the world to purchase online wines from the 2014 vintage en primeur (as futures) from the legendary Hospices
de Beaune estate in Burgundy (60 ha including 85% of premiers and grands crus).
Purchases can be either a full pièce (a barrel of 288 bottles) or one of the 5 cuvées (wines) pre-selected by
Albert Bichot on quality and terroir criteria. In this case the minimum purchase is of only 3 bottles.
All buyers have the unique opportunity to add their name as a buyer on the Hospices de Beaune label.
Founded in 1831 and one of the top “maison de Bourgogne”, Albert Bichot has been the #1 buyer at the
Hospices de Beaune for the last 15 years. Due to the success enjoyed by www.hospices-beaune.com since
2009, Albert Bichot is once again using this website to “democratize and revolutionize” the Hospices de
Beaune wine auction.
With guidance and support provided by Jean-David CAMUS, Burgundy fine wine lovers can purchase en
primeur wine from the Hospices de Beaune 2014 auction, in a few clicks of the mouse, from all over the
world.

HOW DOES HOSPICES-BEAUNE.COM by Albert Bichot work ?
2 OPTIONS TO CHOOSE
OPTION 1 : purchase an entire pièce (barrel of 288 bottles)
selected from the 47 cuvées of the Hospices de Beaune 2014
vintage.
An ideal group purchase with friends, colleagues, or family!
In this case, each buyer sets a ceiling bid, having discussed
requirements, and taken advice from Albert Bichot. Albert
Bichot bids on behalf of the buyer if the latter cannot attend the
auction in person. If the bid is successful, the wines are aged in
Bichot’s Beaune cellars for 12 to 16 months, and then delivered
to to the buyer in late spring 2016, in wooden cases.
Buyers have the opportunity to write their name as a buyer (or
their company) on the mythical Hospices de Beaune label.

OPTION 2 : purchase a minimum of 3 bottles of one of the 5
cuvées (wines) selected by Albert Bichot on the basis of quality
criteria, diversity of the terroirs and price (from 45 to 90 Euros
per bottle, representing at least 25% savings).
With the selected cuvées, you are guaranteed no nasty surprises!
The ceiling bid price is set by Albert Bichot (by pièce and hence
by bottle) and is therefore known before the auction takes place.
If Albert Bichot manages to purchase at below the ceiling bid
price, the price of the bottle will come down accordingly.
The wines are delivered in wooden cases in late spring 2016
The listing of selected cuvées will be announced early November. The 2013 selection was:
• Saint-Romain, cuvée Joseph Menault (blanc)
• Meursault-Genevrières 1er
Cru, Cuvée Baudot (blanc)
• Beaune 1er
Cru, Cuvée Guigone de Salins (rouge)
• Volnay 1er
Cru, Cuvée Blondeau (rouge)
• Corton Grand Cru, Cuvée Charlotte Dumay (rouge)
ALBERT BICHOT AND CHARITY
The Hospices de Beaune wine auction perfectly reflects the causes that Albert Bichot espouses on a daily
basis: respect for tradition and the unique ability of wine to create a social bond. This mind-set is borne out
by the company’s strong, enduring commitment to the Hospices de Beaune.
The company has been participating in the Hospices de Beaune auctions since 1876. Albert Bichot has been
the top buyer for 15 years, in terms of number of pièces (around 100 each year) as well as variety (around 30
different cuvées), a clear indication of the company’s unique savoir-faire in the maturing of these exceptional
wines.
Albert Bichot is an independent, family wine house founded in 1831 and now run by Albéric Bichot (6th
generation). It owns 100 hectares of vineyards, grown using sustainable methods, in Chablis, Côte de Nuits,
and Côte de Beaune primarily with four exceptional domaines :
- Château Long-Depaquit in Chablis (65 ha) - Domaine du Clos Frantin in Nuits-Saint-Georges (13 ha)
- Domaine du Pavillon in Pommard (17 ha) - Domaine Adélie in Mercurey (4,5 ha)
