Journey to Allah Day 2 7th March 2016

- The Good and Bad End - You will die the way you lived. If you lived a good life, you'll have a good end. If you lived a wicked life - you'll die a bad end. We need to constantly ask Allah to keep us firm. Narrated by Ibn Masoud that the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said, "...By Allah, other than Whom there is no deity, verily one of you performs the actions of the people of Paradise until there is but an arm's length between him and it, and that which has been written overtakes him, and so he acts with the actions of the people of the Hellfire and thus enters it; and verily one of you performs the actions of the people of the Hellfire, until there is but an arm's length between him and it, and that which has been written overtakes him and so he acts with the actions of the people of Paradise and thus he enters it..." This is because the person may outwardly be doing the deeds of Paradise/Hell, but Allah knows what's in their hearts of good or evil. Don't be proud of your good deeds - depend on Allah until the end. And don't judge people for committing sins, you don't know what's in their hearts.

- Signs of a Good Death -

We're not learning this to judge other people's deaths, just for us to know. 1) The last word the person says is La Ilah Illa Allah. 2) Sweat appears on the person’s forehead. 3) Dying on the night of Friday (After Maghreb on Thursday) or on Friday.

- Deaths where people are considered Shaheed -

1) The person who dies in the battlefield 2) The person who dies of drowning 3) The person who gets eaten by a beast 4) The person who dies choking on drinking water 5) The person who dies while holding on to his religion at a time of the Fitnah -He will have the reward of 50 men. 6) The person who dies falling from a mountain 7) The person who dies by burning 8) The person who died by a building or wall falling on them. 9) The person who died due to a stomach pain 10) A woman who died while giving birth 11) The person who died in Madinah 12) The person who died due to a plague Sahl ibn Abi Umamah reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever sincerely asks Allah for martyrdom will be given the status of a martyr from Allah even if he were to die in his bed.” [Muslim] There's no one like Allah. He's Al-Lateef, Al-Kareem.

- The means of having a Good End - 1) Living with Tawheed in your life. 2) Taqwa You hold yourself from desires. It's like a horse wanting to go forward but you pull it back. This isn't easy.

E.g. You get angry. You desist and pardon the person because you want Allah to pardon you. 3) Frequently remembering death 4) Always thinking good about Allah 5) Constantly repenting Generally repent before you go to sleep every night for everything you did during the day.

- The Reasons which cause a Bad End -

1) A Corrupted Aqeedah Your belief is important - and it's obligatory to learn. The Shaytan doesn't want you to learn it, because he knows its importance. He makes it seem unimportant, complicated, and boring, so that you don't study it.

You have to know about the 6 Pillars of Faith: - Allah - The Angels - The Books - The Messengers - The Day of Judgement - The Qadar Belief comes before learning the Qur'an. Not all the companions of the Prophet memorized the entire Qur'an, but their beliefs were sound. Jundub ibn Abdullah said, "We learnt Eeman, and then we learnt the Qur'an, and it increased our Eeman"

E.g. We need to know the answers to questions like: Where is Allah? (Above His throne) Does Allah have hands? (Yes)

2) Postponing repentance This happens when you know you're committing a sin but not making an attempt to quit it or ask Allah to forgive you. The Shaytan deceives us by promising us more time. 3) Misguidance after being guided This happens when a person who knew the religion and tasted its sweetness falls into the trap of the Dunya and leaves guidance. Don't ever depend on yourself - constantly ask Allah to keep you firm. There was a man who used to make the Athan. Once he was giving it, he look down, and saw a beautiful woman and fell in love with her. He wanted to marry her but she said that he had to convert to Christianity. In the end he left the religion. Years later his Muslim companions saw him and asked what had happened. He said he forgot all the Qur'an he memorized, except one verse. (15:2):

“Perhaps (often) will those who disbelieve wish that they were Muslims [those who have submitted themselves to Allah's Will in Islam Islamic Monotheism, this will be on the Day of Resurrection when they will see the disbelievers going to Hell and the Muslims going to Paradise].”

This verse is a proof against him. And you are with whom you love. If you had bad friends previously and you changed and became religious, you can't continue carrying on being friends. They'll lead you astray. You need to worry about yourself. 4) The attachment of your heart to something other than Allah Ask yourself - Who or what is the centre of your life?

A man was in love with a girl and would always go to her house. Once she was late. When she came he automatically prostrated to her and died while in prostration to a girl. Attachment comes with admiration and love and it makes a person restless. It becomes an idol or a God in your heart. Only attach your heart to Allah - remember Allah all the time, learn about His names and attributes. 5) Thinking evil of Allah Allah is the only One that can grant us a good end. But we need to take the means of it and avoid the means to an evil ending.

The Grave - بر ق ال

All the souls to be taken for the next year are disclosed to the Angel of Death on Laylat AlQadr. In one second there could be hundreds of people dying - but Allah gave him the ability to do this. While the soul goes up, the human beings on earth are taking care of the body. In (102:1-4):

“The mutual rivalry for piling up of worldly things diverts you,”

“Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die).”

“Nay! You shall come to know!”

“Again, Nay! You shall come to know!” The grave is just a transitory home. It's like the baby in the stomach. A person may have had the whole Dunya and travelled far and wide - but when he dies, they put him in a narrow, tight hole in the ground.

Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri reported: The Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said, "When a dead body is placed on a bier and men carry it on their shoulders, if he was a pious man, it (corpse) says: "Take me in haste!" But if he was not righteous, it says to its bearers: "Woe to it. Where are you taking it?" Everything except man hears its voice. Had a human being heard its voice, he would have surely fallen into swoon."

Hani' the freed slave of 'Uthman said: When 'Uthman would stop at a grave he would cry until his beard was soaked (in tears). It was said to him: 'The Paradise and the Fire were mentioned and you did not cry, yet you cry because of this?' So he said: 'Indeed the Messenger of Allah said: "Indeed the grave is the first stage among the stages of the Hereafter. So if one is saved from it, then what comes after it is easier than it. And if one is not saved from it, then what comes after it is worse than it." And the Messenger of Allah said: "I have not seen any sight except that the grave is more horrible than it."

Abu Hurairah narrated regarding the story of the black woman who used to clean the mosque. The Messenger of Allah asked about her, and he was told that she had died. He said to them, “Why didn’t you inform me of her death?" It seems that they regarded her as an insignificant person. The Messenger of Allah ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said: “Show me her grave." They showed him her grave and he offered the funeral prayer for her.’ [Agreed upon.]

Muslim added in his narration, ‘Verily, those graves are full of darkness for those buried in them. Allah, the Almighty, will illuminate them for their dwellers by my prayer over them"

- The Squeezing of the Grave - When you are first put in your grave, it'll squeeze you.

عن عائشة رضي هللا عنها أن النبي صلى هللا عليه وسلم قال :

) إن للقبر ضغطةا ولو كان أحد ناجياا منها نجا منها سعد بن معاذ (

From Ayesha that the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said, "There is squeezing in the grave, and if

anyone were to be saved from it, it would be Sa'd Ibn Muadh"

Ibn Umar narrated that the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said regarding Sa'd Ibn Muadh, "This

one at whose death the Throne shook, for whom the gates of heaven were

opened, and whose funeral was attended by seventy thousand angels, has

been squeezed once, then relieved him." But remember, there is no one more merciful than Allah. He is more merciful to us than we are to ourselves. Attach yourself to the mercy of Allah. We need to remember Allah throughout this entire journey - otherwise we'll feel restless and scared.

- The Questioning in the Grave for the Believer - "...فتعاد روحه في جسده ويأتيه ملكان فيجلسانه فيقوالن له : من ربك ؟ فيقول : ربي هللا ، فيقوالن له

: ما دينك ؟ فيقول : ديني اإلسالم فيقوالن له : ما هذا الرجل الذي بعث فيكم ؟ فيقول : هو رسول هللا

وآمنت به وصدقت به..."صلى هللا عليه وسلم . فيقوالن : ما عملك ؟ فيقول : قرأت كتاب هللا

"...So his soul is returned to his body and there come to him two angels who make him sit up and they say to him, ‘Who is your Lord?’ He says, ‘Allah.’ They say, ‘What is your religion?’ He says, ‘My religion is Islam.’ They say, ‘Who is this man who was sent among you?’ He says, ‘He is the Messenger of Allaah' They say, ‘What did you do?’ He says, ‘I read the Book of Allaah and I believed in it." These Angels are called Munkar and Nakir and they're black and blue. When people interrogate you harshly, it’s easy to forget how to answer. We can't depend on ourselves, we can't just memorize the answers and expect to be able to pass this questioning easily. It's only Allah who can keep us firm. Allah said in (14:27):

“Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm in this world (i.e. they will keep on worshipping Allah Alone and none else), and in the Hereafter. And Allah will cause to go astray those who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.), and Allah does what He wills.”

If you lived your life believing in Allah, following the Sunnah of the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص, and submitting to Allah, your actions will translate themselves into these answers. We have to live the answers to these questions. And remember your final destination - This is just a way on the path to meeting Allah.

"...Then a voice calls out from heaven, ‘My slave has spoken the truth, so prepare for him a bed from Paradise and clothe him from Paradise, and open for him a gate to Paradise.’ Then there comes to him some of its fragrance, and his grave is made wide, as far as he can see..." Allah is Al-Waasi’. He doesn't just widen things for us in this world, but in the next as well. The person is enjoying in their grave. He isn't actually in Paradise, but he's enjoying a taste of it. "...ويأتيه رجل حسن الوجه حسن الثياب طيب الريح فيقول : أبشر بالذي يسرك هذا يومك الذي كنت

فيقول : ومن أنت ؟ فوجهك الوجه الذي يجيء بالخير فيقول : أنا عملك الصالح ، فيقول: رب توعد ،

"...Then there comes to him a man with a handsome face and handsome clothes, and a good fragrance, who says, ‘Receive the glad tidings that will bring you joy this day.’ He says, ‘Who are you? Your face is a face which brings glad tidings.’ He says, ‘I am your righteous deeds.’ He says, ‘O Lord, hasten the Hour so that I may return to my family and my wealth'..." Make your friends your good deeds. They'll be with you in your grave - not your husband, nor your children, nor your friends. So make your good deeds

your priority in life. Allah is Al-Qader; He is able to make your good deeds come in the form of a man. In another narration, your good deeds will say, "By Allah, I did not know of you but that you were quick to the obedience of Allah and slow to His disobedience, so may Allah reward you good" After this happens, the good souls meet each other. But this only happens with the good souls.

They ask him: ‘What happened to So and so, what happened to So and so?’ They say: ‘Let him be, for he was in the hardship of the world. When he says, ‘Did he not come here?’ They say: ‘He was taken to the pit (of Hell)..." There'll be talking and conversation, but there'll also be rest. It'll be said to you, "‘Sleep like the bridegroom who will be woken by none but the dearest of his family to him,’ until Allah raises him from that resting-place of his.” When you are resurrected you'll be resurrected gently, as if a loved one is awakening you. Most people focus on punishments, and forget about the pleasure and the blessings.

- The Questioning in the Grave for the Hypocrite/Disbeliever -

Their state will be completely opposite to that of a believer. "...فيعاد روحه في جسده ويأتيه الملكان فيجلسانه فيقوالن له : من ربك ؟ فيقول : هاه هاه ال أدري ،

فيقوالن له : وما دينك ؟ فيقول : هاه هاه ال أدري ،"..Then his soul is returned to his body, and there come to him two angels who make him sit up and they say to him, ‘Who is your Lord?’

He says, ‘Oh, oh, I don’t know.’ They say, ‘What is your religion?’ He says, ‘Oh, oh, I don’t know..."

"...فينادي مناد من السماء أفرشوا له من النار وألبسوه من النار وافتحوا له بابا إلى النار . قال :

"...Then a voice calls out from heaven, ‘Prepare for him a bed from Hell and clothe him from Hell, and open for him a gate to Hell.’

Then there comes to him some of its heat and hot winds, and his grave is constricted and compresses him until his ribs interlock..." As narrow as the grave is, it'll be made even narrower for him.

"...Then there comes to him a man with an ugly face and ugly clothes, and a foul stench, who says, ‘Receive the bad news, this is the day that you were promised.’

He says, ‘Who are you? Your face is a face which forebodes evil.’ He says, ‘I am your evil deeds.’ He says, ‘O Lord, do not let the Hour come, do not let the Hour come'..."

"...When the Kaafir is dying, the angels of punishment come to him with sackcloth and say: ‘Come out discontent and subject to divine wrath to the punishment of Allah. So it comes out like the foulest stench of a corpse. They bring him to the gates of the earth, where they say: ‘How foul is this stench!’ "Then they bring him to the souls of the Kuffaar.”

It's easy to think bad of Allah we hear about the punishment. But Allah is ،رحمن يم، ال رح ودود، ال وهاب ال They did what made them deserve this. In .ال(41:46):

“Whosoever does righteous good deed it is for (the benefit of) his ownself, and

whosoever does evil, it is against his ownself, and your Lord is not at all unjust to (His) slaves.”

Allah gave them all the opportunities to know the answer to these questions, but they didn't take them. They didn't want to believe. Don't feel like Allah is being unfair or unjust. Allah is more merciful than we are. Think good about Allah and bad about the person. There is nothing more loyal to us than our good deeds. When I truly believe that my deeds will come in the form of goodness or bad deeds, then I should make an effort now to see what kind of deeds I do and correct them. Everything in the hereafter is tangible. This information shouldn't be at the back our heads, it should always be alive in our eyes. Islam didn't come to make us miserable. It came to give us a better life in this world, in the grave, in the next. In (20:2-3):

“We have not sent down the Qur'an unto you (O Muhammad ) to cause you distress,”

“But only as a Reminder to those who fear (Allah).”

The Haraam and Halal are good for us. It benefits us.

- People exempted from the questioning of the Grave -

1) The Prophets and Messengers 2) The Martyrs in Battle 3) Those who guard the borders of the Muslim countries - طون مراب ال4) Small Children 5) The Insane Person

- The Punishment of the Grave –

You'll be punished in your grave according to your sins. A believer may have sins, and will be punished according to them, as a purification. E.g. His sins might equate one year of punishment, and then his grave will be expanded and turn into a delight. Then he won't be punished in Hell. We don't want to be punished in the grave at all. Ask Allah for forgiveness now. There are specific sins which have a punishment in the grave: It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas said: The Messenger of Allaah ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص passed by two graves and said, “They are being punished, but they are not being punished for something that was difficult to avoid. One of them used to walk about spreading Nameemah (malicious gossip) and the other used not to take care to avoid getting urine on himself.” [Agreed upon] يمة (1 نم الBe careful when you talk to people about others. You might have a problem with someone and talk it out with another, and you make the other person hate that person. You can end up causing Fitnah enmity between people. This can even happen between students of knowledge when they talk about their teachers. 2) Not taking care to avoid getting urine on yourself This is something so simple. Islam takes care of your cleanliness. It happens quite often with our kids. We need to teach them not to be in a rush to get out of he bathroom. لول (3 غ الTaking from the booty what doesn't belong to you. Don't take things which don't belong to you. A similar thing can happen when you go to a shop, and the person inside isn't the owner of the shop but might give you something free because you're her friend. This is someone else's businesses.

4) Lying A person may spread rumors around the world, or broadcast jokes which contains lies in then. Is it worth it to forward these messages and end up being miserable in your grave? According to the hadeeth of Samurah ibn Jundub (may Allaah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “… We came to a man who was lying flat on his back, with another man standing over him, holding an iron hook. He put the hook in the man's mouth and tore off that side of his face to the back (of his neck), and he tore his nose and his eye from front to back in a similar manner. Then he turned to the other side of the man's face and did likewise. No sooner had he finished the second side but the first side was restored to its former state, then he went back and did the same thing again. I said to my two companions, ‘Subhaan Allaah! Who are these two persons?’ At the end of the hadeeth, he said concerning this one who was being punished: “It's the man who goes out of his house in the morning and tells a lie that is so serious that it spreads all over the world" [Bukhari] The less things you do, the less you'll be accounted. Don't broadcast things without thinking first. You post things on Facebook, Twitter, and the more people that see your posts and spread it, the more you'll be accounted. You're responsible for what you spread. 6) Forsaking the Qur'an This can take different forms: Not reading the Qur'an, not listening to it, not acting upon the Qur'an, etc. In the hadeeth of Samurah ibn Jundub he said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “… we came across a man who was lying down, with another man standing over him, holding a big rock. He threw the rock at the man's head, smashing it. The rock rolled away, and the one who had thrown it followed it, and picked it up. By the time he came back to the man, his head had been restored to its former state. Then he (the one who had thrown the rock) did the same as he had done before. I said to my two companions, ‘Subhaan Allaah! Who are these two persons?’

… ‘The one whom you saw with his head being smashed with the rock, is the man who studies the Qur’aan then he neither recites it nor acts upon it, and he goes to sleep, neglecting the obligatory prayers.’ According to another version: “As for the man whom you saw with his head being crushed by a rock, he is a man who learned the Qur’aan then abandoned it and he slept and missed the obligatory prayer.” [Bukhari] 6) The one who commits adultery In the hadeeth of Samurah (may Allaah be pleased with him) it says: “So we went on, and came to something like a tannoor (a kind of oven, lined with clay, usually used for baking bread). – I think the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said, in that oven there was much noise and voices. The Prophet added: - We looked into it and saw naked men and women. A flame of fire was reaching them from underneath, and when it reached them, they cried out loudly. I asked them, ‘Who are these?’ … The naked men and women whom you saw in a structure that resembled an oven are the adulterers and adulteresses.” 7) The one who deals with Riba In the hadeeth of Samurah (may Allaah be pleased with him) it says: “… So we went on and came to a river – I think he said, red like blood. – In the river there was a man swimming, and on the bank there was a man who had gathered many stones. Whilst the swimmer was swimming, the man who had gathered the stones approached him. The swimmer opened his mouth and the man on the bank threw a stone into it, then the swimmer carried on swimming. Each time he came back, he opened his mouth again, and the man on the bank threw another stone into his mouth. … The man you saw swimming in the river with rocks being thrown into his mouth is the one who consumed riba (usury).”

- What can protect us from the Punishment of the Grave - 1) Seeking refuge from it. There's a dua we say after the Tashahud and before the Tasleem in prayer:

2) Reciting Surah AlMulk every night before you sleep Don't recite it when you get really sleepy, otherwise you won't be able to concentrate. You don't have to read it immediately before you sleep, but at night. And teach it to your children. We don't know what sins we did that might make us deserve the punishment in the grave. Abdullaah ibn Mas'ood said: “Whoever reads 'al-Mulk’ every night, Allaah will protect him from the torment of the grave. At the time of the Messenger of Allaah, we used to call it al-mani'ah (that which protects). In the Book of Allah, there is a chapter [and] whoever recites it every night has done very well.”

Where will the souls be? 1) The Souls of the Prophets Their souls will be in the highest of the highest place.

2) The Souls of the Martyrs The Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said: “Their (shuhada’s) souls are in the crops of green birds, which have lamps hanging from the Throne, and they roam freely wherever they want in Paradise, then they return to those lamps. Their Lord looked down upon them and said: ‘Do you desire anything?’ They said: ‘What could we desire, when we can roam freely wherever we want in Paradise?’ He did that

with them three times, and when they saw that they would not be left without being asked, they said: ‘O Lord, we want You to restore our souls to our bodies so that we may be killed in Your cause again.’ When He saw that they had no need, they were left alone.” [Muslim] Allah said in (3:169-171):

“Think not of those who are killed in the Way of Allah as dead. Nay, they are alive, with their Lord, and they have provision.”

“They rejoice in what Allah has bestowed upon them of His Bounty, rejoicing for the sake of those who have not yet joined them, but are left behind (not yet martyred) that on them no fear shall come, nor shall they grieve.”

“They rejoice in a Grace and a Bounty from Allah, and that Allah will not waste the reward of the believers.”

3) The Souls of the Believers "The Souls of the believers are in the crops of green birds, perching in the trees of Paradise" [Ibn Majah] 4) The Souls of the Kuffar They'll be in punishment.

Minor Signs of the Day of Judgement

In (20:15):

"Verily, the Hour is coming and My Will is to keep it hidden that every person may be rewarded for that which he strives.”

The Day of Judgement will occur suddenly, although there are signs. Even with the signs we can't predict when exactly it'll occur.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger as saying: "The Last Hour would come (so sudden) that a person would be milking the she- camel and the (milk) would not reach the brim of the vessel that the Last Hour would come, and the two persons would be engaged in buying and selling of the clothes and their bargain would not be struck before the Last Hour would come. And someone would be setting his tank in order and he would have hardly set it right when the Last Hour would come."

In (15:85):

“And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them except

with truth, and the Hour is surely coming, so overlook (O Muhammad ), their faults with gracious forgiveness. [This was before the ordainment of Jihadholy fighting in Allah's Cause].”

Overlook and pardon people, open a new page with everyone, because the Day of Judgement will come. In (21:1-3):

“Draws near for mankind their reckoning, while they turn away in heedlessness.”

“Comes not unto them an admonition (a chapter of the Qur'an) from their Lord as a recent revelation but they listen to it while they play”

“With their hearts occupied (with evil things) those who do wrong, conceal their

private counsels, (saying): "Is this (Muhammad ) more than a human being like you? Will you submit to magic while you see it?"

The Qur'an was revealed a century and half ago. The hour is near but people are in heedlessness, turning away. They listen to the reminder, but don't take it seriously - they listen to it while in play. In (70:6-7):

“Verily! They see it (the torment) afar off”

“But We see it (quite) near”

My eyes see it far, but I believe Allah more - it's very near. There are two types of signs of the Day of Judgement: 1) Minor Signs We'll discuss only some of the minor signs, as there are so many. 2) Major Signs We'll discuss them all. There is time between the minor signs, but the major signs happen immediately after the other - like beads falling from a necklace. 1) The Sending of the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص The Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said, whilst pointing with his index and middle fingers, "The time of my advent and the Hour are like these two fingers." 2) The Splitting of the Moon In (54:1):

“The Hour has drawn near, and the moon has been cleft asunder (the people of

Makkah requested Prophet Muhammad to show them a miracle, so he showed them the splitting of the moon).”

The splitting of the moon occurred during the time of the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص. 3) The slave woman will give birth to her Master One of the interpretations of this is that the mother will listen to her child, instead of the other way around. It's as if parents are slaves of their children. We see this nowadays. There was respect to the parents before. And the religion emphasizes respect to them. We shouldn't even raise our voices above the voices of our parents. The closer we get to the Day of Judgement, the more corruption increases.

4) Killing will increase There'll be no value for human life. Humans will be killed for no reason - like sheep. 5) Poor, barefooted, bedouins will compete in building towers No one would expect a hundred story tower in the Arabian Peninsula. And they're competing each other - although their background is poor, barefoot, shepherds. We don't judge people, it's a sign of the hour, so take care of yourself. 6) The non-Muslims will unite against the Muslims Everyone will be against Islam. Everything bad will be connected to Muslims. Thawban, the freed slave of the Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص related that the Messenger of Allah said: "The nations are about to call each other and set upon you, just as diners set upon food." It was said: "Will it be because of our small number that day?" He said: "Rather, on that day you will be many, but you will be like foam, like the foam on the river. And Allah will remove the fear of you from the hearts of your enemies and will throw wahn (weakness) into your hearts." Someone said: "O Messenger of Allah! What is wahn?" He said: "Love of the world and the hatred for death" [Abu Dawud] There are so many Muslims now but how many people know about Allah? How many people know the Sunnah? How many are applying Islam? There are so many Muslims but no quality. Everyone used to be scared of the Muslims, Allah put fear in the disbelievers hearts. We have no value or respect now in the non-Muslims hearts, like there was before. The cause of this cowardice and weakness is love of this world and hatred of death. This is what made us weak. The majority of Muslims are like this nowadays. 7) Money will increase and be widespread but people will not be content

A man would be given a hundred dinars and he will be angry and discontent. Sometimes we give our children everything and they still complain. We have AC, chairs, electricity - the Dunya is open for us and we have so many facilities and yet we complain about everything. 8) The Arabian Peninsula will become green meadows with rivers 9) The Euphrates River will uncover a mountain of gold. Allah's Messenger said: “The Last Hour will not arrive until the Euphrates uncovers a mountain of gold, over which people will fight. Ninety-nine out of every hundred will die but every man amongst them would say that perhaps he would be the one who will be saved (and thus possess the gold).” [Sahîh Muslim] Allah's Messenger said: “The Last Hour will not arrive until the Euphrates uncovers a treasure of gold, so whoever finds it should take nothing from it.” [Sahîh Muslim] This is a Fitnah. 10) The Mahdi will appear This is the end of the minor signs and the beginning of the onset of the major signs. So many groups have wrong assumptions of the Mahdi - believing he is one of their Imams or living in a basement. We need to have the correct belief regarding him. He will appear in a time when the earth is full of corruption. He won't know he is the Mahdi. He's a normal person whose name is Muhammed. In one day and one night Allah will change him and he'll become the Mahdi. He's a righteous man, and Allah will reform the Ummah by his hands. His forehead is wide, his nose is pointed, and he will fill the earth with justice. He'll rule the Muslimeen for 7 years. Where will he appear? From the East He will not appear alone, he will come with people supporting him.

When exactly will he appear? An incident will occur in Makkah. People will find a treasure in the Ka'bah. Three sons of a ruler - each having followers - will fight for this treasure. This is a Fitnah of Wealth. None of them will get it. The Mahdi will emerge during this incident and solve this dispute. The people will then pledge allegiance to him, and he'll be the Caliph for all the Muslims - Arab and Non-Arabs. During this time Allah will send rain, plants will flourish and people will live in peace and goodness.

- Major Signs of the Day of Judgement - دخان (1 The Smoke - الIn (44:10-11):

“Then wait you for the Day when the sky will bring forth a visible smoke.”

“Covering the people, this is a painful torment.”

A smoke will fill the earth and the horizon. It'll go inside the hypocrites and disbelievers ears and nose and make their bodies swollen whereas it'll just be like a flu for the believer. This reminds us of the Fitnah. The believer goes through trials but he doesn't really inhale it, whereas it goes inside the disbeliever. But this smoke is real. يح -2 س م دجال ال The Dajjal - الThis is the greatest Fitnah on the earth. All the Messengers and Prophets warned their nations of his appearance. We need to learn about him because we could live during his appearance. What will be the condition of the earth during his emergence?

1) The Muslims will have power to the extent that they'll make a treaty with the Romans. These two armies will join to a fight a third enemy and defeat them. When they are victorious, one of the Romans will raise the cross and attribute the victory to the cross. One of the Muslims will get angry and kill that man - and there'll be a war between the Muslims and the Romans. All the Muslims killed during this war will be the best of the martyrs. Allah will give victory to the Muslims. While the Muslims are distributing the booty someone will call out, "The Dajjal has come". The Muslims will leave the booty and run to their families, but it'll be a false call. Then he will really emerge. This is a future history class. It's so detailed. 2) The people will be stricken with a famine. “There will be three hard years before the Dajjal (appears). During them, people will be stricken by a great famine. In the first year, Allah will command the sky to withhold a third of its rain, and the earth to withhold a third a third of its produce. In the second year, Allah will command the sky to withhold two thirds of its rain, and the earth to withhold two thirds of its produce. In the third year, Allah will command the sky to withhold all of its rain, and it will not rain a single drop of rain. He will command the earth to withhold all of its produce, and no plant will grow. All hoofed animals will perish, except that which Allah wills.” He was asked, ‘What sustains people during that time?’ He said, “Tahlil, takbir and tahmid (Saying, la ilaha ill Allah, Allahu Akbar and alhamdulillah). This will sustain them just as food does.” [Sahih Al-Jami` as-Saghir, no. 7875] His name is دجال .I.e. The Liar .الHe'll come in a time of difficulty. People will be hungry and thirsty, and he'll command the sky to rain and it'll rain, and the earth to grow plants and it'll grow. Those who follow the Dajjal will get food and drink. If you don't follow him you won't get food. This is a huge trial.

His features are imperfect. That's why you need to know Allah is perfect - so that you won't be deceived. And Allah cannot be seen in this life. If you know this you won't believe in the Dajjal. The Dajjal has one eye, the other eye covered with skin. His hair is curly. His arms aren't straight. He limps. He doesn't have offspring, but he is of the children of Adam. There is a disability in his speech. On top of all of this “Ka-Fa-Ra” will be written on his forehead, but only the believers will be able to see this. Everything depends on your faith. Only the one who believes in Allah will disbelieve in the Dajjal. That's why we need to increase in faith now. Who falls in the Dajjals trap? The disbelievers, the hypocrites, and those with weak faith. Only the strong believers will be saved. Where will he emerge? He will emerge from a place in the east - Kharasaan. The Prophet said, “By Allah, I did not call you together for an exhortation or for a warning. I have called you together because Tameem al-Daari was a Christian and he came and swore allegiance and became Muslim, and told me something which agrees with what I was telling you about the Dajjaal (false messiah). He told me that he sailed in a ship with thirty men of Lakhm and Judhaam and they were tossed by the waves of the sea for a month. Then they came to an island at sunset. They sat in a small rowing-boat and landed on that island. They were met by a beast with a great deal of hair and they could not distinguish his face from his back because he was so hairy. They said: ‘Woe to you, what are you?’ It said: ‘I am al-Jassaasah.’ They said: ‘What is al-Jassaasah?’ It said: ‘O people, go to this man in the monastery for he keen to know about you.’ He (the narrator) said: When it named a man for us we were afraid of it lest it be a devil. Then we set off, rushing, until we came to that monastery, where we found the hugest man we had ever seen, bound strongly in chains with his hands tied to his neck and his legs bound from the knees to the ankles with iron shackles. We said: ‘Woe to you, who are you?’ He said: ‘You will soon find out about me; tell me who you are.’ They said: ‘We are people from Arabia who embarked on a

ship, but the sea became wild and the waves tossed us about for one month, then they brought us to this island of yours. We took to the rowing-boats and landed on this island. We were met by a beast with a great deal of hair and we could not tell his front from his back because he was so hairy. We said: Woe to you, what are you? It said: I am al-Jassaasah. We said: What is al-Jassaasah? It said: Go to this man in the monastery for he is keen to know about you. So we came rushing to you and we fled from it because we could not be sure that it was not a devil.’ He (that chained person) said: ‘Tell me about the date-palm trees of Baysaan.’ We said: ‘What do you want to know about them?’ He said: ‘I am asking you whether these trees bear fruit.’ We said: ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘Soon they will not bear fruit.’ He said: ‘Tell me about the lake of Tabariyyah’ We said: ‘What do you want to know about it?’ He said: ‘Is there water in it?’ They said: ‘There is a great deal of water in it.’ He said: ‘Soon it will dry up.’ Then he said: ‘Tell me about the spring of Zughar (which is in the south of Syria).’ They said: ‘What do you want to know about it?’ He said: ‘Is there water in the spring and do the people grow crops with the water of the spring?’ We said to him: ‘Yes, there is plenty of water in it and the people grow crops with its water.’ He said: ‘Tell me about the Prophet if the unlettered; what has he done?’ We said: ‘He has left Makkah and has settled in Yathrib (Madeenah).’ He said: ‘Do the Arabs fight against him?’ We said: ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘How did he deal with them?’ We told him that he had prevailed over the Arabs in his vicinity and they had shown obedience to him. He said to us: ‘Has it really happened?’ We said: ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘If it is so that is better for them that they show obedience to him. Now I will tell you about myself. I am the Dajjaal and soon I will be given permission to emerge. So I will come out and travel in the land, and will not spare any town but I will stay for forty nights, except Makkah and Taybah (Madeenah). They are both forbidden to me; every time I try to enter one of them, I will be met by an angel with a sword in his hand, who will bar my way, and on every route there will be angels guarding it.’ She said: Then the Messenger of Allah struck the minbar with his staff and said: “This is Taybah, this is Taybah, this is Taybah,” meaning Madeenah. “Did I net tell you this before?” The people said: Yes. [The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:] “I liked the story of Tameem because it agrees with what I used to tell you about him and about Makkah and Madeenah. But he is in the Syrian Sea (Mediterranean) or the Yemeni Sea (Arabian Sea). No, rather he is in the east, he in the east, he is in the east,” and

he pointed towards the east with his hand. She said: I memorized this from the Messenger of Allah" With all this technology, no one can find the Dajjal, although Khorasan is a known place. No one can encompass knowledge except what Allah wills. People will follow the Dajjal because of his power. They'll ignore the way he looks because of that. It makes the people hypnotized. He can travel from the east to the west in a blink of an eye, He has what appears to be Paradise and Hell - but his Paradise is in reality hell, and his hell in reality is Paradise. The Prophet ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said that if you hear of him then avoid him as much as you can. Don't go into the Fitnah. The Shayateen will help the Dajjal. He will claim that he is Allah. They'll bring a man, he'll kill him by cutting him into two pieces and walk between these two pieces and then call the man and he'll come alive. The people will believe this and believe in the Dajjal. One specific group that will follow the Dajjal are the women. The husbands and fathers will tie the women in their houses to prevent them from following the Dajjal. Women fall quickly into the Fitnah and are weak. So be with Allah, He'll protect you. How long will he stay on earth? For 40 days. The first day will be like a year. The second day will be like a month. The third day will be like a week. The rest of the days will be like our normal days. How do I protect myself from the Dajjal? 1) Avoid him. 2) Attach yourself to Allah - Know who Allah is by His names and attributes. 3) Read Surah AlKahf. Memorize the first 10 verses of Surah Kahf. When he appears read them. 4) Before the Tasleem in prayer say:
