I Would like to take this opportunity to welcome you in the 3rd

Jeddah is well known for its Corniche beach site and rich heritage

with architecture extending back over the last decades. It is believed

that Eve, the Mother of Humanity, was buried in Jeddah, Saudi

Arabia. While there is no absolute archaeological evidence old enough

to authenticate the story of Eve’s burial here, the legend persists.

We promise we will make our best that this event will be successful

and it will be a great benefit to everybody. We are very much look

forward to your participation in IFCPC Course and to welcome you in

Jeddah the Bride of Red sea.

Jeddah is a city located on the coast of the Red Sea and is the major urban center of western Saudi Arabia.

It is the largest city in Makkah Province, the largest sea port on the Red Sea, and the second largest city in Saudi Arabia after the capital city, Riyadh. With a population currently at 3.2 million, Jeddah is an important commercial hub in Saudi Arabia.

Jeddah is the principal gateway to Mecca, Islam's holiest city, which able-bodied Muslims are required to visit at least once in their lifetime. It is also a gateway to Medina, the second holiest place in Islam.

Economically, Jeddah is focusing on further developing capital investment in scientific and engineering leadership within Saudi Arabia, and the Middle East.

Graduated in 1973 from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. After internship and general surgical training positions in Dublin he moved to the UK to specialize in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He was the first Irish doctor to gain a certificate in family planning in London in 1974 (sponsored by the IFPA) and served on the board of the Irish Family Planning Association in the mid 1970s during its’ turbulent early life in Ireland.

For the last three decades Dr Prendiville’s academic, training and research interests have focused almost exclusively in the realm of cervical pre-cancer management. In 1984 he introduced LLETZ (which became known as LEEP in the US) and the technique subsequently gained worldwide acceptance as the standard method of treatment for cervical pre-cancer.

Dr. Prendiville has served at every officer position in the British Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology over a 10 year period.

Dr. Prendiville has served on the executive committee of the IFCPC for the last decade. He is currently the President-elect and takes up the presidency of the organisation in May 2014. He is also chairman of the International Relations Committee.

Dr. Prendiville’s major current interest in cervical pre-cancer is in supporting early screening programmes and establishing viable training programmes in Colposcopy. He runs their distance learning programme (largely in Africa, India and Eastern Europe) as well as a pilot 1 to 1 mentoring programme.

To this end, as chairman of the IFCPC International Relations Committee he has established formal collaborative agreements with FIGO and IARC.
