Accessing Mouse Resources
The Harwell Archive is a member of theEuropean Mouse Mutant Archive (EMMA)supported by Infrafrontier - a world-classresearch infrastructure that archives anddistributes scientifically valuable mouse lines.
EMMA requests and shipment data
The Harwell Archive, MRC Harwell Institute,maintains a non-profit frozen mousebiobank. Originally set up in the mid 1970’sthe aim of the archive is to collate a library ofuseful mouse models which are then madepublically available and accessible to thescientific community.
The archive is built on a cost recovery modelwhich offers a free archiving service to thosewishing to secure their stock, with any costsrecuperated from future clients who order thelines.
Together with depositors and users of theservice, The Harwell Archive strives toestablish a cooperative future in mouseresearch by promoting the sharing ofresources and collaborations.
