We want to fill these experiences with happy memories where new friendships are fostered and where returning the following year is a top priority.

We ensure that the students are occupied morning, afternoon and evening. There is constantly something new to try and experience and our emphasis is always on fun and all round enjoyment.

We have found, over the years, that this makes for a truly memorable programme.

Our international environment enables students from different parts of the world to exchange ideas and experiences, and to communicate in English. The dates for each of our schools can be found above. Different schools have different start and

changeover dates. We advise that students should stay for 2 – 3 weeks though it is possible to book for more or less than this.

Our fact sheets will tell you which airport is recommended for each school. Supplements may apply if a different airport is chosen.

Project International is an established provider of International Summer Schools in the UK and has attracted students from all over the world.

STANDARD EXCURSIONSStudents are taken on escorted coach excursions twice a week. Entrances are included on most excursions, these range from boats trips to museums to University visits. As we maximise the occupancy of the coach we cannot guarantee to send groups exactly where they would like to go however if you tell us early we will try our utmost. If groups would like to go somewhere further afield or into an entrance that is not included, then a supplement may be payable.

Our ‘Live the City’ excursions are an excellent wayto see the historical and cultural icons of our cities. Students race around the city looking for the answers to their fact finding challenge. EXTRA EXCURSIONSThere are also free (or changeover) days where extra excursions can be organised. We have given you some ideas for these excursions on our fact sheets. On these days it is popular to lay on recreational, rather than cultural, trips. We would advise that you book these extra excursions in advance.

EVENINGSOur evening activities change every night and include Discos, Karaoke, Blind Date, Talent Shows, Fashion Shows, Films, Man Hunt and many more.

MEALSA mixture of English and Continental Breakfasts are served. At lunch and dinner, there is always a salad bar with choice of hot meal (including a vegetarian option) and plenty of fruit.

AFTERNOON ACTIVITIESThere is a wide range of activities on offer for maximum participation and enjoyment.

Activities are many and varied and normally include Aerobics, Arts and Crafts, Badminton, Basketball, Drama, Frisbee, Football, Golf, Handball, Hockey, Kwik Cricket, Netball, Rugby, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball, Water Polo, Yoga and so many more. We also offer creative options plus visits to local attractions.

CENTRE INFORMATIONGeneral information on each school as well as details of accommodation can be found on our Centre Fact Sheets. More detailed information will be sent out a month or so prior to departure.

Please note that schools provide a full internet service and use of computers for staff and students. WiFi is again available in most (but NOT all) schools. Pre arrival information will be clear as to WiFi provision.

A laundry facility is provided in all our centres. Schools will either do the laundry for the students or there will be laundry facilities available.

ENGLISH PLUS OPTIONS

If students would prefer a more intensive activity programme they can choose from our wide range of different English Plus options where they will receive top quality, professionally qualified tuition during the afternoons. It will enable the student to go home feeling that they have genuinely achieved something in a particular field.

With the English plus options, please note the following:

• Early booking is advisable. When we reach the maximum for each option, we will close bookings for that week.

• It is NOT possible to pull out of an option that has been pre booked without forfeiting 100% of the monies paid. This is because we commit to teachers in most options based on a minimum number.

If a student decides to change option on arrival they will forfeit monies paid for that option and will have to pay for any new option they may decide to take up.

• It is NOT possible to join an option in the middle of a week.• English Plus options are wholly dependent on a satisfactory/suitable level of participants. Without this

Project International reserves the right to cancel a particular option in a particular week. Obviously any monies paid will be fully reimbursed.

TUITION

PROJECT INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOLSFor more information and to book please email: [email protected]: +44 (0) 333 123 0044 WEB: www.projectinternational.uk.com

English tuition is a core part of our programme. Students have 15 hours contact time per week and there are generally no more than 16 students in a class. Emphasis is placed on getting students to interact and converse in English as much as possible. This is accomplished by providing students with interesting communicative activities that help stimulate and encourage language use.

TEACHING MATERIALSWe have a wide range of communicative resource materials available to our teachers. These include an array of interesting and exciting language activities.

THE EFL SYLLABUSThere is a specially-designed syllabus for all our language levels, which ties in closely with the CEFR. This clearly presents the topics and the language structures/functions that are covered in class. Our teachers all follow this syllabus with some flexibility to allow teachers an opportunity to integrate their own ideas and materials.

CERTIFICATESAn end of course EFL certificate is awarded to each student.

A EXAMPLE TEACHING DAYClasses generally begin at 09.00 and finish at 12.30. There are also two 15-minute breaks.

09.00-10.00 The teacher presents a topic and some related vocabulary. A new grammatical structure or language function is introduced, which is then reinforced using a written or spoken activity.

10.00-10.15 Break

10.15-11.15 The focus here is on getting students to work together on a specific task, using the language function or grammatical structure covered in the first hour. By setting an interesting skills-based task, we feel it stimulates communication and is also more enjoyable.

11.15-11.30 Break

11.30-12.30 The final hour of each teaching day is devoted to more creative language use. Thus, students are encouraged to work on a range of small projects related to the day’s topic, which are often presented by students to the class.

Don’t forget our English plus English option!

Why not try one of our additional English programmes?

TRINITY COLLEGE SPOKEN ENGLISH EXAMIt is possible for groups to take the Trinity College Spoken English Exam. These must be booked by June 1st. Students who take the exam are given assistance and didactic support during the English course to ensure that they are well prepared for the exam.

‘USE OF ENGLISH’ COURSEOur ‘Use of English’ course is aimed at students with a high level of English. The aim of this course is to provide students with an opportunity to learn more about British culture, engage in lively debate, improve their public speaking skills, and explore various aspects of English literature and drama.

INTENSIVE ENGLISH COURSEThis course is held at our Burgess Hill Summer School. The programme involves 25 hours a week in small classes (no more than 8 in a class) with qualified TEFL teachers and working towards the Trinity College Oral Exam at the end of the course.

The morning session is spent introducing a range of new vocabulary and grammar, as well as developing specific language skills. After lunch, students are provided with extensive communication practice opportunities.

The students will follow the same excursion and evening programme as the other students at the centre. Therefore, not only do they receive a more intense English programme they can still relax with the other international students.

OUR STAFF

Our caring staff are on site 24 hours a day and are recruited for their ability to work with children and for their flair or qualifications for teaching or activities.

There are senior staff specifically responsible for English, Afternoon Activities, Excursions, Social Activities and Welfare and Pastoral Care.

Welfare and pastoral care are top priorities and medical assistance is always on hand with our on site First Aiders and access to Medical Professionals.

We also place a huge emphasis on safety and security and are constantly reviewing these vital areas.

1. The first move by a client towards booking a group with PROJECT INTERNATIONAL (PI) must be to request a set number of places for a specified time period (arrival and departure to be clearly stated.) PI will then send a letter of allocation specifying how many places are being held, name of centre and the exact arrival and departure dates. It will also specify a cut-off date by which time the reservation will be released. Deadline dates can be extended on request, though PI cannot guarantee to do so. An allocation letter does NOT constitute confirmation of booking in any shape or form.
