The Background Information
The Bridge House is a non profit organization located in New Orleans and it regards substance abusers and has been open since 1957
They take in drug and alcohol abusers that other institutions turn down on a daily basis.
They only require that there is a true desire to better themselves
They refuse to turn down people even unable to pay
Mission Statement The mission of Bridge House is to facilitate positive
change and recovery in the lives of the addicted by treating them with dignity, honor and respect. Secondly, teaching them to practice the principles of recovery in order to become productive citizens. Outputs At Bridge House, we help others who are in need of
critical help with alcohol and substance abuse

Here at Bridge House, we are the scaffolding for anyone that comes through are doors and the only requisite for us to welcome people with open arms is that they have the desire to change.
The Process We have two programs, the alpha program, and the
omega program
Our Alpha Program is synthesized of two sub-programs

With one person change due to the tools we use here, he may use those tools on someone else that needs it thus beginning a chain reaction
Community Needs The Community needs The Bridge House, it helps take
people off of the streets
With the people off of the streets, the community looks better as a whole
They acquire jobs and now contribute
97% of people who successfully complete the program report no further crime, 82% had stable employment and 87% had stable housing arrangements
How Does This Link To C.T.? When we strip them of their unscrupulous beliefs of
how alcohol and drugs are okay, they begin to think metacognitively and cognitively
We spread knowledge through our results and publicity to others, and everyone we touch reaches out to others to help others realize the dangers of drugs and alcohol
People can learn to infer the positive changes that people undergo once they drop their addictions
How does this link to C.A.? With our brochures and programs, people can learn to
self critique about what they can do to help our foundation help others
We give people the tools to improve themselves and others once they learn to recognize their own faults
When our graduates explicate their recovery to others, they begin to integrate our ideas into the hearts of others
The Just Think Foundation The Just Think Foundation is all about helping people
lead clean and healthy lives by making responsible decisions
Making the decision to change is the first step and one of the healthiest and responsible decisions an addict can make
My Personal Connection I have always been very close to my grandfather, and
since I was little I can always remember him drinking beers on a daily basis
He is one of my favorite family members, I haven’t even seen him angry or stressed once in my life, he’s always smiling and laughing. He’s even the first one to wish everyone happy birthday and Merry Christmas in the morning.
Recently we were informed that his liver is severely damaged due to his drinking.
Connection [contd.] He is going to be 73 this year, he is healthy as an ox
everywhere else in his body, it’s just his liver that is the problem
The liver is also the only organ that can repair itself
The Bridge House helps people get over their alcohol dependencies if they want to change.
I wish my grandpa would give up drinking for the family, because he’s not the only person he’s hurting.
Due to this, I can thoroughly appreciate what Bridge House does for the community.
What you can do to help! You can financially support our cause here at Bridge
House by donating money
You can donate items to our Thrift Store
If money is tight, then you can help our cause as a whole and take it upon yourself to spread the disease that is substance dependency and help those you know get help.
