INDIRECT SPEECH-INDIRECT SPEECH-indirektni govorindirektni govor

• Used to retell the words of somebody/ prenosimo tuđe reči

There four types of sentences/razlikujemo četiri vrste rečenica:

1. Declarative/izjavne2. Imperative/zapovedne3. Interrogative/upitne4. Negative/odrične

• Declarative sentences/izjavne rečenice

“I am leaving tonight.”, Susan says. DIRECT SPEECH

Susan says that she is leaving tonight. INDIRECT SPEECH

- We added that and changed the pronoun (from I into she)/Dodali smo that i izmenili zamenicu

• Imperative sentences/zapovedne rečenice

“Open that window”, Susan orders. DIRECT SPEECH

Susan orders to open that window. INDIRECT SPEECH

- We added to /Dodali smo to

• Interrogative sentences/upitne rečenice

Yes/No questions

“Do you like ice-cream?”, Susan asks. DIRECT SPEECH

Susan asks if I like ice-cream. INDIRECT SPEECH

Wh- questions (when, where, what…)

“When did you go home?”, Susan asks. DIRECT SPEECH

Susan asks when I went home. INDIRECT SPEECH

- We used the wh- word and changed the pronoun/Dodali smo wh- i izmenili zamenicu (iz you u I)

Tense used in the direct sentence is also used in the indirect sentence/vreme upotrebljeno u direktnoj rečenici, upotrebljeno je i u indirektnoj rečenici (slaže se sa subjektom)
