Musical Photo Album: Introduction/Message:

Music is art, science, history, sound and everything that we can hear. It is inevitable and each person can see and distinguish music from our environment, music itself is creative and fun. Every person enjoys and listens to music every day and what I want to exhibit in my photo album is how music can be so diverse, creative, enchanting and beautiful through edited images, by using the Gimp program. I wanted to depict my perception of music and how joyful, innovative, interesting and abstract music can be. Through the seven images that are going to be shown, many different images and techniques were used to try and change or give a message, feeling or perception to that image. Music has been essential and a big part of my life and this photo album honors, praise, admires and transmits emotions with pictures that somehow represent something musical or related to this art, the amazing art of music. Note: All original images contained or came with the phrase, “freedigitalphotos.net” and a blue figure somewhere inside the image, so I had to erase or hide those words and the figure as well as I could. (Techniques) 1. Use the free select tool to cut guy from image. 2. Copy and paste image that was just selected into the other image or background. 3. Use the color picker and paint with the Airbrush tool to hide or paint over the

words from original image. 4. Grade and Flare under light and shadow in the filters. 5. Gradient to make diagonal strip along guy.

6. Brightness- Contrast, Hue- Saturation and color balance: under Color option.

1. Used bucket fill tool to paint a background and also white spaces within the half notes and little circles under them.

2. Used filters such as: the hidden planet, sparkle, under light and shadow option and also the blur filter.

3. Brightness- Contrast 4. Curves (Both under colors option 3,4).

1. Use Free Select Tool to copy microphone and paste it into the other image with color background.

2. Blur Filter. 3. Lens Flare Filter and Lighting Effects under Light and Shadow. 4. Gradient Flare- Distant Sun Filter under Light and Shadow. 5. Adjust Brightness and Contrast.

Image 6: Violin Parts

1. Create New Blank Image 2. Copy and Paste the 3 different images into the blank new image and place them

just one on top of another, without overlapping.

3. Erase the background from all images. 4. Rotate the upper part of the violin image 180 degrees, so it is now upwards. 5. Blur Edges. 6. Create new layer and use Skyline Gradient. 7. Adjust Brightness and Contrast.

Image 7: The past vs. the Present

1. Pick background color and paint with Air Brush tool- Sparks in the Violin Image. 2. Copy that image and paste it into the other image. 3. With the move tool, move it to the right side, overlapping the other image. 4. Under image tool select Fit Canvas to Layers. 5. Scale the images, if needed make both the same size. Also used crop to make both

images the same size. 6. Under layer option, add a mask. 7. Gradient- blend both images. 8. Adjust Brightness and Contrast.

Music is good! Enjoy it the way you like and how you see it, music is fun, creative, genuine, artistic and emotional. Listen to music, appreciate music, it is the imaginative and fantastic piece of our lives! Thank you for watching!!!
