• Sept 1, 2010 – All US Combat missions in Iraq ended – although 50,000 US troops are still in Iraq

• Designed to protect the US from other terrorist attacks, accidents, and natural disasters

• Terrorist attacks continued throughout the world after 9/11

• 2002 – Car bombing: Indonesia

• 2004 – Train bombing: Spain

• 2005 – Bus bombings: London

• 2006 – Train bombing: India

• 2008 – Shootings/bombings: India

• However, many terrorist plots have been foiled before they happened

• Over 20 since 9/11

Health Issues

• Because of the collapse of the World Trade Center buildings, many people are currently experiencing health problems

• Respiratory problems are most common from toxic fumes and dust

Economic Problems

• After 9/11, stocks dropped significantly

• Lost $1.4 trillion in value in a week

• They eventually recovered, but the economy has never been the same since 9/11
