    Keywords : Writing, Recount text, Facebook wall

    Writing is representation of language in written form. This skill requires

    students for giving attention how text organized correctly. It concludes how to use

    media In teaching. Students could learn their material easily through appropriate

    media. The writer take Facebook wall as alternative media because it could give

    contribution for students in composing text. This media give chance to the

    students to use new media in learning.

    The objective of this research is to find out whether there is significant

    difference between the writing ability in recount text of the tenth grade students of

    MA NU BANAT Kudus in academic year 2013/2014 before and after taught by

    using Facebook wall.

    The design of this research is Experimental Research. This research

    took place at MA NU BANAT Kudus. The subjects of the research are the tenth

    grade students of MA NU BANAT Kudus with sample of this research is 27

    students from class XUI. The writer gave writing recount text test to measure the

    students ability in writing recount text. All of the students are given pretest which

    is given before using Facebook wall as media and after they got the treatment, the

    writer continues giving post-test.

    The result of this research shows that the writing ability in recount text

    of the tenth grade students of MA NU BANAT Kudus in academic year

    2013/2014 before taught by using Facebook wall is categorized sufficient. The

    score of Mean and Standard Deviation are 62 and 9.20. Meanwhile, the writing

    ability in recount text of the tenth grade students of MA NU BANAT Kudus in

    academic year 2013/2014 after taught by using Facebook wall is categorized

    good. The score of Mean and Standard Deviation are 79.6 and 5.85. the

    calculation of t-test gets result 9.10 and in the level of significance 0.05 and the

    degree of freedom (df) 26 which is gained N-1, t-table is 2.06.

    Based on the result above, It is concluded that there is a significant

    difference between the writing ability in recount text of the tenth grade students of

    MA NU BANAT Kudus in academic year 2013/2014 before and after taught by

    using Facebook wall. The writer suggests that Facebook wall is interesting media

    in teaching English. It is also as a consideration for the teacher to use Facebook

    wall as media in teaching writing. Therefore, students could assumes that writing

    English text is not difficult if use appropriate technique, method even media in

    learning.

    Menulis adalah gambaran bahasa dalam bentuk tertulis. Keahlian ini

    mengharuskan siswa untuk memperhatikan bagaimana text diatur dengan benar.

    Hal ini termasuk bagaimana pengunaan media dalam pengajaran. Siswa dapat

    mempelajari materi dengan mudah melalui media yang tepat. Penulis

    menggunakan dinding Facebook sebagai alternatif media karena Facebook dapat

    memberikan dukungan kepada siswa dalam membuat text. Media ini memberikan

    kesempatan kepada siswa untuk menggunakan media yang baru dalam

    pembelajaran.

    Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mencari apakah perbedaan yang

    significant antara kemamuan menulis text recount siswa kelas sepuluh MA NU

    BANAT Kudus tahun ajaran 2013/2014 sebelum dan setelah diajarkan dengan

    dinding Facebook.

    Desain penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Experimental. Penelitian ini

    mengambil tempat di MA NU BANAT Kudus. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah

    siswa kelas sepuluh MA NU BANAT Kudus dengan sampel penelitian ini yaitu

    27 siswa dari kelas XUI. Penulis memberikan test text recount untuk mengukur

    kemampuan siswa dalam menulis text recount. Semua siswa diberikan pretest

    yang diberikan sebelum menggunakan dinding Facebook sebagai media dan

    setelah siswa mendapatkan treatment, penulis melanjutkan pemberian posttest.

    Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemamuan menulis text

    recount siswa kelas sepuluh MA NU BANAT Kudus tahun ajaran 2013/2014

    sebelum diajarkan dengan dinding Facebook dikategorikan cukup. Nilai rata-rata

    dan standar deviasi adalah 62 dan 9,20. Sementara itu, kemamuan menulis text

    recount siswa kelas sepuluh MA NU BANAT Kudus tahun ajaran 2013/2014

    setelah diajarkan dengan dinding Facebook dikategorikan baik. Nilai rata-rata dan

    standar deviasi adalah 79,6 dan 5,85. Perhitungan t-test menghasilkan 9,10 dan di

    tingkat signifikan 0.05 dan tingkat kebebasan (df) 26 yang diperoleh dari N-1 t-

    table 2,06.

    Berdasarkan hasil diatas, disimpulkan bahwa ada perbedaan yang

    signifikan antara kemamuan menulis text recount siswa kelas sepuluh MA NU

    BANAT Kudus tahun ajaran 2013/2014 sebelum dan setelah diajarkan dengan

    dinding Facebook. Penulis menyarankan bahwa dinding Facebook adalah media

    yang menarik dalam pengajaran bahasa inggris. Media ini dapat juga sebagai

    media dalam pengajaran menulis. Oleh karena itu, siswa dapat beranggapan

    teknik, metode bahkan media yang tepat dalam pembelajaran.
