Hansen Foundation and the Fort Hays State University Foundation have a long-standing relationship that was recently strengthened with a $3 million gift in support of our great university. These funds will be used to build the “Dane G. Hansen Scholarship Hall,” which will house 32 students on our campus. Not only is this the 2nd largest gift ever made to Fort Hays State from one single entity, but the Dane G. Hansen Foundation is now our largest lifetime donor. In our 2014 fiscal year, 7,819 donors gave more than $6.2 million to FHSU. With that, 48% went to Scholarships, 40% to Departmental use, and the remaining 12% for unrestricted (building maintence, etc) use. Your FHSU Foundation’s investment return for the year ending June 30, 2014, was #1 in the state of Kansas, #1 in the MIAA, and in the top percentile in the United States at 20.5%. These numbers are according to recently released national rankings from the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO).
