God’s Plan for Salvation

Page 11: The Kingdom of God The Gospel of Jesus Christ

12

What does salvation mean? Why do we need salvation? How do we get

to heaven? Is salvation really a free gift from God? Have you ever

prayed a prayer for salvation? Do you know that our souls will live for

eternity either in heaven or hell?

Have you ever heard of the Roman’s Road? The Roman’s Road will take

you through the Bible verses and show you the way. Read through the

Bible verses in the Romans Road.

Romans Road

Romans 3:10

10

As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one.

Romans 5:8

8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet

sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:12

12

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin;

and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.

Romans 6:23

23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through

Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 10:9-10

9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt

believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt

be saved. 10

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and

with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Page 12: The Kingdom of God The Gospel of Jesus Christ

13

Romans 10:13

13

For whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10:17

17

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

The Holy Bible

Page 15: The Kingdom of God The Gospel of Jesus Christ

16

Do you have a Holy Bible? Have you ever read the Holy Bible? Have you

ever heard the expression for the letters in the BIBLE: Basic Instruction

Before Leaving Earth? What is your favorite book of the Bible? What is

your favorite Bible verse? Have you ever opened the Bible and the

scripture verse stood out to you? Has your Bible ever come alive when

you were studying or reading it? Do you listen to the Holy Bible in your

spare time? Do you watch Bible-based preaching on television? Do you

hear the Holy Bible being taught from the pulpit of God’s church, and do

they teach repentance, turning from sin? Does your Bible have a

concordance in the back of it?

God longs to share His mysteries with you when you read the Bible. He

longs to have a relationship with you, one that is based on the truth and

not what the world tells you.

Chapter 4

Baptism

Page 17: The Kingdom of God The Gospel of Jesus Christ

18

What is baptism? Have you ever been baptized in water? If you have

never been baptized in water are you ready to get baptized now? What

is the proper way to get baptized?

God demonstrates the proper way to baptize in water by how Jesus was

baptized but He understands that a river is not always available for

baptisms and may guide us to baptize in another way.

The Bible shows us that Jesus was not baptized as a baby but he did

make a decision to be baptized later in his life.

A baby can be dedicated to the Lord. An infant baptism is one way

people have dedicated their children to God but once a child becomes

old enough to understand the gospel they should make a decision to

follow the Lord and to be baptized for themselves.

There is an age of accountability by which if a minor child dies they may

not go to heaven if they are not yet born-again and baptized. To some

the age accountability could be about 12 years old and parents should

highly consider setting a standard and structure that a child may follow

so that they too can have eternal life.

Work Out Your Salvation

Page 37: The Kingdom of God The Gospel of Jesus Christ

38

As you follow Jesus make sure that you stay on a narrow road. With a

teachable spirit He will guide you to the truths of His Holy Bible. This

warning to work out your salvation with fear and trembling will show

you that although God is full of grace and mercy, He shall not be

mocked.

Have you heard a false grace message taught where repentance is not

required and grace is used as an excuse to sin?

God’s grace is for Him to decide. If someone who thought they were

going to go to heaven ends up in hell, was God’s grace sufficient? One

second in hell is too late to repent. Live holy and take your journey on

earth seriously.

Do great things for God while you are here on earth. Two important

things to do in your lifetime are to live holy lifestyles and to lead people

to the narrow road for salvation through God’s Son Jesus Christ for all

eternity. Don’t give up. Work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

Answer these questions:

1 Where is this warning in the Bible: “Again the word of the Lord

came to me, saying, “Son of man, speak to the children of your people,

and say to them: ‘When I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of

the land take a man from their territory and make him their watchman,

when he sees the sword coming upon the land, if he blows the trumpet

and warns the people, then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and

does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his

blood shall be on his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet, but

did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But he who takes

warning will save his life. But if the watchman sees the sword coming

and does not blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the

sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is taken away

in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.’ “So

you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel;

therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me.

When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you shall surely die!’ and you

do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die

in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. Nevertheless if

you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his

way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.”?

2 Where is this warning in the Bible: “Therefore, my beloved, as

you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much

more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and

trembling”?

3 The Bible says that God shall not be mocked. What Bible verse

listed is that in?

4 Where is this warning in the Holy Bible: “Flee sexual immorality.

Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits

sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that

your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have

from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price;

therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”?

Finding a Church

Page 41: The Kingdom of God The Gospel of Jesus Christ

42

Do you have a church which you attend on a regular basis? Is your

church in its own building, a home, a building with other churches? Why

is it important that you have a church home? Do you want to be part of

a new church? Do you want to start a church? Do you like small

congregations or large congregations?

What are some of the reasons that people don’t attend church? Do you

think that it is because they don’t have a car? Do you think that it is

because they don’t want to give God money? Do you think that they

know their lifestyle is not pleasing to God and they don’t want to

repent? Do you think people are too shy to enter into God’s house?

Is it okay for people to put gay flags or signs telling people to vote for

gay marriage on the outside of God’s building? Do you think that there

are people in the church that will not go to heaven who just attend the

services? Do people think that it is okay just to watch church on the

television? Do you think that there are pastors that will perish and go to

hell for eternity because they want to please people and not live holy

lifestyles?

have visited? What are some things that you didn’t like about some

churches that you have been in?

Purity & Purity Covenant

with God

Page 45: The Kingdom of God The Gospel of Jesus Christ

46

Do you know that Jesus is holy and has never sinned? God understands

if you have made mistakes in your life and He still loves you. Did you

know that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit? Did you know that

when Jesus revealed the sin in the Bible that He also said, “Go, sin no

more.” God did not send Jesus to condemn you, He sent Jesus to save

the lost. The Holy Spirit convicts people of sin. Have you ever fallen into

sin as a Christian? Do you know that God’s people perish because of

sin?

Relationship with God

Page 49: The Kingdom of God The Gospel of Jesus Christ

50

Many people long for fulfilling relationships. Relationships change and

relationships change you. Do you still want the old relationships but

they have changed or disappeared? God may be saying that He wants

you to have healthy relationships instead of relationships that may

destroy the gifts inside of you.

Having a relationship with God will be fulfilling. He has so much more

for you to do. You may have to let go of sinful relationships or worldly

ways to get to where God wants to take you.

When God takes people out of your life it may be hard to understand,

but stay close to God and grow in the things that He has for you.

God wants you to reach your full potential in Him. God wants a

relationship with you.

Chapter 13

The 10 Commandments

Page 53: The Kingdom of God The Gospel of Jesus Christ

54

Read and discuss Exodus 20.

1And God spoke all these words, saying:

2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out

of the house of bondage.”

3 “You shall have no other gods before Me.”

4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of

anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that

is in the water under the earth; 5you shall not bow down to them nor

serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the

iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth

generations of those who hate Me, 6but showing mercy to thousands, to

those who love Me and keep My commandments.”

7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord

will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. 8Remember the

Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9Six days you shall labor and do all your

work, 10

but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you

shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male

servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who

is within your gates. 11

For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the

earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day.

Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.”

12

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon

the land which the Lord your God is giving you.”

13

“You shall not murder.”

14

“You shall not commit adultery.”

15

“You shall not steal.”

16

“You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.”

Page 54: The Kingdom of God The Gospel of Jesus Christ

55

17 “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your

neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox,

nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

18

Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightning flashes,

the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the

people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off. 19

Then they said to

Moses, “You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with

us, lest we die.”

20

And Moses said to the people, “Do not fear; for God has come to test

you, and that His fear may be before you, so that you may not sin.” 21

So

the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where

God was.

22

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the children of

Israel: ‘You have seen that I have talked with you from heaven. 23

You

shall not make anything to be with Me—gods of silver or gods of gold

you shall not make for yourselves. 24

An altar of earth you shall make for

Me, and you shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace

offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I record My

name I will come to you, and I will bless you. 25

And if you make Me an

altar of stone, you shall not build it of hewn stone; for if you use your

tool on it, you have profaned it. 26

Nor shall you go up by steps to My

altar, that your nakedness may not be exposed on it.’”

Chapter 14

The Lord’s Prayer

Page 57: The Kingdom of God The Gospel of Jesus Christ

58

Jesus says in Matthew 6,

1“Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be

seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in

heaven. 2Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a

trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the

streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they

have their reward. 3But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your

left hand know what your right hand is doing, 4that your charitable deed

may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward

you openly.

5“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they love

to pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets,

that they may be seen by men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their

reward. 6But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have

shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your

Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. 7And when you pray,

do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they

will be heard for their many words. 8“Therefore do not be like them. For

your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. 9In

this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.

10

Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. 11

Give us this day our daily bread. 12

And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. 13

And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

14

“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also

forgive you. 15

But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will

your Father forgive your trespasses. 16

“Moreover, when you fast, do not

be like the hypocrites, with a sad countenance. For they disfigure their

faces that they may appear to men to be fasting. Assuredly, I say to you,

they have their reward. 17

But you, when you fast, anoint your head and

wash your face, 18

so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to

Page 58: The Kingdom of God The Gospel of Jesus Christ

59

your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in

secret will reward you £openly.

19

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust

destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20

but lay up for yourselves

treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where

thieves do not break in and steal. 21

For where your treasure is, there

your heart will be also.

22

“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your

whole body will be full of light. 23

But if your eye is bad, your whole body

will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness,

how great is that darkness!

24

“No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love

the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You

cannot serve God and mammon.

25

“Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat

or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not

life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26

Look at the birds

of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your

heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27

Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

28

“So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field,

how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29

and yet I say to you that

even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30

Now if

God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is

thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little

faith?

31

“Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall

we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32

For after all these things the

Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these

things. 33

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all

these things shall be added to you. 34

Therefore do not worry about

Page 59: The Kingdom of God The Gospel of Jesus Christ

60

tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for

the day is its own trouble.

Memorize the Lord’s Prayer:

Our father, who art in Heaven,

Hallowed be thy name;

Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done.

On earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;

And forgive us our debts

As we have forgiven our debtors;

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

And the power, And the glory, Forever. Amen.

Our father, which art in Heaven,

Hallowed be thy name;

Thy kingdom come,

Thy will be done.

On earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread;

And forgive us our trespasses

As we have forgiven those who have trespassed against us;

And lead us not into temptation,

But deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom,

And the power, And the glory, Forever. Amen.

Leader’s Guide:

It is the vision for Bible Study and Books Nonprofit to help people with

disabilities write their Christian books and testimonies. The profit from

selling these books helps us reach our ministry goals and vision.

There are some key points that Bible study group leaders should keep in

mind:

1 The location of your Bible study group can be almost anywhere

where you feel comfortable as long as everyone can hear and has a

place to sit. A table is good but not required because many people like

to use the floor, chairs and sofas. You can have a Bible study in a

restaurant or marketplace if you don’t have the use of a church. Having

a Bible study in the marketplace does have its spiritual advantages of

changing the atmosphere of an environment and helps businesses by

your purchases. If you are having this Bible study in a restaurant please

make sure you tip your waiter’s, waitresses, or those picking up your

dishes. And always pick up after yourself and leave a good impression.

2 Make sure if you are using tables and chairs that there are

enough chairs and table space for everyone to sit together.

3 Try to avoid distractions. A distraction takes people away from

the study. Allow for interruptions at times because the input from an

interruption may be something God wants someone to share. Keep an

eye on the topic of discussion and bring the discussion back to the Bible

study topic if needed.

4 When people share difficult circumstances in a Bible study you

should be willing to pray for them and never use it against them. Using

people’s pasts against them does not honor anyone and it can be

displeasing to God. When people share details of their lives and you

repeat it to your friends it is consider gossip (a sinful behavior) unless

there was a special request for assistance such as a need for a vehicle,

housing, clothes, or food. When you do share requests from other

people try not to use names of people unless you are given permission

by that person. It is however acceptable to share the details of what you

are learning in this Bible study especially when God shows you a new

scripture or revelation from His Holy Bible.

Page 63: The Kingdom of God The Gospel of Jesus Christ

5 It is important to keep people on track with the Bible study and

set aside time at the end for prayer. That time should be based on the

number of people attending the Bible study.

6 Always give everyone an opportunity to read during this Bible

study and it can help if you just rotate from one person to another

around the table or the room.

7 If someone is not feeling well it is okay for them to just pass on

the reading of the Bible verses. But if they are really sick they should do

their own Bible study work at home so that they can keep up with the

group.

8 Have a plan for fellowship and ample time for greeting each

other in a group.

9 Everyone should always encourage others, be short in their

explanations during the group study, give good examples, and give good

feedback. If there is any bad feedback it should be directed privately to

the Bible study leader so they are aware of the problem you are

experiencing.

10 Everyone is important to God and God may have people who

are not like you in the group because they have something to share, or

something to learn too.

11 If snacks are shared don’t complain if you can’t eat what is

brought. You should bring things that you like for everyone to eat if

what is being brought is something you are not able to eat.

12 This Bible study is pretty simple and not intended to bring up

arguments if you or someone in the group has been taught something

different. This Bible study is designed for you to find your answers from

the Holy Bible and not from other people. If you are uncomfortable with

anything in this study you should seek God through prayer without

causing a disruption within the group.

13 Always keep a peaceful environment where everyone feels

welcome.

Page 64: The Kingdom of God The Gospel of Jesus Christ

14 If you notice someone who needs help finding a Bible verse be

gentle in how you help them.

15 There should be no strife, contention, name calling, fear or

jealousy. The Bible study leader has the authority to warn someone if

their behavior is not appropriate and after the first warning have

measures in place for asking someone to leave the group.

16 It is good to recap Bible verses for everyone if the Bible verses

or the chapter you are reading is long.

17 The group leader should read the questions for the chapter to

everyone or designate someone to read the questions prior to reading

the scriptures so that you can easily answer the questions when you are

going through the Bible study.

18 The group leader or person designated by the group leader can

make additional questions for each chapter, each week (or meeting

time) if there is enough time allowed.

19 The group may not finish a chapter during the allotted time of

the Bible study and it can either assign the chapter as homework to

finish or continue it the next time you are meeting together.

20 Always start and end the Bible study with prayer thanking God

for His blessings.

It would be good for the Bible study leader or a designated person to

bring a dictionary and a large concordance to the Bible study.

We hope that you enjoy this Bible study whether you are working on it

independently or in a group.

Thank you for using our discipleship manuals for your Bible study.
