Visitation is beautifully decorated for the Christmas Sea-son! Thank you to everyone who put in their time, talent and treasure to make our Church so festive.
Thank you especially to the Trumbetta Family for spon-soring our wonderful new outdoor Nativity set. The set is further enhanced by the lovely crèche built by Waclaw Walkosz. This can all be seen outside the main Parish Center entrance.
Thank you to all of the parishioners who donated a piece of our new indoor Nativity, which can be seen to the left of the altar as you walk into the church: The Doyle Fami-ly, The Udovich Family, The Nguyen/Patel Family, Mary Rita Moore, The Hardt Family, The Pacold Family, Alyce Vaughn, Margrette Mary Bradley, The Family of Tom McCabe, Maria Gambino, and the donors who chose to be anonymous.

BISHOP OF JOLIET
Most Rev. R. Daniel Conlon, J.C.D.

Visitation Parish would like to thank George Klein for his
15 years of ministry service as Head Usher. George has
officially “retired” from the role and he will be greatly
missed. George coordinated a crew of thoughtful and
efficient ushers, and could always be seen at Sunday and
holiday masses making sure parishioners and visitors had
a place to worship and any special needs of the
congregation and priests and deacons were met. Thank
you, George!"
and on Thursdays after 8:15 A.M. mass, we pray for our or-dained. Please take some time to pray with us and bring your rosary.

Pope St. John Paul II said, “the Church has been justi-
fied in consistently proposing St. Thomas as a master
of thought and a model of the
right way to pursue theolo-
gy.” Here we explore what
Aquinas has to teach us
about the virtues and theory
and the essential purpose of
living the moral life as Cath-
olic women.
Be Kind and Merciful through the 2020
Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal
All parishioners will receive a mailing from the Diocese of
Joliet this month about the 2020 Catholic Ministries Annual
Appeal (CMAA). Our annual appeal is vitally important to
not only the diocese, but also to our parish as well. The
CMAA supports 30 ministries that benefit every parish and
allow us all to Be Kind and Merciful to the most vulnerable
in our community.
Our parish’s goal for the 2020 CMAA is <$GOAL>, and 70
percent of any amount we raise over our goal will be
returned to us. This is a great opportunity for our parish!
Please review the materials and then prayerfully reflect on
your gift to this year’s annual appeal.
If you do not receive a mailing from the diocese about the
CMAA, please contact the parish office.
Consecrate Yourself to St. Joseph, Our Spiritual Father!
From the Marian Fathers at the National Shrine of Divine Mercy… ”In the midst of crisis, confusion, and a world at war with the Church, it's time to come home again to our spiritual father, St. Joseph. In this richly researched and lovingly presented program of [a 33-day] consecration to St. Joseph, Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC, brings to life the wonders, the power, and the ceaseless love of St. Joseph, Universal Patron of the Church and the Terror of Demons… He calls on all of us to turn to St. Joseph, entrust ourselves, our Church, and our world to our spiritual father's loving care, and then watch for wonders when [he] opens the floodgates of Heaven to pour out graces into our lives today.”
Complete with incredible endorsements from His Eminence Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke, DD, Most Rev. Athanasius Schneider, ORC, DD, Scott Hahn, PhD, Dr. Ray Guarendi (Speaker, Author, and EWTN TV Host), Jim Cavaziel (Actor, “The Passion of the Christ”), amongst many others.

CHURCH VIGIL CANDLE INTENTIONS
FLAME OF FAITH INTENTIONS
LO, IT CAME UPON A MIDNIGHT CLEAR
Where Jesus is, Mary is too. She cooperated with
God to bring forth our Savior. Throughout our
Lord’s life, Mary made herself available to Him. As
the Mother of God, Mary calls us to the Eucharistic
Sacrifice of the Mass and Eucharistic Adoration. We
must make it a habit to imitate her. Since our primary
calling as creatures is to love and adore our Creator, it
is fitting to take time during this Christmas season to
recognize our dependence on Him. You want to
show love? You must receive it first. Just as roses
bloomed in December as a sign of Our Lady of
Guadalupe to Juan Diego’s bishop, roses of holiness
can bloom in our hearts from every moment spent in
Jesus’ presence. He can soften hearts, heal hearts,
and encourage hearts. Leaving the Adoration throne
room, we are filled with His love. It is then that we
are prepared to bring Him to others.
Mary, after the Annunciation, immediately went to
visit her cousin Elizabeth, to attend to her needs
before the birth of John the Baptist. Upon greeting
Mary, Elizabeth said, “…but who am I that the
mother of my Lord, should come to me?” (Luke 1:43)
And John leapt in his mother’s womb. Let this be a
sign to us to not delay our acts of charity towards
others. Mary was filled with Jesus and straightaway
brought Love to Elizabeth and John, filling them with
the joy of the Holy Spirit.
Be filled with the Holy Spirit this Christmas season.
Like the shepherds in the fields on Christmas night,
hasten to make your way to the Adoration Chapel.
“Rejoice in the Lord always…all men should notice
how kind you are. The Lord is near. Put all anxiety
away from your minds. Present your needs to God in
every form of prayer and in petitions full of gratitude.
Then will God’s own peace, which goes beyond all
comprehension, stand guard over your hearts and
minds, in Christ Jesus, our Lord.” (Phil. 4:4-7) May
all our families be like the Holy Family of Jesus,
Mary, and Joseph: filled with the peace and love of
God!
The Adoration Chapel is open perpetually. Let’s
keep it that way going into the New Year! Many
registered adorers need partners. Hasten to Him Who
loves you, so you can bring His love to others! To
register, call Mary Lewis at 630-941-9173 or Joan
Taylor at 630-530-8963.

The Epiphany of The Lord
We may walk many roads when we search for God, and
He leads us all the while. The men we honor today were
not Jews. The Messiah wasn’t coming for them, not in the
minds of Jesus’ contemporaries. These men were
astrologers. They were adept at reading portents in the sky,
a practice condemned in the Mosaic covenant. Still, to the
best of their knowledge and awareness, they were seeking
the truth. This truth led them to journey from their own
homeland to honor a king they’d never met, one they
couldn’t be sure truly existed. “‘We saw his star at its
rising and have come to do him homage.’” Who do you
know seeks God so tenaciously?
“Magi from the east arrived in Jerusalem,” the Gospel
tells us. Who are the seekers in your own life? Maybe it’s
your cautiously curious co-worker, the neighbor who
unexpectedly found peace on a yoga retreat, or your
desperately angry child who has chosen, for now, to go
their own way. Perhaps they’re not overtly headed for
Jesus now, not yet. But they may well be seekers of truth
in ways we didn’t expect. Our invitation is to listen,
inquire, and give directions when appropriate.
The magi and modern-day seekers can inspire us as well.
When is the last time you sought God’s truth so
tenaciously? As believers, it can perhaps be easy to
become desensitized to the Christmas season and to the
miraculous reality we recently celebrated. Mass may have
been lovely, but so was the succulent roast beef, the crisp
smell of evergreen, and the warm glow of family. Consider
asking yourself, “God, do I know you as well as I should?
Would I journey as far as the magi to meet You, if I could?
Do I journey to meet You daily in prayer? What do those
answer say about me, and about our relationship?” Perhaps
we, like the magi, can once again be “overjoyed” at seeing
the Light of the World.
