  • Eating Right Every Day Do you know how to keep yourself healthy? As you continue on through this presentation you will be learning about what foods you should be eating and the types of activities that will help keep your body happy.

  • Grains What makes up the Grain Group? Foods made from: Wheat, Corn, or Oats Can you think of any examples? Rice, Bread, Popcorn, Oatmeal, Pasta, Pretzels Did you know that you should be eating 6 to 11 servings of the Grain Group each day?

  • Vegetables What are some examples of vegetables that you can think of? Broccoli, Spinach, Carrots, Pumpkin, Peas, Cabbage Did you know that you should be eating 3 to 5 servings of vegetables a day?

  • Physical Activity What is physical activity? Physical activity is defined as: any bodily movement produced by skeletal muscles that results in energy expenditure beyond resting expenditure. There are two different types of activities: moderate and vigorous activity. What are examples of each? Moderate: walking, dancing, leisurely bicycling, yoga Vigorous: Jogging/Running, Weight Training, Swimming Are you aware that you should be getting 30 minutes of exercise each day?
