Student Performance Night March 25th

This month, our studio will be offering aquarterly recital for the students to individuallydemonstrate their learned skills and techniques toan audience of family and friends. This recital willhelp improve their confidence in public performingand their over-all self-esteem, and of course, shouldbe lots of fun for all involved! It is scheduled 6:30PM, March 25th and will run about 45 minutes. Wewant to encourage all students to participate! Pho-

tos are welcomed.

Other student recital dates for this year are:

June 24th, September 23rd, and December 16th.

Awards Ceremony & Dinner

On April 2nd, 2011 at 6:00pm, the Shaolin Studios instructors, stu-dents, and family are invited to attend the 3rd Annual S.D.S.S Awards Cere-mony and Dinner at the Danbury Plaza Hotel in Danbury, Connecticut. Moreinformation about the dinner itself, dress, etc. will be forthcoming, but in themeantime, your participation in nominating candidates for various awards is

encouraged!

Of the five types of honors presented during the ceremony, three of them are voted on by students and family of S.D.S.S. These prestigious awards

are:

S.D.S.S. International Instructor of the Year

S.D.S.S. Spirit of Shaolin Award

S.D.S.S. Youth Leadership Award

An email was sent out recently to everyone with more detailed infor-mation about each award and the qualifications of the person(s) that should

receive it. We also have a copy of that email posted at the dojo in the waitingroom, for those who do not have email access. We encourage you to look overthese guidelines as put forth by the Grandmaster before making your decision

on who to nominate!

All nominations should be emailed directly to the Grandmaster at hisemail address: stevedemasco@aol.com He asks that you include your name,the nominee’s name and the studio location you are affiliated with. Com-

ments are also welcome, but not necessary to vote.

It’s only a month away! The Shaolin OlympicQualifier Event is April 9th, here at the Keene Dojo! The

Shaolin Olympics Finals is our biggest event of the year,but in order to compete in Connecticut in November,students must first compete in their regional qualifier in

this spring.

The sign-up sheet is hanging up in the studio,but if it is full or missing, just ask a Sensei for it andthey’ll be happy to assist you. We want everyone toparticipate– after all, we have quite a reputation and

two very prestigious cups to protect, among other,rather large trophies to bring home!
