You are indeed my rock and my
fortress; for your name’s sake lead me
and guide me, take me out of the net that
is hidden for me, for you are my refuge.
Psalm 31: 3-4
God is present for us in so many ways,
both seen and unseen. In these two short
verses the Psalmist conveys just how
important God is in our lives. God is our
rock. God lays the foundation for our
lives through the good world of creation
and through showing us our path of faith.
God protects our souls with his strength.
God sent Christ as our Savior for the
redemption of our sins. God protects us
and cares for us in the midst of the worst
times and turbulence. We know we can
always seek God when we are in need.
God also prepares us for the snares and
pitfalls that abound in the world.
There are many temptations whose
purpose is to entrap and enslave us. God
helps us when we become entangled
trying to show us the best path to move
forward. We must have faith that God is
present and that God is good. Come to
God each day. Pray and meditate on your
life and give your troubles over to God.
It is amazing where God may lead you.
You never know what the path might
look like but have faith and trust in the
goodness and mercy of God.
Blessings,
Jason

Facebook post from Hayli Diaz -
Betty Deela’s granddaughter:
Throughout Gage’s recovery, my grandma Betty & the First Christian
Church of Thomas, Oklahoma continually sent prayer cards to Gage
and kept him in their prayers. I know that it had a
big part in helping Gage recover and I know that
God was with him the entire time. Thank you
grandma and thank you to the people who prayed
for my little man. It’s been rocky, but he is
almost back to how he was before it happened.
I know that God is good!!
Thank you
for your church’s hosting the
“Healthy Boundaries” class last week.
Please tell the “Kitchen Ladies”
the lunch they made was excellent!

Expanding our view of service We often think of serving in terms
of Matthew 25: supplying food and
clothing; caring for the sick, incarcerated
and other “least of these” members of
society - serving Jesus in the process. But
we also can serve him with our unique
talents and by doing things we love.
For example, Ged King, a barber in
England, devotes some of his time off
to giving homeless people free
haircuts. Imagine Jesus saying, “For
my hair was long and scraggly, and
you cut it” - or “My heart was lonely,
and you played music to lift my
spirits. I could no longer read small
print, and you read to me. I have to
work two jobs, and you invited my
child to spend afternoons crafting
with you. My car broke down, and
you repaired it.” Then the King will
say, “Come, you who are blessed by
my Father … whatever you did for
one of the least of these brothers and
sisters of mine, you did for
me” (Matthew 25:34, 40, NIV;
emphasis added).
