Freshlyground formed in early 2002, and is made up of seven

talented and diverse musicians from South Africa, Mozambique

and Zimbabwe. Fronted by the diminutive but dynamic Zolani

a major national event

holiday. It is a patriotic,

flag-waving, red white and

blue celebration of

America's birthday!

SPECTACULAR… 4TH of JULY

FIREWORK CELEBRATION

Venue: National Mall

The National Mall, with Washington DC’s monuments and the

U. S. Capitol in the background, forms a beautiful and patriotic

backdrop to America's Independence Day celebrations. This is

an all-day event in the nation's capital, beginning with a parade

along Constitution Avenue and ending with a spectacular

display of fireworks over the Washington Monument.

Waltz Dance with

Beginners Lessons

Let’s Dance…

Waltz Time presents a beginning

waltz lesson from 2:45 to 3:30 pm,

followed by an afternoon of waltzes

and other couples dances to live

music from 3:30 to 6:00 pm. This

dance takes place on the beautiful

hardwood dance floor in Glen Echo

Park’s Spanish Ballroom. No partner

is necessary and beginners are

always welcome. The band today is

Honeysuckle Rose with Liz

(fiddle), Paul Oorts (button accordion,

John Witherspoon is a comedy institution. Most people know

him from TV and movies -- he’s the crazy father figure from

"Friday," "The Wayans Brothers" and "The Boondocks." He’ll

do anything to entertain his fans – he once cut a rap album,

and he had his own internet cooking show. The guy could live

off catchphrases alone, if he wanted. But he's also a great

stand-up comedian who's endearing, honest and knows how

to send a crowd home happy.
