It’s feeling a little more like fall around here as

the colors are out in full force and harvest rolls on.

Today our parish family celebrates our patron

saint, St. Luke! Happy Feast Day to all!

We also celebrate World Mission Sunday and

our response to the needs around the world to help

the Holy Father spread the Good News to all.

Also, today we begin the Annual 20/21 Diocesan Appeal.

This year’s theme Cultivate builds on the last year’s Receive!

As we receive every grace and blessing from the goodness of

God, we then cultivate the gifts received to bear much fruit. We

cultivate our faith, deepen our response and yield a great harvest.

Thank you for your response to this 20/21 Appeal. Please

send your pledges and gifts directly to the Diocese of Grand Is-

land Office of Stewardship and Development, 2708 Old Fair Rd.,

Grand Island, NE 68803-5221 Peace & All Good,

    Fr. Bryan

    Parish Council Meeting 10-12-2020

The October Parish council met with 3 members absent due to

COVID concerns. The current Coronavirus precautions will con-

tinue to remain in place until further notice. There will not be an

Annual Fall dinner this year, but there are considerations for an

event in the spring depending on the state of COVID 19. Arrange-

ments are under way for a Communal Penance Service, but will

certainly look different from past years due to COVID. The 2020-

2021 Annual Appeal will begin again soon with Doug

Havermann graciously accepting the chairmanship duties. Faith

Formation classes have begun with a mix of online and in-person

classes. Finances are holding steady. We encourage parishioners

to continue to send donations to the church office if they are un-

able to attend services. The shed by the convent received a new

facelift with siding. Thank you to Paul Rhulman and Tom Jas-

noch for repairing the gutters on the north side of the church. St.

Luke’s school fundraiser was a great success due to the ease of

online sales. Thanks to all who supported our students! New

Chromebooks have been ordered for students. Currently students

are able to use some from Ogallala Public Schools.

  • Faith Formation News Classes have started. K-1 are doing independent study at home

with their parents. 2nd & 3rd are doing online Zoom classes. 4th &

5th grade are also doing classes via Zoom online.

Due to a teacher shortage, 6th grade has the option of joining the

4th & 5th graders on Zoom classes or the 7th grade for in-person

    classes. 8th & 9th classes are also in-person. 10th and Confirmation

will be online. We have had a lot of changes in a small amount of

time. Please keep patience with us.

Please call Caroline if you have not picked up elementary pack-

ets or books for 10 grade and confirmation.

You can continue to send your weekly con-

tributions to the church office (417 East 3rd

St.) or you can drop them off in the mailbox

by the office door. Thank you for your con-

tinued support, as we still need to pay our bills.

Following the local guidelines and our Diocese of Grand Island

are needed to be wise and pro-active. The Dispensation from

Sunday and Holy Day Obligation remains in force. Please con-

tinue to watch it online or on TV if unable to attend.

We require everyone to wear a mask. Parishioners provide their

own mask. We do have extra masks in the entrance.

Please use hand sanitizer when you enter the church.

During communion we will have one single line and you must

stay 6 feet apart from anyone not in your household. We will have

tape on the main isle every 6 feet to help you stay spaced apart.

We will have a donation basket in the entrance of the church you

to place your offering before or after Mass.

Thank you for doing your part to keep one another safe.
