VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
One Mission – Four Fields “You shall receive power when the
Holy Spirit has come upon you;
and you shall be My witnesses both
in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and
Samaria, and even to the remotest
part of the earth.” Acts 1:8
Jesus’ parting words in Acts 1:8 guide the mission of
First Baptist Church, Headland. Our mission is:
“Glorifying God by Knowing Christ and Making Him
Known”. We who know Jesus personally – by grace
alone through faith alone – are intentionally reaching
those who do not know Him with the gospel message.
Our witness of Who Jesus is and What He has done for
all people glorifies God!
We conduct our mission in these four fields:
Jerusalem: Headland, AL
Judea: The Wiregrass Area
Samaria: North America
Ends of the Earth: The Nations of the World
Presently, we are engaged in “Each One, Reach One”.
Every FBChristian is praying for one nearby person who
needs Jesus and His Church. Then each member is
extending an invitation card to this unsaved or
unchurched person welcoming them to our September
29th Worship Service. The tag count thus far from the
EORO board is 76. Have you committed to reaching
‘one’? Are you praying for this person? Have you
invited him or her? This is our calling brothers and
sisters. Let’s step out in faith and boldness to ‘Invite’ in
our Jerusalem!
Missions Sunday – September 15th
We are honored to host Daren and Shawna Davis this
coming Sunday! This veteran missionary couple leads
the Sub-Saharan Africa Affinity for our International
Missions Board. They provide oversight, direction and
support for hundreds of our missionaries on the African
continent south of the great Sahara Desert. Your gifts
through the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering support
their important ministry. Get this….Daren and Shawna
asked to come visit us! They want to fellowship and
worship with us! This is a tremendous honor you’ll not
want to miss! Take advantage of the opportunities to
connect with the Davises listed on the front of The
Clarion. You’ll be blessed to hear of God’s work at the
“Ends of the Earth”!

Dear FBC Staff and Church Members,
On behalf of our staff and students, I want to thank the
FBC staff and church members who donated school sup-
plies to our school for the students who need them. It
makes my heart smile knowing we have a community who
loves and shows love to our students in this way. I truly
take heart in the scripture verse, “I thank my God upon
every remembrance of you.” Philippians 1:3. I pray you all
will remember us in your prayers as we strive to make a
difference in the lives of our students.
In Christ, Linda Saffold
Headland Middle School Principal
FBC Staff and Members,
We want to express our abundant thanks for your generous
gift. High schools are often overlooked and dismissed but
your considerate supplies will go to help those students
who need supplies. Please continue to keep our school, our
teachers and staff, and our students in your prayers. We
truly feel them daily.
Thanks again, Headland High School

The Daniel Prayer Led by Lillian Mitchell; Book Fee: $10; Choir Room
Do you ever feel your prayers are anemic? Hollow? Best-
selling author Anne Graham Lotz looks at the life of Dan-
iel and unpacks the prayer he prayed in Daniel 9. Unlike
the everyday now-I-lay-me-down-to-sleep kind of prayer,
this was a prayer birthed under heartache…
grief...desperation. It was a plea for Heaven to move and
change his nation.
