouth Nova Scotia, Steve grew up playing Brightwood G&CC.
Graduate Dalhousie University & University of Maine
Traveling west, starting in the golf industry at The Banff Springs Golf Course, Steve turned
Professional in Victoria, BC; spending 7 years at Olympic View G&CC.
Attended the 1999 Canadian Tour Q-School, followed early events of 1999 Canadian Tour before
owning and establishing Vision Golf in Calgary, specializing in digital video analysis and
instruction.
Embracing instruction, Steve helped established teaching programs at several courses
throughout Alberta.
When not playing golf, Steve enjoys mountain biking, and hiking with his dog. NOTE: From time to time based on demand, other area PGA Professionals will support the Golf Academy events and programs

WHY GET FIT? Fitting is an investment. And akin to instruction, there is no one way solution for every golfer.
Golf equipment off the rack does not fit each individual. Clubs are made to be fit and checked
or retrofit each year. The Links at Brunello Golf Academy excels in insuring our clients have
equipment that is properly fit to maximize their golfing enjoyment and reach their individual
goals. Clubs need to fit golfers of any handicap, having them recognize the benefits, just as
much as an elite tour player does. Below are some examples of how fitting can help you.
Fitting Applications - Lie Angle
The lie angle of your irons is one factor of club fitting that will directly affect your ball
flight and direction. With the proper angle, you will hit straighter shots and swing
without compensation. An improper lie angle may lead to swing compensations in your
technique or golf shots that are off-line. 1 degree too upright or flat with a 9 iron may
lead to up to 30 feet of misdirection.

Shaft Launch and Spin Comparisons
Golf shafts are more than just different flexes. There are many brands and models to provide a variety of launches, spins, weights, torques and materials. Our professional staff can evaluate a golfer using our Trackman system to help add distance and improved accuracy to their strikes, often with alarming results.

Distance Gapping
Distance gapping is beneficial with all clubs, especially wedges. There are increasingly more wedge options available with regards to their loft, bounce & grind. Our ability to track exact ball flight and follow the club head with our Trackman’s Doppler radar, allows us to precisely recommend the proper loft gapping and understand the golfer’s swing in order to adjust for proper bounce angles.

technology of Trackman. Empirical data produced
from following the club and ball allows our staff to
work with the golfer to find the best fitting shaft,
head, lie, loft, length and weight combination. Our
staff is dedicated to your success and uses state of

your goals.

There will be a number of Demo & Fitting dates throughout the season at The Links at Brunello that will
showcase and be supported by some of golf’s leading equipment manufacturers. Stay tuned for further

Battle of the Brands (Saturday, May 23rd)
The Links at Brunello presents The Battle of the Brands Demo Day taking place on Saturday, May 23rd
from 12-4pm. Golf’s leading manufacturers: Taylor Made, Titleist and Callaway will be on site at the
Links at Brunello Academy to introduce you to your new equipment for the upcoming season; and get a
free dozen balls with a driver purchase! Start your memorable first season with The Links at Brunello
getting the most out of your gear, and the most out of your game. See our Battle of the Brands poster
on the final page.

Custom club fitting fees are credited towards equipment purchases at time of fitting or at a later date. Example; a $50 fit fee is paid by a golfer for a session, that golfer orders a $400
driver the next day, the golfer will then pay the balance of $350 for said driver.

A new 2015 rental fleet of Junior equipment is color coded based on height to fit Junior golfers
of any size.

Since 1997, ULTRALIGHT has been the industry standard for junior golf equipment. While other
manufacturers offer a few sizes for a wide range of ages, U.S. Kids Golf offers nine sizes of
Ultralight clubs and each set is made for players within a height range of just three inches.
Young players can easily develop faster club head speeds because Ultralight clubs are 10 to 30
percent lighter than adult clubs. Shaft flexes are built for the specific club lengths and grips are
made to fit in young players' hands. The result of all this engineering is a line of clubs that will
