The Gospel: Believe It!

Message Thesis: We must each share OUR story!

Message Objective: To help us understand that OUR story will make a difference in someone’s life.

Mark 16:10-1510 And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. 11 And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. 12 After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. 13 And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them. 14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

What Is The Gospel?

The Gospel:

1. The teachings of the Christian religion that Jesus was crucified, died, and raised for man’s sins.

2. The teaching or revelation of Christ.

3. An idea or set of ideas that someone believes and often tries to make other’s believe. Good news!

4. The record of Jesus’ life and teachings in the first 4 books of the New Testament.

5. The summary of Jesus’ birth, life, death, burial, and resurrection.

Romans 1:16

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Why should WE tell it?

We should share our story because:

1.People are lost?

2.People need help?

3.Help is available and we have been helped!

People are lost:35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

Matthew 9:35-36

People need help!

6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Isaiah 53:6

Your story will help someone!15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15

How have you been changed? Tell it!2 Corinthians 5:17-18

17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation.
