PLTA 2017 ANNUAL CONVENTION Bear Creek Mountain Resort

June 11 - 13, 2017 PLTA Members,

It won’t be long before the start of the 96th Annual Convention of the

Pennsylvania Land Title Association. This year’s convention will be held at

Bear Creek Mountain Resort in Macungie, PA, from June 11-13, 2017.

Join your colleagues, industry leaders and vendors to stay current with

title issues, your role in the changing marketplace and technology advances.

Along with education, network within the industry, relax at the spa, join in

the special activities and have fun with a few surprises. Sign up for Golf

on Monday!

Relax and enjoy a few days of education and fun! Dress is resort-casual for

your entire convention experience! Of course there is one night of elegance

as we dress up for the President’s Reception and PLTA Enchantment Under the

Sea Honors Banquet (formal, black-tie optional). This evening we gather to

applaud those who have worked tirelessly on behalf of the Association and

the industry including those who volunteer on a committee, our past-

presidents, and our members who have earned our prestigious professional

designations. The PLTA 88 MPH Dance Party kicks-off immediately after the

banquet so kick up your heels and celebrate!

Among our exciting speakers we are thrilled to have Mary O'Donnell, who is

the President and CEO of Westcor Land Title Insurance Company, Chair of the

ALTA Underwriter Section and sits on the ALTA Board of Governors joining us!

Mary will provide insight and updates on the latest news for the title

industry. Also presenting will be Leslie Wyatt, Director of Industry

Relations at SoftPro and Wayne Stanley, Director of Public Affairs for ALTA!

ACTIVITIES

Doc Brown’s Brushes & Brews

Join us for painting and beer tasting (wine available) on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Our instructor/artist will guide you step by step

through creating an original piece of art. You will have your very own one-of-a-kind masterpiece! This is a laid back and relaxing

event, so come and have a good time with friends and colleagues. Wine and beer will be available and is included in the cost for this event. Although aprons will be provided, please dress accordingly. Great

Scott! Space is limited for this event, registration is first come,

first serve, so don’t miss out!

Sports Almanac Golf Outing

Spend the afternoon golfing at prestigious Golden Oaks Golf Course on

Monday, June 12, 2017 at 12:30 PM! Although Golden Oaks is a

Championship Golf Course – there are five sets of Tees, including Women’s

and Senior Tees, to ensure an enjoyable round for all skill levels. Golden Oaks is twenty three years old and is ranked number 2 in Pennsylvania and

15th in the nation by Golf Advisor. Golden Oaks has also been named “Best of

Berks” in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2013, as well as “Reader’s

Choice for Best Golf Course” 2014, 2015, and 2016. Come out and join friends

and colleagues for a day of fun on the greens!

Hotel Activities

Relax at the Spa at Bear Creek

With serene mountain surroundings and therapeutic treatments, The Spa at Bear

Creek offers a unique resort experience that focuses on your well-being while

leaving you relaxed, renewed and rejuvenated. The spa offers a variety of

nail, hair, and body treatments. Book spa appointments by calling 610-641-7174.

PLTA guests will receive a 10% discount card.

In addition, guests have access to: Steam Room, Fitness Center, Indoor/Outdoor Pools and Hot Tubs.

Hiking & Mountain Biking

Over 7 miles of wooded mountain biking and hiking trails encircle the

resort. Hikers can enjoy the local flora and fauna and some spectacular

mountain views while trekking on the marked trails. Trail maps are available.

Boating

Spend the afternoon boating on our five-acre lake. Boating options include

paddling around the lake in one of our single or tandem kayaks, a stand-up

paddle board, or four-person paddle boats.

Tennis

Enjoy a set or two of tennis on the lighted full-size tennis courts or

practice your strokes on the adjacent hitting wall.

Basketball

Shoot some hoops or play a brisk game of one-on-one on our half court with height-adjustable backboard.

Volleyball, Badminton & Horseshoes

Gather your friends and family for an exciting game of volleyball,

badminton, or horseshoes at the base of the mountain.

Disc Golf

The first 9 holes are a variety of uphill and downhill, mostly shorter

(longest is 419 feet). Holes 10 and 11 are open and play over a large pond.

The remainder of the back nine is mostly flat & heavily wooded with a creek

coming into play on two holes.

Putting Green

Practice makes perfect, so don’t let your strokes suffer while you are away.

You can practice your short game on our putting green located in the

Mountain Courtyard.

Geocaching

Geocaching combines modern GPS technology with a traditional treasure-

hunting game. Several caches (treasures) are hidden throughout our property.
