(September 18, 2017) The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts is pleased to announce that Glen Grusmark has joined the theatre in the newly created position of general manager. Grusmark will oversee day-to-day operations of the 2,300-seat theatre. “Bringing a general manager into our structure is a natural next step for us,” president and CEO Troy Siebels said. “The theatre’s growth has been astronomical over our first ten years, and having Glen on the team helps us to leverage our talented staff to take us forward.” Grusmark comes to the theatre after 25 years at Goodspeed Musicals in East Haddam, CT. As production manager at Goodspeed, Grusmark oversaw a staff of more than 40 people, a budget of three million dollars and all technical production. During Grusmark's tenure, eight Goodspeed productions went on to Broadway, including “Swinging on a Star,” “All Shook Up,” “13” and most recently, Irving Berlin's “Holiday Inn.” In addition to managing Goodspeed’s two stages, Grusmark has overseen technical management of two national tours and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “By Jeeves” on Broadway, as well as transfers, construction and installation work for Variety Arts Theatre, New World Stages, Brooklyn Academy of Music and The Ford’s Theatre. Grusmark is also a photography enthusiast. His work has been seen on the cover of the Hartford Courant’s iTowns, in Governing magazine and various brochures. Grusmark is a graduate of North Carolina School of the Arts, where he earned a scholarship for artistic excellence and a B.F.A. in technical production. He lives in downtown Hartford with the love of his life, Carrie, their two dogs, Tippy and Hugo, and their cat, Cassie.
