What are students saying about The Accredited Pet Gundog Instructor Programme?

“The APGI programme is a highly informative course that opens your mind asa trainer”

“The APGI course utilises social media, regular video group sessions andresidential workshops to ensure that candidates are not isolated. Thesyllabus is broken down into monthly homework assignments which are a mixof theory and practical exercises. Additional ad-hoc reviews of animal basedvideo clips are used to stimulate group discussions and reinforce knowledgeand group camaraderie.”

“The course teaches not only ‘the how’ to conduct exercises but also the ‘why’behind the exercise so that candidates are able to instruct and advise from aposition of knowledge and teach appropriate exercises in the correctsequence and according to age, agility and activity of the dog.”

Page 24: The Accredited Pet Gundog Instructor Training Programme 2017 prospectus 2019.pdf · • Registration fee of £495 followed by 11 monthly payments of £200 and one of £300 • Registration

“The programme is so much more than I could have hoped for. The saying ‘itdoes what it says on the tin’ would be an understatement where thisprogramme is concerned, it does so much more than it says on the tin. Theprogramme offers so much learning, going above and beyond my initialexpectations.”

“A holistic approach to dog training as we operated on the physical, emotional, mental and almost spiritual plane and was not about simplythrowing dummies.”

“Learning theory and practical covering a variety of elements including: caninebehaviour, pet dog exercises, gundog exercises, plus, essential information onequipment, the anatomical and physiological well-being of the gundog, education on how we can minimise injury and train the dogs safely and ageappropriately.”

Page 25: The Accredited Pet Gundog Instructor Training Programme 2017 prospectus 2019.pdf · • Registration fee of £495 followed by 11 monthly payments of £200 and one of £300 • Registration

“The course has really opened my eyes about what it means to be a dogtrainer, rather than someone who can produce a reasonably obedient dog. Ihave learned so much about the Why as well as the How and I look forward topassing this on to others for the benefit of owners, and more importantly, their dogs”

“If you want a practical course that gives you lots of information then this isthe course for you. Getting the dogs to a standard that is beneficial both foryou and your dogs in a way that is positively rewarding is the key aspect, usinggundog work to lock in practical everyday training. This for me is a breath offresh air, it’s ace!”

“The training methods are effective, positive and motivational and I have seena huge difference in my dog as I work through the programme with her. Iwould highly recommend this fantastic programme to anyone serious abouttaking their learning and teaching to a whole new level. You won't bedisappointed”

“Even the basics of dummy throwing have been broken down and evaluatedvia video homework. Very quickly you start to analyse and review your owninteraction with your dog and become aware that either one or both of youare learning all the time. Just as interesting is that you also start to watchother people with their dog and apply your learning as you note how thesubtlety of body position could help the dog understand what is required of itand succeed.”

“I am really enjoying this course there is so much to learn, the homework iswell structured and Lez’s books give you such a lot of information to refer to,the workshop week was well run with a great venue and I would certainlyrecommend it to anyone who is serious about wanting to train Gundogs!”
