Medical Ships - Australia news update Being a volunteer for 25 years – through marriage, kids, and life’s other events – can look incredibly daunting. Raising financial support, on top of starting and running the YWAM Townsville Centre, would be too much for some. With a rare commitment and passion to help however they are able, Ken and Robyn have lived in this way and continue to do so, even if it means sacrificing their own time and resources to bring good to this world. Their determination to make a change is what drives them to make those sacrifices. In turn, when they see the difference their efforts are making to help the less fortunate, as through the Medical Ship, it brings them incredible joy. In a recent interview, Robyn expressed how it feels to be involved in it all, whether on the Medical Ship or working behind the scenes to make it all happen: “…just knowing I’m part of that process of healing, it feels great.” This realisation has been a useful tool for many that have come under Ken and Robyn’s leadership. That leadership has been a crucial part of making YWAM Townsville what it is today – 100 staff, the Medical Ship, training schools, an incredibly effective youth program, and much more. Being a volunteer for 25 years – through marriage, kids, and life’s other events – can look incredibly daunting.

Thanking our Sponsors:

In the spirit of the Christmas season, the YWAM Medical Ship team has begun looking back on the year with such gratitude. The team is also looking forward to the coming year, expanding on our outreaches, and many more lives being affected. As you continue reading, we ask you to consider how you can make stories like these a reality for many more in 2012.

GIVE to a ywam staff mEmbErAll YWAM staff volunteer their time and talents with no compensation; staff members must provide their own finances. Outreach costs to Papua New Guinea must be paid on top of regular staff fees.

$50 per month contributes towards outreach fees and living costs. Contact a staff member you know personally or have met to find out how you can support them financially

Other current needs include:

$250 needed for shelving to store medical supplies, ensuring efficiency in delivery of services

$1000 to repair the generator, essential for powering the ship
