I. POST GRADUATE DEGREE COURSE : 3 YEARS :

The following persons will be elibible for admission in theabove course :

1. Persons who have passed B1M( Siddha.) /B5M&S/BSMSDegree Course examination conducted by the Madras Univer-sity /Madurai Kamraj University/Dr. MGR Medical Univer-sity or an examination accepted by the syndicate as equivtdentihcieto,

2. Persons who hold degree in Siddhu Maiulhuvara, the du-ration of which mu">t be of atleasl four years and have undc-r-gone an internship at Hospital for not less than six months andconducted by the institutions as recognised by the State Go-vernment or the graduate of Siddha of Foreign Countries asrecommended by the Govt. of India.

II. DURATION OV THE COURSE :

The duration of the course in each branch ol study will betor three years.III. REGISTRATION :

A candidate for the MD (Siddha) Degree shall register him-self/herself with tho University prior to the commencement ofthe course on the 1st oi April or October paying the pres-cribed fee (According to the University rules).IV. ATTENDANCE :

1. The student will be required to attend atlewt 80% oftotal lectures and practical^ in each subject bcfoie he/she willbe allowed to appear for the examinations. The Syndicatemay however consider special case on Merit.

2. The student will also be required to atiend Hospital dutydaily till ihe completion oi the course, and during the thirdyear he/she will be required to pei/onii Honseiiumship anda Tutorship without any additional remuneration as instructedby the Principal.EXAMINATION :

Seminars, workshops and its critical study TheDksert.ilion must consM of student's own account of Research,The student .should be able to re-i'xpiess his/her observationand draw conclusions on ihe basis of the study of literature inthe field,

1. The Diwertniion should be suitable for its publication inabridged form.

4. In no case, a paper wiitten or published in joint name oftwo or more authors shall be accepted as Dissertation. Thestudent may however submit in suppori of his/her dissertationa published work at vhich. he \ho h U\c iinthor or co-authoi

6. 7. The dissertation should be submitted in the 3rd year ofthe examination of each branch of the MD (Siddha) Courses.The last date for submission of dissertation is 3 months beforefinal examination.

8. Four copies in Tamil/English, the bound dissertation to-fiether with a certificate from the Head of the Department mustbe submitted to the University, through the Principal of theCollege or on or before the date prescribed for the submission.

9. The dissertation, should be examined by examiners appoin-ted by the University

10 The dissertation when accepted shal become the propertyof the University and permission to publish the same shall beobtained from the University. In no case it should be publi-shed before it is accepted.

11 One of the accepted dissertation will be kept in Univer-sity Library, one in the college Library, one in the concerneddivision (nnd one copv for the puide).

12. If the dissertation is not approved it will be returned lothe student with the remarks of the examiners & the studentcan resubmit the same after complying with the observationmade by the examiners.

13. There will be a VIVA-VOCE Test Practical Examinationon the subjeci of ihc Dissertation comprising marks in aggre-gate.

14. The dissei taticm should represent in outcome ot Metho-dology and Scientific research pursued by the Students! on theproblems selected by him, and completed under guidance ofthe Head of the Department,

15. Before the student is allowed to undertake work in dis-sertation, the Title of dissertation shall be registered with Uni-versity within one month from declaration of the results of thepreliminary year.

IN THE APPLICATION FOR THE REGISTRATION OFDISSERTATION

(i) Full title of the dissertation and mathodology indicatingfamilarity with the subject of the student of the student and

(ii) The name of the department shall be specifically men-tioned. The report of the examiners of the dissertation willbe taken into consideration in the final assessment of theresults of the candidates at the examinations.

A candiJate need not appear in the subsequent chances insubject or subjects if he has already pnsvsed and declaredsuccessful.

If a candidate fail in one subject only, in the preliminary heshall bo promoted to the next higher class but he. shall have topass in the subjeci before he is allowed to appear in ihs finalExamination
